  • @karezza1 UR A Fucking Piece of shit for saying that! I wish I could meet U face to face...... U fuc---g piece of shit! I'd make you into a little boy myself!....... How fuc---g dare you!!!!!

  • Can anyone post a version of this song with Yoko's 'singing' edited out please?

  • Whether you're Catholic, Protestant, "Southern Irish", "Northern Irish", 6 counties or Free State...this song really hits the nail on the head.... War is over.

  • You need to change the description, the IRA did not want the 6 counties to join the ROI, the IRA want to create a new united 32 county Irish Republic...

  • There sure is alot of love in the room..lol

  • SCOUSE NOT ENGLISH PROUD OF ME IRISH HERITAGE UP THE IRA

  • Dam you yoko god dam you!!!!!!!!!!

  • "So flower power didn't work...you start again." This is encouraging for everybody and common sense. If it doesn't work the first time. you get up and do it again. Everybody has been through this.

  • Ohh John why did you sing this? You and Yoko did yourselves or the song any real justice. Joe from Galway but thanks for appreciation our arts.

  • is that yoko singing?what a load of shite.

  • @justforgiveandforget Ask his son Julian, if he thought his father was a great man.

  • @rugbymom75

He grew up without his father with a mom who told him of his father leaving her and him when he became famous. Of course he's angry and has dad issues.

But go ahead and ask Sean Lennon as well (yoko's and john's son) the same question while you're at it if you want to bring opinions into things.

  • @SunliteGuitarist92 His mother lied to him. His father never wanted to leave him his mother and militant aunts made sure Alfie stayed away. John was a stay at home dad with Sean while with Julian, he only saw him a handful of times because as Yoko said Julian made him uncomfortable. She is the bitch that left her kid.

  • This sounds like the version off Lennon Box Set , also on Acoustic( Lennon) album recorded December 10 1971 . I am on this cut playing a floor tom with my hands and singing the chorus. Check out John Sinclair Live (John Lennon) on my favs. Love+Peace Lance 4919

    Just saying :)

  • Yoko sure has a way of ruining a great song.

  • @daddyogrande I know right. Was thinking the same thing.

  • Great song but aghhh! Whats that whining every second verse! Oh ye! Its that gook bitch who seemed to dodge every on of the five bulletts that where loaded into poor John! Get back in the bag at his feet, Ye freak!

  • John Lennon traitor to England

  • John is perfect.

  • I'd love this song if I didn't have to hear YOKO sing! Damn!

  • God Bless John Lennon, Yoko & Paul & Beatles and all good Brits who want to give Ireland back to the Irish.

  • Couple of butthurt english here hating John Lennon for writing about simple historical fact. It's not fair to call him a traitor just because he sympathizes with another country.

  • @93cian

Ironically for one of the greatest campaigners for peace of the 20th century, I think people see John Lennon as a traitor because his view seemed to support the IRA. Also, his view would remove the right of self-determination from most people in Northern Ireland.

  • @SuperTrekNerd Fuck England and FUCK YOU!

  • @stonedpimpdaddy

    I'm not English.

  • @MrBaphomet666 Ok enough people died in the famine for it to be considered Genocide. "There's fish in that water." What are you trying to say? The famine didn't happen? Or perhaps everyone died just to make England look bad. Fuckin idiot!!!

  • @MrBaphomet666 Yes it did. You probably know it as the famine. When Britain refused to drop the tax on all imports coming into Ireland which they did for the first famine 100 years before. It was in order to post-pone the revolution 50 years. Look it up rather than just denying it like the loyalists do.

  • we are not english we are scouse .god bless ireland.ynwa.

  • @roadend78 yes you are English, you idiot

  • Comment removed

  • @roadend78 good man.....the fucking name liverpool was from the welsh "lerpwl" (or older name not 100%)....point is mate...the celts were in liverpool before the english

  • the words of A true SCOUSER

  • John and Paul wrote about this incident because they had Irish heritage and felt like every country should be free and not take over eachother. good for them to say their feelings, especially John here, he's actually brave enough to tell people about genocide and scapegoats- we need more brave souls like Lennon to change the world

  • the ra controlls some of the north they got me my house in west belfast its a completely catholic

