  • 0:40 , I just cant explain myself how does he do that... there is only a possibility... he has six or seven fingers... yeeeees... thats it...

  • In my opinion, Incubus as a band has gone down hill ever since morning view, but....... Mike's guitar has gotten progressively better. I mean, just look at this!

  • Fucking Incredible!

  • One of the most underrated guitarists ever!

  • Solo is ok i guess. its too short to really understand where he is going with it so kind of sounds random and lacking emotion. But then again, i dont listen to Incubus for their solos :)

  • I LOOOOVVVVEEEEE how Mike sounds throughout the Crow Left Of The Murder album. I believe they recorded "follow" for the Halo album..... All i can say is MY GODDD.

  • I'm not a huge fan of A Crow Left of the Murder, but his guitar work on it is so phenomenal.

The solo in sick sad little world is perfect in every way.

  • SOO......... WHY DOESN'T ANYONE SEEM TO LIKE THIS ALBUM!?

  • is that a jazmaster or jaguar?

  • @giggs102 It looks like a jazzmaster with a flatter cut-out

  • @giggs102 jazzmaster.. :)

  • I don't think he is under-rated.

  • Damn! At 0:39 mikes fingers are going crazy!

  • after watching this solo for the nth time, the look on my face was priceless.

  • This is from Alive at Red Rocks if anyone is wondering.

  • how on earth does he do that.

  • does not get any better than this.....Best band i have seen live

  • Alucinaaate!!!

  • very good guitarist, very underrated

  • besides the awesome guitar play, i fucking love the drumming at 1:00

  • haha i love brandon's spazz at 59 secs

  • damn. i accidentally rented it for 2. It's worth more than 5 ;s

  • Holy. Shit. o_()

  • wooooooow

  • This band is superb!

  • MIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • see, jazz is like a start of a strong development that takes over your mind and makes you play notes u never thought of and the beat helps you combine chords together and once you get to rock...itl get easier and youl get used to that kind of solo...jope this helped for many musicians...

  • there goes carpal tunnel syndrome

  • best fucking solo ever!! einziger's style is like no other....

  • hes a very underated player, he seems to be very influenced by jazz, you can hear the influences off of their earlier work

  • i love mike!

  • now i love Mike hes one of my biggest influences, but did u just say he loves his music WAY more than Hendrix???....might wanna rethink that

  • haha u dont know shit about hendrix if u think mike loves music way more than jimi

  • Mike was my first major guitar influence. Learning every incubus song was how I learned to play. But I'm not gonna go that far. Listen to their earliest stuff (like, Fungus Amongus and earlier). Mike's lost his chops since then. This is nothing compared to the solos on Trouble in 421, or Hilikus.

  • i dont think of that as losing his chops i think its evolution ... nothing stays the same ... and i believe had hendrix lived long enuff his music would have changed too

  • Points taken. It's hard to say whether he's lost his chops definitively taking into account his struggles with carpel tunnel. I think he was improvising more back then, though. This is the same solo on the record. Same can be said of all of his recent solos, even the time lapse stuff. The thing that let me down was when I realized that he wasn't playing new solos every time, but instead preparing them. Mike is always trying stuff. I hope he keeps pushing into new territory.

  • This one is more dynamic and progressive. Back in the Fungus Amongus days he stuck to basic scales a lot of the time...

It was just a lot mor wanking and improving and having fun and less about order, back then. It sounded a bit more impressive.

However, I would dilute this one of talent in lieu of that. They're equally impressive for different reasons.

  • i agree ... with that ... ive seen them in concert and although theyre my favorite band n stuff its as though theyre just going thru the motions

  • I'll never forget this one concert I saw years ago on the Morning View tour. They came out and did this incredible jam for the encore, and it segued into Aqueous Transmission. It was sublime, and so surprising! They have nothing to lose. I wish they would be more adventurous and push more boundaries like they used to.

  • me too! thats what i love about blink ... they are so shameless its awesome lol

  • i stringly disagree i mean listen to how little gain hes using now compared to back then. It's relatively easy to play well with loadsa gain to hide the floors but when u start cleaning up that's when it gets messy but mike is still as clean as a whistle. Bad ass guitar player :)

  • @ashleytubb13 actually mistakes stick out more with higher gain......it sounds like nothing but noise when you have it way cranked and are soloing fast but sloppy

  • one of my favorite solos ever...

  • ohh ohho!

  • mike is a genius. but so is the whole band

  • Mike rocks!!!

  • Priceless indeed!

  • I'm new to Incubus, but I just love their sound. Awesome solo. Solid bongos.

  • look up thier old stuff.....trust me

  • best live DVD ever

  • so unlike any other.

  • listen to the sound and beat.. awesome... with "out of the world" guitar part...

  • my ringtone xD

  • amazingggg solo!

