As far as I know they play both genres mixed up together. And I think that differences between genres are moving and their borders are unclear. So arguing about them is pointless if there isn't a clear difference between them for exp. Black Sabbath is heavy metal and Immortal is black metal. For me this sounds melodic and technic growling/screaming metal and that fits for both death metal and metalcore.