  • The British only wanted the north for selfish gain . It was not for the Loyalists BIGOTS either they dont give a shite about that scum who would . it was all about HARLEN @ WOLF import @export . TITANIC FAILED BELFAST PORT CLOSED . so now thats gone . thats the only reason wanted the north and they fucked that up. NOW all they have up north is an unwanted players bill that they cant aford. GO ON HOME BRITISH

  • To the person who posted this video... the war was not for the 6 counties to join the Rep of Ireland at all!! The war IS to install the united IRISH REPUBLIC proclaimed by Pearse and the leaders of 1916!! So the 26 county ROI state is as foreign as the 6 county NI state. Nobody in the north would want to join our corrupt state anyway. The only way forward is a new Ireland!! ÉIRE NUA!! ÉIRE GO BRÁCH!!

  • @Larry2me

In what way is the war still going on?

The majority of people in Northern Ireland want to remain part of the UK, and the majority of people in the Republic of Ireland voted to support the right of the people of NI to determine the sovereignty of NI.

If a majority in NI and if a majority in the ROI both want a 'new Ireland', it should happen - but not before then.

  • @Medeasbiggestfan As long as there are republican's to resist British rule anywhere on this island then the war will go on. It makes no difference whether those who oppose British rule are a majority or a minority. As long as there is a determined few then the martyrs such as Wolfetone, Pearse and Sands will not have died in vain. Whether you're born in Ulster, Connaught, Munster or Leinster we should not accept an occupation that has brought nothing but hardship and death to this island...

  • @Larry2me

If you believe in democracy, it DOES matter if they are in the majority or not!

War will not bring about a united Ireland, only democracy will. If you feel a united Ireland is what is best for all the Irish people, you should convince the people of Northern Ireland to vote for a Republican majority in the Assembly. They'll then hold a referendum on sovereignty in which you can campaign for a united Ireland. Surely this is the best route to what you want?

  • R.I.P. F. Hughes.

  • Yoko sounds like a deying cat:/

  • @calcium4lyf and you sound like a DEAD cat.

  • @calcium4lyf

What's yellow and feeds on dead beetles?

    Yoko Ono.

  • God Yoko ruins this song.

  • Goddamn, people! We've got to get past this.

  • God bless the IRA

  • Oh can we please stop arguing and listen to the music?

  • good video

  • GO JOHN LENNON!!

  • INLA = history books.

  • me da`s in this video at 1:42

  • Pussies who defeated the terrorist ira.

  • Lowland f*ck.

  • Freedom for Ireland and Scotland! Fuck the Union Jack!

    Support from Germany!

  • Ireland and Scotland are free already. The people have the right to decide which country, if any, they want to belong.

How would you like it if I said 'Free Saxony, Free Bavaria'?

  • Medeasbiggestfan: If the majority in northern Ireland would declear their reunion to the rest of Ireland there will be war. The english goverment will attack Ireland by sending more occupation troups to Northwest Ireland. The same would happen in scotland. The english goverment dont accept an irish or scottish authority. But the people dont want to risk a war. Thats why they are still quiet and try to find a way on elections (SNP or Sinn Fein).

  • That's complete rubbish. The people aren't afraid that leaving the UK would lead to war. What are you basing this on?

There are no troops on active duty in Northern Ireland, Scotland or any other part of the UK.

The British Government might have used force to maintain the union 90 years ago, but times and people have changed. The UK government of today has said time and again that it respects the right of self-determination of all the constituent countries of the UK.

  • Medeasbiggestfan: The truth is: The UK is an artificial subject. You know it. The UKs territory and the area of the "english power" is going to be smaller and smaller through the years. In the end there will be only england and maybe Wales. There was a time when a quarter of the earth belongs to the british empire. I bet that the english goverment is afraid of the coming low-power-time in the next years after scotland declears their independence and ireland finds a peaceful way to reunion.

  • You say the UK is artificial, but most modern countires are. Germany is made up of 16 Lander, the US is made of 50 states, the UK is made up of 4 consituent nations.

Remember that the British government willingly gave up the Empire, it was not taken and it did not fall like all previous Empires.

I doubt Scotland will leave the UK any time soon, why would they want to? The UK is one of the riches countries in the world, has a seat on the UN security council and is a member of the G8.

