@sadziom I just mic'd up the rhodes cab and recorded/looped that junk. Gotta love the real thing. Just got a 73 mk II and gave this one back to its rightful owner.
@dankirouac Its direct in to the interface, both pick-ups blended evenly, and I had some compression/limiting/EQ (In that order) with some of the T-Racks plugins in Ableton. Thanks for checking it out!
@gsgsgsgsgsgsgsgs Thanks! I do have a new album out on iTunes. The band name is "Snakes and Raccoons" and the album title is "Farewell, Forest." The "Girl of My Dreams" acoustic video i have up is on there. Thanks for the interest.
@sadisty1992 Thanks For the kind words! It is a KSD 605 which is like the affordable Ken Smith line (Still has nice wide string spacing) but it is their take on what a 60's 5 string jazz would look like.
That's kickass. I'm trying to do the same kind of thing, with the live recording & such, but with more synths & tweaking (I'm running Reason through Live) and less drum recording. Any hardware recommendations?
Thanks! I love pretty much anything Korg makes and that pad control is great. I had an Axiom 61 which was also great (and pretty affordable). Ive only used my Saffire and Mbox/digi002 and I would say dont do digi unless you just love Pt or get a great deal or something. I really like the idea of interface and mixer altogether making the Korg Zero series a great idea but soo expensive... If your all in the box I would just go with small and reliable. I dont know if that helps though.
I'm going to start recording a bit at home with several instruments, looping around just like you did. Would it be possible, that you give me a hint on the Audio-Interface you are using? It seems, like I have pretty much the same setup: MacBook, Strings and Keys.
So, are you using some USB-Interface or so?
I would be glad to hear from you!
Really great music!! Goes right into my Favourites!
Thank you for the Kindness. I am using a Focusrite Saffire interface which is firewire. Im not super huge on saying it is faster or slower than USB 2.0 but it does allow for daisy chaining hardrives and freeing up the macbooks 2 USB ports for controllers and whatnot. I think it is a great interface and for live performance it has like 10 outs so you can send your sound guy drums, bass, keys and he can mix it which is also a nice feature.... How much do you want to spend?
I got a Phonic Helixboard 12 MKII (firewire) via ebay two days ago for a very nice price! I guess, combined with some active monitors, it will fit my needs. As a part-time drummer I'll go and get some freaky pads or so to build some grooves!
Maybe I will make some vids... In this case I'll drop you some lines! xD
That low B freshness through the break on the 1 at 2:04 made me crap all over myself. Nash had to come into my room and see what I was screaming about.
sick job ! turned out smooth

Is the Bass running through some sort of plug-in amp within Ableton or does it sound like that going right into the interface?

Extraordinary performance.
Did you use external drum samples or was that a ableton drumkit (if so, which one ^^)?
YklausK 2 years ago
It is the Reason drum kits rewired into ableton. If you have Reason it is a great refill to purchase. Thanks for the kind words.

Whoa! Great stuff! Must at least be 6 stars!! :-)
A short question to your setup:
