I saw the performance on january 22nd. and it was of outstanding quality all round with near perfection from Kaufmann, harteros and Pape. I find it incredible what one or two people have said. can it be jealousy that non Italian singers have such a success in this repertoire. As for Jonas Kaufmann, it is well nigh impossible to think of a better tenor. thank goodness he is around as he gives such great joy to so many people
@miciatoffina I was there last Thursday (26th) and I totally agree. The performances were outstanding, especially René Pape, Anja Harteros and of course, Jonas. From the very first moment I thought he totally electrified the theatre ! It was quite amazing to be there.