  • Medeasbiggestfan: Germany is more than 2.000 years old. The artificial "UK" is based on war, war crime, violence and occupation - until these days as you can see it in Northwest Ireland. The German nation is natural growing like an old pride tree. The Germans built the nation voluntarily. Politicaly and on the culture way. Only the army is the guarantee for the existence of the "UK" and not the will of the citiziens in Scotland or Ireland. Take your military home and you'll see what will happen.

  • I think Germeny many have violently occupied a few places in the past. Also, Germany hasn't been one country for 2000 years, it was a group of nations for a long time.

How a nation was formed in the past doesn't matter as much as how the people feel today, and today the majority of people in the UK want to remain as one country.

As I said, there are no troops on active duty anywhere in the UK and the majority of people in Scotland and Northern Ireland want to be part of the UK.

  • Germany was a culture nation in the past, it doesnt need a state to have a nation. the german area is grown in history as you can read it in the "anthem of the Germans" from 1841 written by a german poet:

From the Maas to the Memel

From the Etsch to the Belt,

So there is no nation called UK or GB just a artificial political organisation with that name. Look to your "Union Jack". Some national flags were just put together. The UK will have a breakdown one day.

  • By that logic, the United States is an 'artificial political organisation' as it is made up of 50 states. Do you think the US will 'have to break up one day'?

Italy was many separate nations until 1861. Do you think Italy is artifical?

Britain has been united as one nation since 1707 (longer than the US and Italy) in that time it was the world's foremost power for many years and British culture has influenced most nations.

The UK will exist for as long as its people want it to.

  • Medeasbiggestfan: In the USA there are some groups like the Spanish. This brings their society a seperate spanish society. Its possible that they want to have independence, something like a second spain. They may vote only for spanish politicans in the USA. A nation needs a leading culture like in Germany. The immigrants have to live the German way, if not they must go home. Thats it. So the Irish and the Scots must have a nation on their own. Their are not english.

  • The Spanish groups in the US want to be American, just like the Scots, Welsh and English want to be British.

Of course the Scots are not English and the English are not Scots, but they are all British. England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland all have their own culture but there is also a British culture which unities the UK.

In the same way I am sure Bremen and Bavaria have their own cultures but are united by a German culture.

  • Medeasbiggestfan: Thats your view, the view of a citizien of the occupation country. "Its ours". The english doesnt have any respect for the will of the Scots and the Irish. If the Scots want to be British tell me why is there the SNP who where elected by a lot of Scottish voters? More and more vote for the SNP. It doenst need a SNP if they want to be british. Bremen and Bavaria are voluntarily together in Germany. The english soldiers have to leave north west ireland. Its Ireland and not GB.

  • People voted for the SNP because they disliked the incumbent Labour party. Even then, the SNP have never received over 50% of the vote and don't have a majority in the Scotish parliament.

No part of the UK is occupied, there are no soldiers on active duty anywhere in the UK. Also, the Republic of Ireland would not allow Northern Ireland to join them without the concent of the majoirty of people who live there (it would go against Article 3.1 of the Irish Constiution otherwise).

  • Medeasbiggestfan: The english soldiers stay in Ireland because they want to be ready for a war against Ireland. Imagine the war England vs. Argentina in Falkland. Just a small island far far away from England but the english see this foreign area as english territory. The same would happen in Belfast: War. So its better to stay now at the possible place of war. If the goverment dont plan a war they would send the soldiers homewards. Police is enough for a peace policy in north west ireland.

  • The people in the Falklands all wanted to remain a self-governing BOT, but they were invaded by the facist military dictatorship of Argentina who occupied them. Britain went to war because the right of self-determination of the Falklanders had been removed by force and they waned to be freed.

What makes you think the British Government would go to war if a majority in Northern Ireland wanted to leave? To do so would go against the right of self-determination which the UK has vowed to respect.

  • You need Soldiers only for war. Why are there soldiers when the goverment support the right of self-determination really? The soldiers shall be ready for war against Ireland if the english authority will be under threat by irish freedom fighters. If the goverment want to make a peace policy then the soldiers dont have to stay there. Police forces will be enough for the safety. The goverment is planning a military defence attack to Ireland if its needed for the safety of the english authority.

  • As I have said many times before, there are no troops on active duty anywhere in the UK.

Soldiers are stationed in bases across the UK for training and to be deployed to other countries, like Afghanistan where they support German troops.

This is not just true in the UK, the are German Army and Luftwaffe bases in all states of Germany.

