It has nothing to do with being pure blood DBGT isnt part of the original manga so they just made shit up. they only need a tail to transform so really its just super oozaru

The only thing a sayan needs to turn a Super Sayan 4 is a tail and the ability to transform into a super sayan.

GT sucks because they screw up Gohan and other characters like Vegeta (that needed a machine to turn Super Sayan 4)
