Don't get me wrong, I love this song, but she has such a tiny voice...When she sings "Just wait" she throws it up on to the next octave but she does it fast so you don't notice that she doesn't have the range to do it properly...I think they should have chosen someone with a stronger voice. Granted the song is beautiful, but her voice just doesn't fit the Viking/Celtic/pseudo-Gaelic theme that this song should have embodied.

i compare beowulf and his guys to the marine corp.the king and all of his soldiers couldnt defeat the monster grindle,the king lost alot of his people,not just soldiers but women and children,they faught with everything they had and still lost.just like the marines beowulf and his small number of men traveled to the kingdom by ship with with one thing on there mind KILL, and later on that night thats exactly what they did.they were the few and the proud and also fearless just like the marines!!!

It wasn't just a fickle boast. Beowulf explained, (In the movie, not historically of course.) that Grendel fought with no armor or weapons, so Beowulf would do the same. It was respect among combatants, and yes, it was a boast as well. (I'm of Anglo-Saxon ancestry, I know a deal about it. :D )

He was naked because in the poem he was boasting saying that he could defeat grendel without any weapon or any armor. In Anglo-Saxon society, it was important to boast and that mattered a lot. So boasting was expected and if Beowulf defeated grendel with no armor (or in the movie, no clothing) he would be able to boast a lot more.
