  • An older Rita, still beautiful, here voice is much better than the original with Joe Cocker. I'm surprised she still sings it; Leon Russell wrote it when they were together; as far as I know, they've had no contact in many years.

Anyway, I love Rita; I love her new group Walela, check them out. There's some great ones with her, Priscilla, etc. and Robbie Robertson.

  • ...but I like the 1970 version (with Cocker MD&E) better !!!!!!! Love Rita

  • Fabulous

  • Excellent. I wonder if Bonnie Bramlett's own version is about anywhere? It's ABOUT Eric Clapton, BTW

  • @LaylaGordon Idiot

  • @LaylaGordon I guess your opinion was so good it got flaggled.LOL

  • @LaylaGordon Yes this is a free country that's why I had the right to make the comment I felt I needed to make and back at ya for the inmature part.

  • @LaylaGordon You need to go crawl under a rock and stay.

  • Wow, I don't think I'd fully appreciated Rita! This is wonderful.

  • Too bad we can't get Rita's Mad Dog's version on youTube.

  • Rita's version in Mad Dogs and Englishmen is still the best. Karen's interp is so monotonous.

  • Lets give credit where its due. Another beautiful song my by master song writer.........Leon Russell

  • Rita came up with the idea for this song in the first place.

  • Rita Coolidge es una preciosa reina cherokee, pero este tema no está entre sus mejores interpretaciones. Sólo Karen Carpenter pudo hacer de este tema mediocre algo inolvidable.

  • I know her version was first, but with all due respect - She'll never be able to approach the way Karen did it

  • Still as gorgeous as when she sang with Mad Dogs and Englishmen. That deep vibrato voice is still so fine. I could never get tired of seeing her. Dark beauty with a unique voice. She had few peers in R&R at that time.

  • Good, but still not near as good as the Carpenters.

  • @Nixe1007 I know much, much BETTER!!
