  • idk if you know but there's an easier way to lock into the calf crush

  • thats a sambo calf crush.

  • This was Twister side to Truck.

  • I love BJJ although every time I watch a match or an MMA bout and see a move like this my knee automatically dislocates! :)

  • Very nice! I think the Kamikaze part is that you grab the leg you are grapevining before you roll instead of the opposite leg.

  • that is a twister technique.

  • Thats good. I thought you were going for a twister type technique. This is an awesome alternative.

  • if anybody sees this pm me, but don't you think that it seems a very viable option to pull this right out of a leg ride, especially if you already have them broken down, with the leg still in?

  • Works extremely well if they all the way up on the hands and knees and you manage to put one hook. In 90% they'll either hold still and defend the other hook or try to roll under you. If you roll faster than they do (which you should) you end up in that position and ready to crank. This is my bread'n'butter against better higher belts.

  • The name of this move sounds brutal.

  • Is taking the back a option at 0:3 ?

  • @jwoo710 it is and i use it often. when i learned it the instructor called it 'the backpack'. the only difference between going for the calf crank and the backpack is that you ditch the leg halfway through your roll and extend your legs. this brings your opponent right into your rear mount.

usually my opponents are good at defending the omoplata and never turtle, so this is my go-to if i'm trying to take the back.

  • What would be the NHB counters that you'd recommend for this technique?

  • There are many good things about this technique, and like many good techniques it can be improved. Thank you for putting it up. Morthica, with all due respect? Eddie Bravo invented only the TERM "rubber guard",but the technique existed long before his birth. There are medunetr (hieroglyphics) of the ancient Black Egyptians and Ethiopians (Egypt was part of Ethiopia like California is part of the USA) pulling guard,so...

  • On that last part where you roll over, can that be done from half guard where you're the one who's in the other guy's half guard?

  • This is just the standard calf crush, the kamikaze is when you bring your (in this case) left leg up and over his, clamping it down to add pressure to the crush

  • i have to admit there were some unneccesary movements but good sub.

i used this in a tourney but from a different position.

  • ya that's Eddie Bravo's "The Truck." the kamikaze calf crush is from the guard or at least that's where i've only seen it

  • this is my favorite submission move. i use it almost all the time

  • nice, but be careful of the armbar when you reach for the foot with 2 hands at the end :)

  • why do you call it kamikaze? there is no sacrificing anything in this move. you don't roll until you're completely secure, and after you roll you destroy his center

  • Eddie Bravo called. Said you're welcome for the technique.

  • right eddie bravo is the only one who thought of this technique. You do know people were doing rubber guard years ago.

  • cause he invented the technique years ago :)

  • actually that side control that you said "is not bad" can be countered. Look up dead lister's side control escape.

  • Very effective submission with a simple technique. Good job.

  • dude.,.. nice