  • @Medeasbiggestfan The German army is in Germany. Thats normal. The German states are based on the ethnic German groups which were grown through the centuries. But England or Great England or Great Britain occupied Scotland and Ireland. You dont respect the self determination of Countries. Watch back before the independence of India. The english killed thousands of people in India just because they want freedom. Thats why the english troops are in Ireland.

  • @Iron1871

Germany ignored the right of self-determination in the last century, but it respects it today. The same is true of the UK.

You realise that (as I write this) the UK Prime Minister is Scottish, the UK Chancellor is Scottish and the UK has a half Scottish/half German monarch. Also, Scottish, Welsh, and Northern Irish MPs have far more power over England than English MPs have over Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.

  • @Medeasbiggestfan A scottish PM can only be a scottish PM for Scotland and not for Great England. The Nazis ignored the right of self determination. You cant put Nazis and Germans together. There is a truth you have to know. During Hitler time there was a German resistance and most of the German were not a party member. In the Nürnberg council after WW2 the Germans as whole were not judged only the nazi party.

Some english respect the self determination for Scotland and Ireland.

  • @Iron1871

The UK government respects the right of self-determination for the people of Scotland and Northern Ireland, Wales and England. If a majority of people in any of those countries wanted their homeland to leave the UK, it would happen.

You are the one who wants to go against self-determination. You are the one who wants the UK to split apart even though most people in the UK want to remain one sovereign state.

  • @Medeasbiggestfan The "UK" have to be splitted because the Irish and the Scots are not english. The UK-breakdown will happen in the next 10 years. First the Scots will leave Great England then the Irish will find a way to freedom.

England have to go back in its own borders.

  • @Iron1871

Who says the UK has to split? If a majority of people in each of the nations of the UK want to be one united sovereign state, why can't they?

The people of Northern Ireland are free now, they have all the rights and freedoms of every EU citizen.

  • @Medeasbiggestfan We cant come together, you think that the "UK" is a legal union and i think that Scots and Irish are not english. The "UK" is Great England. We will see how long the "UK" is able to stay in power. The Scots will leave the "UK" soon. Hopefully. And you cant stop the freedom process in Ireland.

  • @Iron1871

I don't think the Scots and Irish are English either. England is just one part of the UK, the same way Texas is just one part of the US. If a majority in Scotland ever wanted independence they would have it.

I don't want to stop freedom in Ireland, nor does the UK government. If a majority in Northern Ireland ever wanted a united Ireland, it would happen.

The UK only exists with the consent of a majority of people in each of its nations.

  • @Medeasbiggestfan If the great english goverment really wants freedom for Ireland than they could take the english soldiers home. Police is engough for security. The Irish army will defend north eastern Ireland. Belfast is Irish, not english!

  • @Iron1871

All Policing and Justice in Northern Ireland is the responsibility of the Northern Ireland Assembly, which is elected by the people of Northern Ireland. There are no troops on active duty in Northern Ireland.

I suggest you read Article 3.1 of the Constitution of Ireland which says a united Ireland can only come about if a majority in Northern Ireland vote for it. So it would be unconstitutional for the Republic of Ireland to send troops to Belfast.

  • @Medeasbiggestfan We cant find the same opinion. You think on the level of english world empire policy and i think about the right of self determination.

You will remenber me when Ireland and Scotland will got their day of freedom.

  • @Iron1871

I do NOT support any 'empire policy'. I support right of self determination!! If a majority of people in Scotland ever voted to become an independent nation, I think it should happen. If a majority of people in Northern Ireland ever voted to unite with the Republic of Ireland, I think it should happen!!

You are the one who does not support self-determination, you are the one who wants Scotland and Northern Ireland to leave the UK against the will of the people in those places.

  • @Medeasbiggestfan its the majority of people of ireland .. NI isn't a real country, only reason it even exits is because sum welsh twat pansied out of making an actual decision, typical brit, fucking coward

  • @SuperHunt88

Most of the people in Northern Ireland today were born with the current border in place, and a majority of them want it to remain where it is.

A majority of people in the Republic of Ireland voted to support the right of the people of Northern Ireland to determine their own sovereignty.

  • There is no English Government or English Parliament!!! Its the BRITISH Government, the BRITISH Parliament - there is a difference you know. Non-English Brits like me find it very annoying when people get that mixed up.

