It will be interesting to see how well it does. It's graphics are defininately great and the UI very polished. Combat looks more dynamic than traditional MMO's. My only concern is how well doing away with the tank, healer, dps roles will work.

GW don't need stupid artifices like some games because it has an original good and intelligent gameplay, cool graphics, real and original story and world etc...Many people play WoW because it's called "Warcraft. I was one of them... just for 5 hours maybe. It combined everything that was good for an MMO in 2005 with all the bad points that automatically come with (and that GW2 will vanish), and that's all, nothing more interesting.
GW has nothing to envy to other games.It has its own style.

And the major reason GW is like that is because it is NOT f2p, It's B2P. Which means that new content can be added just as often through yearly expansions, which cost a box fee.
Now since we know this, if Arenanet had decided to keep getting lots of money from a 6 year old game, instead of making a new game that fixed the original's problems, they would have kept putting out an expansion every year. So, for 6 years of guild wars content? 240$. 6 years of the same amount of WoW content? 1104$.

Breath of fire 2. Had a story longer and better than two Harry Potter volumes together. FF3 or any game that followed the wish to actually present something other than "looks". Where are they?

Here they are! The game is very gear dependent, and the way you get better gear is through raiding, which you use to raid some more for the new gear that came out while you were grinding for the old new gear. Or you stop and do some PvP, but then you start getting killed because you don't have the right gear, because you've been "wasting" your time pvping! So you'd better get back on that raid track, because you're paying monthly for this so you should maximize your time!!!!!!!!
That's what I don't like about it and other games like it. They are designed to keep you feeling like you have to play to get your moneys worth, and if you think about stopping then you realize how much money you paid to get to that point and you CAN'T just quit now! I don't hate WoW for the fact that it's combat is old, I hate it because it has had a huge company with piles of money behind it and 3 expansions and it doesn't play better!
I don't care about a retro game's gameplay being boring in comparison to soemthing modern because I know that a single-player game is completely static. But Blizzard has the time and ability to fix things. But they don't. Even so, I would be TOTALLY fine with that if the game cost less to play now because it's old and out of date. loved guildwars pvp, but it got crashed by Arenanet :(the PvE was okey but once you finished all the 4 games (which i did) you realize it's WAY too short :/

Yes. learning new skills is a part of every game no matter what game it is. But what i mean is that the actually gameplay in guildwars "revolves" around changing up your skill set to fit a scenario. Where as the gameplay in wow is a grind to get better gear. Does that make more sense? For example in wow you have 3 specs and if you want to change, you have to pay. in GW you just enter a city and change them in the menu in seconds.
Don't compare this to WoW. Man, it gets old. WoW and GW are two completely different games. WoW is about grinding for days and days to get gear that makes you strong. Guild Wars is about learning skills and how to make a build (that you can change for free anytime in a city) that works well in any given setting. GW is more action and skill based. You can't say one is "better" than the other. They are both great and "different" games. It woudl be like comparing COD4 to team fortress 2.
Well wow is a shitty game in the sense that it's about getting people who should get out to stay inside even longer and grind, grind and grind, did I say grind?
But it has a bit more community over Guildwars. Ofcourse nothing like Everquest, Ultima onlnie or old Tibia.
No point in playing that game really. But so many do it, you can't really say it's shitty. It's about taste I guess.
In WoW on my Mage I have well over 40+ different keybinds and macros that I have to use in order to be skilled in PvP.
2v2, 3v3 and 5v5 Arena can get pretty damn complicated having to keep track of everyone, controlling someone, damaging the other guy, silencing, stunning, reflex-based counters, etc etc...it's pretty fast paced. There's a reason WoW Arena has been scaled to E-Sport Tournament levels and these tournaments are HUGE.
I don't think this can be compared to WoW. Guild Wars has another kind of graphics and includes way more tactical stuff, while WoW gives you way more freedom.
They are both unique in their own way, and it's just what you like.
Kindof, level 20 is the highest you can get to, basically you start off on a large but starter island and when you get near to lvl 20 you go to the main island. But i think the bit before lvl 20 is best because you get new stuff all the time

i havent tested them tho cause i'm not sure wether their english or korean in lang.

GW is a great game but it got me a bit bored because there is little to do when you have finished all the 4 games.
now just waiting for GW 2 and hope they have added some more stuff to do when you hit high(or max) lvl :)

loved guildwars pvp, but it got crashed by Arenanet :(the PvE was okey but once you finished all the 4 games (which i did) you realize it's WAY too short :/

i played gw and i play wow at the moment
i must say that gw's pvp side is much better you wanna know why ? because it aint gear depended you wanna go some where just invite 8 people that you need and you can have some fun
with wow it aint like that it's realy gear depended for pvp and pve dont get me wrong i like wow alot but i think wow can learn alot from guild wars pvp wise because atm wow = a pve gear and wile the pvp side is very populair aswell
...ow well i wait for gw2 for now :)

gw is more challenging then wow will ever be... therefore it is not only for kids but................................... not saying that wow aint good. i luved it.. i even think gw could learn a couple things from it , but gw is definatly more for the older people than wow :/ because of difficulty ... thats my opinion..

@manuscripts to be perfectly honest any mmorpg is for "kids", but thats what they said about pokemon and you still see middle age people playing the card game. Its really all about what someone enjoys doing as a hobby(or an addiction for some?).

Yes. learning new skills is a part of every game no matter what game it is. But what i mean is that the actually gameplay in guildwars "revolves" around changing up your skill set to fit a scenario. Where as the gameplay in wow is a grind to get better gear. Does that make more sense? For example in wow you have 3 specs and if you want to change, you have to pay. in GW you just enter a city and change them in the menu in seconds.

Don't compare this to WoW. Man, it gets old. WoW and GW are two completely different games. WoW is about grinding for days and days to get gear that makes you strong. Guild Wars is about learning skills and how to make a build (that you can change for free anytime in a city) that works well in any given setting. GW is more action and skill based. You can't say one is "better" than the other. They are both great and "different" games. It woudl be like comparing COD4 to team fortress 2.

Well wow is a shitty game in the sense that it's about getting people who should get out to stay inside even longer and grind, grind and grind, did I say grind?
But it has a bit more community over Guildwars. Ofcourse nothing like Everquest, Ultima onlnie or old Tibia.
No point in playing that game really. But so many do it, you can't really say it's shitty. It's about taste I guess.

In WoW on my Mage I have well over 40+ different keybinds and macros that I have to use in order to be skilled in PvP.
2v2, 3v3 and 5v5 Arena can get pretty damn complicated having to keep track of everyone, controlling someone, damaging the other guy, silencing, stunning, reflex-based counters, etc etc...it's pretty fast paced. There's a reason WoW Arena has been scaled to E-Sport Tournament levels and these tournaments are HUGE.

I don't think this can be compared to WoW. Guild Wars has another kind of graphics and includes way more tactical stuff, while WoW gives you way more freedom.
They are both unique in their own way, and it's just what you like.

Kindof, level 20 is the highest you can get to, basically you start off on a large but starter island and when you get near to lvl 20 you go to the main island. But i think the bit before lvl 20 is best because you get new stuff all the time
