@usernameayyah1234 For a bit more you can get a 6 speed auto, but if you can drive a stick (or are willing to learn) it is far more rewarding and engaging. The manual also weighs less, gets better gas mileage, and of course makes you feel more connected to the car, in addition to cost savings. Only downsides are longevity and heavy traffic is slightly more bothersome.
@MegaDehumanizer Yes, it will charge the iPod or iPhone. The manual says to not use it to charge other things, but I've successfully charged my Android phone with it as well.
hahahahaha If you don't like three doors down, you probably drive a ford. That was the best!!! GREAT video! I've been trying to find a video that really showed all the electronics and this was exactly what I wanted! I'm in love with the mini!
@ovsebahvo It was just under $30,000 USD. I got a few thousand dollars off by asking different dealers what the best deal I could get was. It was custom ordered though, so you should be able to get more money off a car off the lot, and I got almost every option.
My MCS is black with classic lounge green interior and black rims. I wanted something that would make my commute fun. What a joy to drive. I love it. I still need to learn how to use the paddle shifters.
Thanks for the walkthough, looks like a great car, love the colour choice, although perhaps if i could afford it i would have gone with the Nav and my choice of seat colour choices:D
@TheCaptainKratos They're exactly the same as on a BMW, except the toggle switches down below.
They're quite obvious, I only went over each one for those unacquainted with it. Trust me, even if you've never been in a BMW or MINI before, the electronics in a MINI are quite easy to use, whether you get the nav system or not.
Cracks me up. Hey people if you have a family of 4 or 8 then OBVIOUSLY this car is not for you. But if you like spanking SUV's and mustangs all the way to the office... then grab a mini and throw a performance chip in and enjoy!!
@ReaninLove Manuals are a blast. They take some time to get a hang of, and can still be a pain starting up a hill, but they're much more rewarding and fun to drive than automatics. Have fun!
@paraskevas15 The 2011 MINI Cooper S has 181 HP, which isn't that much, but the car is so light that it is actually really quick while still getting 32+ MPG.
@ReaninLove I can easily fit behind myself, and the people in the back seat have never complained for lack of room before. It's smaller than a sedan, sure, but the whole idea of MINI is that you can fit a lot in a small amount of space. If you plan on carrying 3 other people everywhere you go, don't buy a MINI, but if you plan on carrying yourself and maybe 2 others, and 3 in a pinch, test drive one and make sure to go around some corners.
@BlueHen123 They also say that the suspension is overly harsh because they want it to feel like a Cadillac...
MINIs let you customize everything. I got it the way I like it, but the beauty is that since you may have different taste, you can get it to fit your taste too. I like the way the wheels look, and they allow for more air to get to the breaks than smaller wheels. Downsides are the price, and ride comfort but my MINI is pretty smooth, much smoother than my 2005 BMW Z4 3.0
i love the new handle to pull the front seat down the get into the back seat. the old style in my car is just terrible haha no one understands why they made it like they did. Great walk through though.
Thanks so much for this video! I bought a 2011 in December and I am actually hoping to take delivery of it before the end of the month, and I have been wanting another rundown of the 2011 cause I can't wait to get mine!
@Torri91 I was in the same situation! I spent hours scouring the internet for any information about the 2011 MCS while mine was being built and shipped. Be sure to check out mini2.com/forum/ for more info and discussions about the latest MINIs, and to post pictures of your car once it comes in! I've been an active member since I ordered mine in September 2010.
@perfecthips You are welcome! I too could not find any videos of the 2011 facelifted MINI Cooper S, so once mine came in I decided to make one. I am uploading part 2 right now.
The arm rest in the front is optional, but the positioning of it is peculiar, so that it gets in the way of shifting and the parking break, so I decided to not get it. Other than that, I got nearly every option except MINI Connected and backup sensors.
Does this car come only in manual stick? Or are they also available in automatic?

How is the rear seating? When I was in a Mini, I had NO leg room. Like the front seat was up against the back seat.
