@logancmrn It is. X7 and X8 were non-canon games that were made because of high demand for a new game. At the end of X6 Zero was put to sleep and eventually the Elf wars began and Zero became Omega and the real Zero was put into a new body and *insert the entire Zero series plot*

X6, X7, X8, and even Command Mission are canon. Fanatics are the ones that insist they aren't. The series were intended to end with X5, however, Capcom continued the series with X6 without consulting Inafune, where he was forced to retcon various aspects of the storyline.

It could be that Capcom wanted the storyline to be non linear, so they came up with Axl to make that happen. They made the series less serious to detour Fanatics tracking storyline. Kind of like how people discount Zelda on CDI, only that actually is a legitimate reason.

The speculation route. Yeah, I get you. All in all, it doesn't even matter now what with Inafune leaving Capcom and Capcom destroying the franchise. Inafune should take Capcom to court and battle them for rights to the franchise so that he can continue whatever he wanted to do with another company or by himself. Rockman is too good of a franchise to leave in the hands of idiots.

Those who cared more for the game play than storyline, could enjoy continued release of Rockman X games.

@12334jk Only problem is that Zero never says that, and he still doesnt know his "true purpose." When he attacks X he was in a completely different state of mind and afterwards he still has no recollection of why he did what he did. He especially doesn't mention X as one of Light's creations. If he did know that, it would throw the rest of the series out of whack because he would ALWAYS be fighting with himself over what he should do. We dont need another Shadow the Hedgehog...

@12334jk Just to point out zero is better in every possible way. When they fought in X5 X past out and zero got up and fought sigma to protect X. X was taking a stupid nap while Zero did all the work.

@zegamaster1 Yeah X only lived because Zero keeps sacrificing himself to save his ass. Wliy would be like "WHAT THE HELL!!! I BUILT YOU TO KILL X NOT SAVE HIM!!!" X can be modified by armor but Zero was already created powerful so armor isn't necessary.

The word "doujin" encompasses all that deals with fanmade material, really, but over the years it has been more linked to music rather.
