  • Thank you so much for sharing ^ - ^

  • How do you say i like your band in french?

  • Comment removed

  • every noun in French has a gender, and there is no rules and regulations for it——that's the first tragedy for learning French as a second language....囧rz

  • @shanghaidenver leave thinking on it first of all you mixed all of them this is not a problem, say some thing make sentence , dont realize your thinking on gendre , just like what your heart want la le un une. first time , after you recognise it then u will remind . good luck , i also new learner of french , very good teacher .

  • i like the fact that you put a picture when you show the french word, you should punt animated moving pictures to help people remember better

  • gladly, my main language is spanish so knowing what genre belong to a word won't be as hard as I was a native English speaker.

    Thanks for the videos!

  • Thank you so much! You learn me so much more than my teacher! I think I can pass my test with your help!! THANK YOU!! :D

  • THE PEOPLE WANT MORE VIDEOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:) BECAUSE THIS IS AMAZING

    THUMBS UP

  • are you actually french?

  • @candacetravis1 most likely. his french accent is flawless

  • keep the video's coming!!

  • Thank you so much :)

  • the teacher has 99% purged his french accent. he sounds nearly american, he doesn't sound like arsne wenger, for example.

  • how can a ball be a girl

  • Oh gosh, there is no rule to masculine or Feminine..... I guess ive been spoiled by spanish, though at least there is only 2, 1 less then german xDD

  • this is weird, firs you say that "une" makes the "un" sound, but when you say

"c'est une main" une makes a une sound

now i had understood that "ai" makes an "eh" sound, and here it makes the "ah" sound

  • @1221kary That's because "ai" = "eh" like in "aime" = "eh-m", but if you have a word that ends in "ain" it sounds like a nasal "ah" like in "le pain" = "leh pah", hope it helps

  • @JustGabe ok i get it, merci

  • I HAVE A QUESTION...

CAN BE? : C'est LE Monde? or Ce Sont/ C'est LES Lunettes?

OR is only un/une for singular

    and des for plural?

  • Razoir is incorrect. It's : Rasoir.

  • leçons d'anglais américain ---> /watch?v=6cBwYES1gzQ&feature :)

  • my french teacher is very good, so i know all of this already

  • @randomperson967 I doubt your teacher does not charge you though...

  • @ivanovpi why would my mom charge me?

  • I how do you make the sentence you like music to do you like music?

  • @katyasinger

Est-ce que tu aimes la musique?

Tu aimes la musique? Here the question is in the intonation.

Estr-ce que vous aimez la musique? (formal)

    Vous aimez la musique?

  • I have trouble making my "r" sounds sound like yours! Help!

  • Man this vid is greate i have learnt very much from these lessons

than i do in school. i guess i its because my french teacher never

explaines what she sais and keeps talking in french thinking that we

all undrestand. She always asks us do we undrestand and we

say no then she sais the same thing again in french! Stupid

    teacher.

  • @gemerx xD I guess the same teacher teaches you English as well :P

  • Your videos are really helpful, thanks!

Actually, how should I say: "c'est plus facile que vous ne le pensez" or "c'est plus facile que vous le pensez"?

  • I disagree. There are some ways in which the ending of the noun gives away the gender of the noun. Instead of simply taking a chance, there are some rules in which one can figure the gender of the noun. Of course, there are exceptions, in which one can use the article to learn the gender.

  • @BuddyNovinski There are so many exceptions to the rules you are mentioning that it is more confusing than helping. As a French native, I can tell you that we do not rely on those rules to learn the gender of nouns. Instead we learn the noun with the article and memorize it that way.

  • lmao why is boxer feminine?

  • Excuse me I am italian and I study French......Mais en Français "ai" on ne dit pas "e"?????? Tu me peux repondre dans la langue qui tu veux.....Mais je préfère l' Anglais ou l'Italien.......And at the end is A'...not A......si je ne me trompe pas..

  • I have just started learned french with this videos .

nice voice, simple transfer, everything is GREAT.

  • @2455HannerdMusic

I'm french and I'm afraid there's nothing to understand, it's this way and you have to learn it. French is a little complicated ...

  • Video is great and the dessert looks incredibly delicious.

  • Thank you so much for posting these videos. I am trying to learn french and I watch them every day.

  • My family is French so this helps so I can speak French around my house:)

  • Si un personne a oublié le gendre d'un mot, ou on ne sait pas le gendre, peut-on utiliser "le"? Je suis un américain élève de français II, et j'ai des problemes avec gendre. Je vous remercie de m'aider. ~Jérôme

  • @twilightFAN26492 When learning a new word, it's important to learn it with the article (le or la). If you don't know the gender, you can use le. People will still understand what you mean.