  • id say the guy has some talent. very impressive.

  • to say the least

  • Best band ever x2

  • times infinity

  • times infinity again!

  • times infinity again!

  • times three

  • times infinity again!

  • mike its an animal for me the best guitarrist in entire world!!!

  • such a tight jam

  • sounds like hendrix!

    amazing

  • sounds like Mike Einziger.

  • ok, it´s true it is an personal style, but some things makes me remenber hendrix

    (sorry for my english)

  • best band ever.

  • this song owns live....wish the whole video was uploaded

  • i gotta say may fav Mike solos are Psychosilocybin, Sink Beneath The Line, Hilikus, Deep Inside, and Priceless

  • so you dig his santana influenced ones. me too.

  • Psychosilocybin, Priceless, Hilikus and Talk Shows on Mute, Rogues.

  • He is so under-rated but its all bout the music

  • @TPX10

Because everyone listens to Drive and not Fungus Amongus.

  • wow mike einziger is my idol.after reading a lot of these comments many people seem to say that he has lost his "touch".in my opinion Deep Inside was his best solo on a recorded song but have you people listened to Sick Sad Little World off this dvd? honestly i will say it ranks in the top 5 of all solos ever.i invite people to disagree but can u honestly say its worse than amazing performances such as:Free Bird,Stairway to Heaven, Crazy Train. When you just listen to the amazing sounds its wow

  • well, kinda sorta. personally i love his work with the moogerfooger. ive been an incubus fan for almost 9 years now. anyways, im not gonna say that they sold out cuz they didnt, but i think that mike has definently changed for the worst.

    PRS > Jazzmaster

    MESA > Marshall w/ Vox

O yeah, he seems to have lost his gonkulator too which is like the coolest pedal ever

  • He uses the gonkulator on pendulous threads so he hasn't lost anything and hasn't changed for the worse.

  • Thats too harsh of a statement...i agree its a little different but i play guitar and anyone who does knows that u have to grow and expand otherwise u get stuck in a rut of "anticreativity" and it gets boring...oh yeah and he is in a superb group of other excellent musicians that must also do the same. Lets just try to appreciate what he/they have done...doing...and going to do in the future

  • Mike didn't sell out. He just wanted to change his sound. But, I agree with what you mean. I personally liked his PRS/Mesa sounds better than his current setup.

  • i understand what you're trying to say, PRS guitars are great and Mesa Boogie are great amps too, but, mike wanted a new sound, the band turned into grunge, he changed clean for a crunchy and warmer, FJM is a great guitar, i think is a better set up, but cheaper, he changed, the band changed, kil play keyboards now, mike uses reel echo instead of DOD gonkulator, jose plays free, ben grooves, brandon can sing free, i think they've always been great, i hope next album will be the best ever made.

  • light grenades is pretty inovative too, in terms of mike's playing, not so much on the really popular songs but on pendulous threads and rogues it's pretty sweet

  • ...agreed.

  • by far his best playing is on science. the most creative has been on the mostly unreleased stuff tho. its a shame, he seemed to have lost his pedal board and his awesomness as soon as the newest cd's came out

  • agree man, i love his guitar work on fungus among us and science

  • mike should of been louder.

  • Nice i really Like This part of Lead..

Guys visit ur Video its not a really video

only recorded by an MP3 Player.. thanks 4 d0se wh0 will view it...

    search: Megalomaniac - zafiro

  • ok..lets not get ahead of ourselves here, its not THE BEST funk solo ever..but its definatly sweet.

  • so underrated. theres some good shred on fungus among us too.

  • GO MIKE! :)

  • best funk guitar solo ever...

  • mike is insane!

  • Dude mike got so much better on ACLOTM. I dont really like there last two albulms that much though.

  • thatt's focken insane! their earlier albums had the best work when it comes to Mike and his guitar. Much more developed and worked compositions, way harder!

What he got later on was a crazy thing for making crazy effects with his pile of pedals lol!

  • mike has always been very very very innovative

  • mike is a beast.

  • haha, the solo from Priceless is probably my favorite minute or so from that album. So good.

  • Love it.

  • Hey, I'm lookin for the whole song "Priceless" from Alive At Red Rocks. W/b if you have it.

  • man, mike is sick. he kinda looks like pat metheney lol.

  • Should've seen him in the San Diego show.

Looks like he took way too big of a nose hit if you know what i mean

  • fucking mike... I almost had a heart attack!

  • Incubus are fucking amazing.

  • Geez, I dont think this video is high enough frame rate to capture what Mike was doing on that solo.

  • It isn't the full song, its just the solo.

  • Listen to the audeince when Mike is at the peak of the solo ^^ so much energy. Love Incubus!

  • U know, I get the feelin this aint full... Dunno why though o.O
