I usually like it a LITTLE faster, but this was truly good. Finally someone that plays with/creates feeling, and sits by the piano for that very reason.
This is played very nicely. I'm attempting to learn it for my mid-term right now so it was nice to hear it sounding clean (as opposed to where I am right now).
Saying to not use the pedal ever on a Bach piece is like saying don't ever play a Bach piece on the piano. It's saying we should only play Bach music on the harpsichord since he didn't compose for the piano. Beautiful playing and keep up the pedal!
It's true that the pieces were composed with no pedal, but that's pretty irrelevant since they weren't composed for piano, either. All the great Bach pianists make frequent use of the pedal, when appropriate. If you're really that concerned about it, play on a harpsichord and nothing else!
Bach's pieces were not even composed for the piano. Saying not to use the pedal is like saying don't play Bach's pieces on the piano. Beautiful job. Keeping using that pedal!
It's early Baroque...no need for pedal, just play legato, and yes, I noticed the dramatic increase in tempo during the middle toward the end as well. Otherwise, good mastering of the notes, didn't hear any wrong ones.
In my own opinion: While at the same time I feel that Bach (and most other Baroque work), as a rule, sounds terrible on the piano--even by professionals--it _is_, when on piano played, often best performed with some classical interpretation in order to accomodate the instrument.
That was good. Very good. I especially liked the bit of levity at the start, as if to say, we can all do this...indeed...

I like it much better slow also, not just because I can't play it fast, but because it sound better to me.

good attempt to this invention... however, you need to keep a steady tempo and articulate better your phrases.

Shame that your tempo isn't regular, you terminate much faster as you start.

Nicely played. Thought you did a great job of balancing between the hands. Really brought out the cotrapuntal effects of the piece.

I like to hear it played this way. I hate it when they go robotically fast with no feeling. This is gorgeous, you can hear the piece. Just love it!

bachs peices were composed with no pedal
damian0909 3 years ago 20
Yeah, even playing legato is techincally wrong due to the fact that in Bach's time playing legato on the instruments was impossible.

staccato not legato, but your tempo is nice. When I paly it i try to put emotion into it with the way I play it since there is no pedal involved.

not really legato its more detached
