  • You met Liv Ulman? I am sooo jealous. Her performance in Face to Face was incredibke.

  • Absolutely shocked as to why Liv Ullman did not get an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress that year of 1966 (and the same goes for Nanette Newman for "The Wrong Box"). Guess who the Academy gave the nomination to? Vivien Merchant for "Alfie"; who had one scene in that movie-Ullman's in every freaking scene in "Persona"! Not only that, but I think Ullman was better than the winner Sandy Dennis ("Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?")-considering that I don't remember a moment that was great.

  • It's so beautiful! well made.

  • If Liv Ullmann was born in Tokyo, but was raised in Norway, does that make her part Japanese?

  • Strange... I just thought about Liv Ullman today, and looked on youtube. It's hard to express what she and Ingmar Bergman did for me as a teenager seeing Persona for the first time. I didn't know how powerful and emotionally compelling the cinema could be, it helped me decide that I wanted to make films later. Liv and Ingmar are so inseparable in that the two parts are so much more as a whole. True genius. Glad to see people still remember these great people/films.

  • norwegian wood

  • From the Golden Circle of Actresses of the 20th Century that had the fortune to be directed by a true God, Ingmar Bergman

  • Absolutely brilliant, my thoughts will find their way to this film every now and then (in one way or another) such a gem... and an exceptionally great performance by her and really everyone involved in the making of it.

  • Great video, congratulation!

  • Wow, nice video, you really know hoe to size the particules around here...

  • Best actress of all time!

    And lovely soul too..

  • Liv che bella donna che sei!!!

  • Liv is so beautiful.

  • I can't believe the Academy Awards in 1966 nominated Vivien Merchant for Best Supporting Actress for "Alfie" when it should of been Liv Ullman for this movie. Doesn't anyone realize that Merchant was seen only once in the former film while Ullman is in the entire latter film-and says only THREE words! Now how can that not be Oscar worthy? I think had she been nominated she would of beaten Sandy Dennis (for "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?") for the award if the Academy had a heart!

  • Lovely.

Wonderfully done, celestialsteed - and thank you for introducing me to such a beautiful song!

  • Não é sem motivo que a divina Liv é minha atriz preferida. Maravilhosa!

  • This is EXCELLENT! Good editing, good choice of music. I had the pleasure of talking to Ms. Ullmann a couple weeks ago at the Sarasota film Festival where she was being honored. I had a wonderful conversation with her about LOST HORIZON. She had a wonderful sense of humor about it and was very glad she made the picture despite it's reputation. It was wonderful meeting her.

  • I'm jealous beyond belief. :) I 'only' met her daughter. Equally wonderful I suppose.

Thank you for your kind comment.

  • I met shortly Liv a few times where I work. She is gorgeous, easy to talk to, good sence of humor and down to earth.. Isn`t she lovely?

  • exellent!!

  • Just because you guys are going to play cut-and-paste paper dolls and call it tribute, doesn't mean we all have to sit back and shut up. You're reducing complex imagery and thought to MTV pap. If that's all you can do to be "creative" it's pretty pitiful.

  • While I agree with you unclealand you have to appreciate that this may entice a MTV generation person to do more research into Ingmar Bergman films.

Oh how badly they need stuff like this.

  • There is no proof that using the works of other artists to make cut-and-paste videos inspires anyone to "research" anything. Sorry, but it only serves to shorten already limited spans of attention.

  • Then give me the pleasure of proving you wrong here.

    ROLL CALL!

Everyone watching this please reply here if you looked up either Liv Ullmann or Ingmar Bergman after watching this.

Bonus points if you actually go out and rent one of their films.

And you are a rock star if you actually go out and buy a copy!

  • I'm dealing with someone who regards "rock star" as a high complement (Did you vote Madonna into the Hall of Fame?), and who appears to believe "looking up" names on the internet is the same as understanding and studying classic films.

  • So what is your "fantastic method" of getting people interested?

Or would you rather sit in the corner and despair over the state of the world to strangers?

  • As far a Madonna goes, art died the day she called herself an artist.

  • You really needed to improve Ingmar Bergman's work by reducing it do a video with sickening music? What did he ever do to you?

  • No one is forcing you to see it. :)

  • Really sad that you did that to an Ingmar Bergman film. You really trivialize his work. Please crap on some other director's stuff, will you? This is sick.

  • I'm glad there is someone like you out there who leads the crusade against the evil youtube tribute videos. Keep up the good work. :)

  • He wouldn't care about such trivial things as youtube videos, to be honest. And seeing as you cannot read, it's not a tribute to Bergman, but Liv Ullmann and her beautiful performance. But keep frothing, if it makes you feel better. :)

  • Sorry "celestialsteed", this message (above or below, don't know now) is for "unclealand".

  • I mean - I send message to you instead uncle aland (my b...y poor english!)

  • It's all right. :) I don't think you should pay attention to this nethussar, though. Look how upset he is about a video on youtube. Imagine if it was an actual serious issue. ;)

  • are you sure about mystery of afterlife?? keep your beliefs for yourself and leave others to express themself, if you have any respect for ANY art form.

  • You're not paying homage to anyone. You're playing electronic paper dolls. Bergman and Ullman would both be disgusted at this cut-and-paste kindergarten idea of creativity.

  • so what? leave expressions -- breeeeze - life continue - experiments are always wonderful. You never know what kind of Angel or Demon will influence yours/his soul in the end.

Description or "clever" concept is worse than haos or mistake.

  • Your last sentence says all we need to know about you.

  • ha ha ha

  • dude lighten up. You sound like one of those smug art snobs. Get over it. People are going to make video tributes so go cry some more.
