@bigislife Went to Lowes.. got some metal, cut two pieces of metal to good lengths. Trimmed the metal and used a grinder on the corners of it, then bent it to 90 degrees, bolted it together, the bolted it on the Jeep lol. Oh and I drilled a hole for the antenna..
I just got this installed in my truck what is the situation with talking on cb radios can you just listen in or can you actually talk back to people or do you get told to get off the air? I am a newby to the cb world.
@paracordjunky You can talk back to people, or listen. Just strike up a conversation with somebody if anyone else is listening they might jump in.
When I first started, no one would talk to me for very long about anything, and most of the time, I didn't have anything to say about what they were talking about. But, after a while, people will recognize your call sign, ex. "RedRock" and start talking with ya. Just have fun with it.
@MoreLikeCappuccino I'm really not sure. Shortly after this video I moved mine down and now I have it mounted by my shift lever and it's bolted into the metal around the transmission. I was worried about someone trying to steal it with it on my dash.
i run a monkey-made on a cobra chrome edition with echo, peak&tune, swing kit,,,nothing like it i talk from one end of delaware to the other end of delaware.,GUARD-DOG
Oh, I knew what you were saying. I was just using I-44 as a reference. I'm down in a little valley, so I think that makes it harder to get out. But I still hit all the base stations 20 miles out.
@gezelle007 Yea 19 can be quiet for a long time, and it often is. I live close enough to I-44 to hear the truckers with good antennas, but most of them don't make it the 10 miles to me... I run a Wilson 1000 and can hear good too.. so I know it's not me.
Yea it works pretty good. Besides there being about a 2 second delay when answering a call before the caller can hear you. But you get used to it. It works very well
Nice
