i was curious as to if you own the cd games or if you download the iso files? and if you download them, how do you get them to work with magic engine? because i am having the worst time ever with that

I ran Exile and Ys from originals, so I'm afraid I can't help on that front.

I don't think XZR is meant to be an acronym. On the title screen it says 'Eguzairu' in katakana behind the letters XZR. I think it's likely that XZR is intended to be read as 'Eguzairu', which is an approximation of 'Exile' in Japanese.

Thankee! Exile's one of those games that's definitely flawed with respect to its core mechanics, but does enough cool things that I ended up digging it anyway.