And the British Government doesn't care about keeping Northern Ireland - not any more. Its the people in Northern Ireland who what to stay in the UK. The UK can't give them up and the Republic can't take them over until a majority in NI vote for it.

  • @SuperTrekNerd Are you getting pid to defend monarchies all around youtube?

  • @moooh2008

Read carefully. I'm not defending the monarchy specifically on this video, I'm defending the right of the people of England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales to determine whether their homelands remain part of the UK or not.

  • @SuperTrekNerd You just said somewhere else that they are happy to be British

    Stop it

  • @moooh2008

I am proud to be British! Again, I say read what I have said.

I want all the nations of the UK to remain united. But if ever a majority of people in any of those nations wanted to leave the UK, they have that right.

  • @SuperTrekNerd Stop lying, we had a discussion in another page and you just said that Scottish, Irish and Walsh peoples don't want to leave the UK

  • @moooh2008

They don't want to leave the UK! I don't want them to leave the UK! But if they ever changed their minds, they have the right to leave.

  • @Medeasbiggestfan Rubbish

  • @moooh2008

    What's rubbish about it?

  • @Medeasbiggestfan Decades of war in Ireland and you ask what rubbish in it?

  • @moooh2008

There is no war in Ireland any more. Just read the Belfast agreement.

  • @Medeasbiggestfan Rubbish again, refer to the real IRA

  • @moooh2008

The Real IRA have very little support in Northern Ireland. It would be wrong to call their attacks a 'war'.

  • Comment removed

  • @Medeasbiggestfan Rubbish again and again

  • @moooh2008

What's rubbish about what I have said?

The fact is, the majoirty of people in Northern Ireland want to remain part of the UK, and the majority of people in the Republic of Ireland respect the views of the people in the north.

  • @Medeasbiggestfan RUBBISH AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN

  • @moooh2008

    Which part?

  • @moooh2008

It's not rubbish at all. The people of Northern Ireland have always elected a unionist majority in the Assembly and to Parliament.

In 1998 the people of the Republic of Ireland voted to change their constitution to say that it is the people of Northern Ireland who should determine the sovereignty of that place.

  • @SuperTrekNerd Rubbish again

Refer to the elections results and you will find that the Sinn Féin had more voters than the unionists though they had the majority of the seats. Something wrong in the voting system as the lib democrats keep saying

  • @moooh2008

    In the 2010 general election:

    SF + SDLP = 42%

    DUP + UUP + TUP = 44%

Sinn Fein had most votes because the unionist vote split three ways. No one, not even the most hardline Republicans, say most people in Northern Ireland want a united Ireland.

Do you really believe the majoirty of people in Northern Ireland want to leave the UK and join with the Repuiblic?

  • @SuperTrekNerd Most of the protestants want to remain in the UK. Most of the catholics want to join the republic

Simple as it is, take it or leave it

  • @moooh2008

And the Protestants are in the majority in Northern Ireland. So how can it be 'rubbish' to say most people in Northern Ireland want to remain part of the UK?

How can it be 'rubbish' to say most people in the Republic of Ireland respect the views of those in the north?

  • @SuperTrekNerd Not all the protestants who live in Northern Ireland are Irish

  • @moooh2008

I never said they were. Most of the Protestants who live in Northern Ireland refer to themselves as 'British' - they were born in Northern Ireland however.

  • @SuperTrekNerd Then you agree that the British governement used ethnic cleansing to control Northern Ireland

  • @moooh2008

No I don't!! What makes you believe I think that?

I think people should determine the sovereignty of their birthplace, regardless of their religion or ethnic origin.

  • Comment removed

  • @moooh2008

So you think Americans of European and Asian descent should be banned from having a say in the sovereignty of the United States?

Why should people lose their rights because their ancestors were born in the 'wrong' place?

  • @SuperTrekNerd the United States was not occupied by African and Asians; Ireland was illegally occupied by the English people

  • @moooh2008

Northern Ireland was planted mainly by Scots (not English people) in the same way the American Colonies were planted by Europeans.

Why should people in Northern Ireland be punished for the actions of their ancestors?

  • @SuperTrekNerd Why should Irish people pay for English Imperialism costs

  • @moooh2008

As I have said, the Irish people respect the will of the people of Northern Ireland to determine the sovereignty of their birthplace.
