@mark12810 land is the most important factor. befriend a person who has lots of land away from public highways i.e.paths, bridleways, roads, train tracks etc etc. also, where you are shooting must have a solid backdrop for the inspector to be satisfied, if youre shooting in an area where you could potentially miss you must be sure the bullet wont continue travelling onto another persons property. if you cant get dont bother applying for the license.
@canadian9596 you know, you cant reload rimfire cartridges because you cant re-prime then. before you try to sound like you know what your talking about, read a little bit about the topic first. and for the record, the best rimfire ammo i found is federal gameshock 40 grain high velocity. I can get 3/4" groups regularly with my charles daly superior II.

I never could get the hypervelocity rounds to shoot accurately in any rifle. As far as killing the "bunnies", so long as the end up in the pot, are taken in-season and within game limits, go for it. Other than that, rabbits are getting to be a scare commodity... the invasion of coyotes and stray cats see to that. I prefer to leave the 3-4 rabbits in my backyard alone.

on a calm day 100 yards at a rabbit with 22 long rifle is feasable..it looks like theres a moderator on it but its not silenced much...i shot a rabbit running once at 130 yards..was a mixture of good lead judgement and luck tho..

Lead occurs naturally (not nice I accept) and has been used for bullets and cold water pipes for hundreds of years.
just went out and re-sighted in the ruger 10-22's. I got both of them to shoot a 4 inch 10 shot group at 100. (one of them shot a 2" 10 shot group but it has a fluted bull barrel). I thought I would try to be cool and stretch it out to 150 and it didn't quite work. somewhere along the way between 100 and 150 the bullets start to drop dramatically. i was holding 1 foot high and getting some shots on target. but its hard to see with a 4x scope.
I love the round, works great for squirrel hunting without dogs, and priced great to. I've always put two good shots into a coyote, it ran a good distance but i did recover it. Very accurate, I can get a 2.5 inch group at 100yards on a good day. Im sure with a better gun they could do better.

just went out and re-sighted in the ruger 10-22's. I got both of them to shoot a 4 inch 10 shot group at 100. (one of them shot a 2" 10 shot group but it has a fluted bull barrel). I thought I would try to be cool and stretch it out to 150 and it didn't quite work. somewhere along the way between 100 and 150 the bullets start to drop dramatically. i was holding 1 foot high and getting some shots on target. but its hard to see with a 4x scope.

I love the round, works great for squirrel hunting without dogs, and priced great to. I've always put two good shots into a coyote, it ran a good distance but i did recover it. Very accurate, I can get a 2.5 inch group at 100yards on a good day. Im sure with a better gun they could do better.

But really. I do hunt probably more then most. Just that it bugs the hell outta me when people from out of my state (not trying to point fingers, but mostly people from down states) come up here to Alaska and hunt just for rack size. I've heard of so many people asking locals if they want the meat because they just want the racks. And to me that's not called hunting, to me the word hunting means killing game to fill the freezer. Killing game just for the racks is called killing.

Yes, actually it is nice logic, if the carrying capacity of an animal in an environment is too high, the population goes into a huge crash when winter comes from lack of food water space and/or shelter. Think of it this way, by killing a few, the majority have a better chance of survival for the more abundance of those 4 major things animals need. Then the animals with best genes for survival can reproduce in spring cause there retarded cousin wasn't hogging all the food.
