  • excellente

  • I'm 13 level 4 and trying to decide if I should pick this song for nysma

  • Hey, are u looking your hands while playing? just asking, coz i do that too.

  • for some reason, my copy of this music says transcribed by Liszt...oh well! Great playing :)

  • What an amazing performance! One of my uncles was a music professor and my mother teaches elementary music plus individual music lessons. I am currently taking a basic Appreciation of Music course and came across this video. Thank you so much for posting such a great performance!

  • Good job, Tobias!

Even with the constant march rhythm.

(I have not heard any mistakes.)

  • @RudiUllrich Danke Rudi!

  • Oh man.. my version that I was playing was in D major...

  • ¿Tiene varios errores, o es idea mia?

  • very nice indeed, I just love the way he handles this piece.

  • Pero muy bueno, excelente!!!

  • i have yet to try the proper version of this but you play it so well hopefully one day i will be to play it as nice as you

  • Excellent. I'm almost ready to post my Guitar (shortened) version (maybe only one on youtube)--I'm checking out other players and this is one of the best.

I really like the "2 hand" version.

    5*

    --Van.

P.S. I watched it a couple of times.

  • Bravo !

  • In the decade of the 1960s, a half century ago, I was an elementary school principal. I had a piano teacher who taught this piece to every student she had, Every spring one student was chosen to play it in a recital. I love this piece. This is without a doubt the best performance I have heard of it. Thank you for bringing back so many wonderful memories. You are truly a gifted pianist.

  • I love it! Nice embellishments! :D

  • Wow!! This is fantastic. :) This is one of the first pieces I learned to play (a very simple version of course...). It is a great piece, and you play wonderfully!

  • wonderful voicing in the treble - clarity and energy. i found myself wanting to hear more in the bass, more passion rising upward.

  • one of the best 'Amateur' pianists I have heard!

  • Thanks, flugelmaniac! I'm flattered by such a comment :-)

  • Hmm, I dont think this guy is an amateur. Maybe not as good as the likes of Horowitz, but way way better than an amateur.

  • @bagongman .......pianovirus describes

himself as an amateur pianist on his profile..............a really good amateur can be as good or even better than some professionals.............they just don't earn their living from it.

  • what about your ears.of course hes an amateur.he makes uncountable mistakes in 6 min.this is much too hard for him.but its obvious that he loves music and practice a lot,but he should not show what he cannot play, better show what you can play.

  • I love this piece. I have it by Hofmann.

  • Thanks! I also have the Hofmann recording.....and much prefer it to mine :-)))

  • Sehr schön!

  • I like this!

  • Wow! Thanks for attempting to record this. It requires so much energy. I enjoyed this video. I didn't realize there's this Schubert-Tausig version of Marche Militaire for two hands until now. I used to play duet with my sister,

  • The song is very nice + and you play very great = Perfect song :)

  • Great! This is one of my favorite ones. For like, 5 years I had a simplified version of this. But simplified is boring to me, I prefer the original. But I'm probably not good enough to do this right now. I can do a bunch of Scott Joplin stuff. And I'm learning one of Chopin's, but it'll take me a long time for me to be as good as you! Good job :) P.S. I didn't notice any wrong notes.

  • Thanks R44F! Btw, nice animations on your channel!!

  • Thanks! Keep up the great piano playing.

  • Dude, I admire the hell out of you, for even attempting Tausig's version!

Bravo to you many times over!

It not all that bad...Impressive in anycase, for such a formidable piece!

    Keep it up! You're ok!

  • Thanks so much buddy! You're ok, too!!! :-)

  • Wow!

One of the most expressive renditions of this piece I've come across. You really relaxed and allowed the music to find a personality of its own here. It's really refreshing to come across an expressive pianist, who doesn't get obsessed with tempi and iciti etc. Have you considered playing some of Liszt's music? If you did, by the sounds of it, I think you'd do it really well. This is genuinely one of the best interpritations of the Tausig transcription I've ever heard. Well Done!

  • wow!! that's awsome!! I'm playing piano too..=) and I'm playing this march 4 hands but I'll ask for this notees..=) that's really awsomee..=) !!GREAT!

  • Rock awesome! The mistakes were barely noticeable. I would've made many more!

  • Wow! He is Awesome!

  • Bravo~! Thanks for posting! Where did you get the music for this? I have some notion that I would like to attempt this. Screw the wrong notes--remember Howowitz--and have fun!

  • Thanks! I got it from somewhere on the Web, don't remember where. I'm happy to send it to you- just PM me your address.

  • Too much funny this piece, and your rendition is so fresh and fluent. Bravo!

  • Thank you, Sandro!!

  • Nice playing Toby! I especially appreciated the emphasis whether intentional or not that you gave to the value of notes and rests. The music actually breathed instead of being just forced to make sounds. Rhythmically the piece sounded amazing! I wish you the best and I hope soon or later you can bring the piece up to another level. No pianist ever stops learning! xD

    -William

  • Thanks, William! I'll definitely have some more work (and fun) with this little beast ahead of me :)

  • Excellent pianovirus! So much going on in that piece. If I close my eyes it sounds like four hands! Great job.

  • Thanks Amilcar! How is it going for you? Any new Chopin Etudes? I still remember your truly wonderful Butterfly.

  • Bravo!!!!!

It's difficult to play this movement alone. great performance. and thank you so much for sharing the version of Barenboim's playing. Barenboim is one of my favorite pianists, i collect some DVD of his performance.

  • Thank you, Meiling! I also found this duet of Barenboim and LL very charming.

  • Good job, It`s in fact a very difult piece! Every pianist is challenged with this. For a live performance you did pretty well and should be proud of what you achived! Keep up the good work and you will see the little mistakes will disapear in a wile!

  • Thanks for the encouraging comment, André! Yes it's still quite difficult for me, especially the ending. But it's really a fun piece to play and I hope the wrong notes will gradually get less in my next attempts...
