Funny reading all the posts on here. The Chinese are getting cocky. The perception of us "Fat Westerners" is astounding. We are not all lazy, pink or fat. I hear things in China are not so peachy either. The state owns your banks, in fact, it owns everything. There are massive food shortages. Industry is poisoning your land slowly. The government officials are very corrupt. The US politicians are as well. But we can say so and not worry about disappearing.

Before the US help, Japan has yet to cross the Yangtze River. (They still have 2/3 China more to go) Also, China had two forces as one is Kuomintang under Sheik and Communist under Mao. @TheMrShane1 The Nationalist kept 320,000 Jpanese grond forces ay bay when the US helped, so it was a mutual alliance just like the US with Britain. If you stil want to argue "saved" then why is China Communist today? Yes, it is because the US saw 2.3 million Red Army flood into the Fujian province and left the Nationalists to fend for themselves, which ultimately had them retreat to Taiwan. I applaud your Patriotism, but not all things are as they seem. Should I say the US lost Korea and Nam?

The US wanted to stop the spread of Communism, but failed to do so due to heavy political pressure at home, and the interference of the massive Chinese horde army which caused heavy casulaties on both sides. All we are doing today is minding our own business and doing it our way. We never want to be top dog, but we do want to modernize our military to prevent future invasions and fight anyone who interferes with out backyard business such as Taiwan.

The US helped to liberate half of Europe but victory was inevitable, what with Russia's 25,000 tanks!

I am an american soldier and have been to China a couple times and I really like it there and like the people. I hope we don't have to go to war in the future over anything stupid.
People in the US get freaked out whenever anyone else starts to develop anything resembling a functioning military or economy. I will say that we are becoming far too dependant on trade with China but thats our fault anyways.

I see good and bad on both sides and the US is still the leader in many areas despite the economic woes. The US government however is wasting precious resource and good soldiers in campaigns which yields nothing whereas we invest internally, thus the difference in GDP growth, revenues, and debt differential. No war unless over Taiwan.
