As an Afghan, I can't fully agree with this lady, because Canada has never treated Afghanistan as an occupant, Canada has always treated Afghanistan as an ally in war against terrorism. 2. Afghanistan will definitely need the assistance of International community for another few years to come, but it is the responsibility of Afghans to make clear the terms, and the sector where they need assistance the most. And WAR AGAINST TERRORISM has had more failures than success so far.

You also failed to mention that with the active participation of foreign troops in Afghanistan comes billions of dollars in humanitarian and development aid-- ALL of which are now being withdrawn from Afghanistan thanks to the troop withdrawal. Afghans are not capable of sustaining themselves right now, it's easy for you to say "get the troops out" when you haven't seen for yourself the improvements they've brought to cities outside the South where the war is not currently happening.

It's really too bad the U.S. and other foreign countries have armed different factions for decades.

@yabodmon The Taliban were never directly responsible for 9/11. According to the gov. it was Al-Qaeda & Bin Laden. The Taliban and Al-Qaeda are NOT the same thing. The U.S. had very close ties to the Taliban pre-9/11 and invited them to the White House to talk over an oil pipeline deal to the Caspian Sea.