  • @jefrench10

Thank you so much for posting these videos, your method of teaching is wonderful, the way you have organized the lessons, makes it easier to understand. I hope you post more particularly about the grammar. Thank you again.

  • @jefrench10 are u french if so ur english is like amazing and these videos are really helping

  • Merci beucoup pour les lesons vous me faire comprire les grammer et comme je peut parler cette langue :-)

  • I feel like I need a notebook... Any techniques on how to learn a single lesson fast? It feels like taking notes is the best way.

  • @hbar45 Of course you can take notes... but I would recommend just repeating after me. In the more recent video lessons (on the site), I always have the English translation under the French text. This video is meant to give you a short introduction to the French language. So just have fun with it...

  • @jefrench10

  • @jefrench10 do u think learning the language will be hard was it hard for you or are you from france?

  • @hbar45 Leeeeaaaarning is the BEST way

  • Thanks alot alot your videos are so helpful and useful

  • So ''souris'' could mean ''the mouse'' and ''to smile''?

  • @Vojak3 Depending on if you use it as a verb or a noun, yes.

  • do you pronounce the T on the end of c'est like you are in the video? i have been taught otherwise even if it is before a vowel beginning word.

  • @XxKuzaxX You can make the liaison if it's followed by a vowel. yes.

  • Yummy !! 0:14

  • Thank you very much,i am a 11 year old and i have been having trouble with my homework so i looked up French lesson 1 and this video popped up so i clicked it and it turned out to be very very helpful.Je taime ca becoup.Merci.I will suscribe and like

  • Je suis en train d'étudier le francais à Bangalore en Inde. Ces videos sont très beaux. Merci :)

  • Pfft, 'motards'. XD

    Very helpful videos.

  • Generally, if there is an 'e' at end of word, thats a feminine word.

  • u r the best......

  • very good video i learnt a lot from it very clear

  • In the word “L’hotesse” he didn’t pronounce the “h” or the “o”. I understand that the “H” is silent, but how do you know when not to pronounce the “O” or is it when you have a “ho” combination you don’t pronounce them? Can anyone help me with this?

  • @conrad2004a

i cannot understand your problem. he said 'l'hotesse' (pronouncing: lotess) so, you see, just the 'h' is silent and there isnt any word with an 'ho' combination where the 'o' isnt pronounced. and sometimes they are speaking with a strong accent, so youll understand something that doesnt exist. i hope i could help. : )

  • About the gender, with le and la, its not true that there are no rules for knowing. I took french 1 at my school this year (im watching these to brush up before french 2 next year...) but there are some ways to tell whether they are feminine or not. Many times (not all times) if the word ends with an e, it will be feminine. I learned a couple other ones in class but I forgot them. Although, you are right, you do have to learn it that way, but there are some hints.

  • hello, i'd love to get info on your paid course but have not received an answer to my email, does your course teach from beginner all the way to advanced? pls rsvp, thanks

  • well how are you supposed to know what one it is?!?!? I dont care if I sound stupid I will say them how ever! lol

  • two things:

A: has anyone noticed that french is similar to spanish?, I took spanish during the school year, now I'm doing these videos so that I dont waste my summer, I think spanish really prepared me for this because i'm already used to the different forms for words, this is so easy, I reccommend to anyone to take spanish for two years, and then this.

B: on the one where you wrote "un train" I hear you say "un cah" did you accidently put the english word in print instead of the french one

  • @GregGrassland - of course they are similar, because they are both Romance languages, derived from Latin. So is Portuguese, Italian, Sicilian, Romanian, etc.

  • @GregGrassland They're both based on Latin. That's why.

Both of these languages are called Romance language.

Likewise with Italian, Portuguese, and Romanian.

  • @GregGrassland I'm French (i'm just watching this for fun :D). French word for "train" is "train", it's just prononced differently.

  • is there anybody who wants to help me with french??? please...thank you...x

  • thanks a lot

  • man this is so sweet, finally im catching up with my french lessons, thanx

  • Very useful lesson but you made a lot of mistake. Razoir is written "rasoir" and "hôtesse" takes a little hat (accent circonflexe) on the "o" (I don't know how to say that in english). Same thing with "gâteau" (this time the "a" takes the hat)

  • thanks for upload this kind of videos_!

  • je parle Anglais mais j' aime Francais, merci beacoup!

  • I've been watcinh videos 1,2,and 3 and I've learned alot. For some that didn't know a thing of French, I recommend these videos

    Thankyou for uploading

  • but what if it's unisex

wud u say la & le?

  • There is no unisex. Just feminine and masculine. If you don't know what a word is going to be, masculine is a lot more common than feminine, so it would be more practical to use le/un if you aren't sure.

  • wait how come jeans is still jeans shouldnt it be zheans? like j becomes zh in french????
