Pages 16-17 of the bill say no new health plans can be offered by private insurance companies. Do you understand what that means? Insurance plans change every year. Obama plans to pay for his $1.6 trillion plan, in part, by cutting $500 billion in spending for Medicare. At a time when the number of Medicare recipients is growing every year, Obama is going to CUT SPENDING for this group. Massachusetts has healthcare for all. Just like Obamas plan, residents are required to have healthcare. But the plan has failed miserably. Insurance costs have skyrocketed over the last 20 years. Lawmakers cannot find the money to pay for services for the state-insured people. Hospitals are suing the state for inadequate payment. Now they are dropping people from the program. Why should we take a plan that failed miserably in Massachusetts and to the entire country? It makes no sense.

It's completely and utterly irresponsible to try and force through TRILLIONS in new spending during a recession. If the Democrat health care plan is so great, why are they making sure to put in that they have their own private plan? Why don't they want the one they're trying to force on us?

cancer is one of the leading killers and survival rates in the US are 20+% more than elsewhere because they deny care and medicine on the basis of cost. Another example is dialysis machines are in shortage in UK where people are told to get their affairs in order. Government care means rationing and death for the nonproductive or undesirable. Take choice away from people and give it to some faceless bureaucrat? If it is so good why does congress and the government employees exempt themselves?
That's utter BS. The criticism Obama has gotten is NOTHING compared to what President Bush was put through by liberals. President Bush made tough war time decisions.

Pages 16-17 of the bill say no new health plans can be offered by private insurance companies. Do you understand what that means? Insurance plans change every year. They change coverage slightly or change the co-pay or the co-insurance. Every tweak creates a new plan. So you keep your current plan for one year, then it is on to the govt plan for you! Obama has promised no rationing of healthcare, no long lines to see doctors. Not true. Or at least not true for the largest consumers of healthcare, the elderly. Obama plans to pay for his $1.6 trillion plan, in part, by cutting $500 billion in spending for Medicare. At a time when the number of Medicare recipients is growing every year, Obama is going to CUT SPENDING for this group. People do want healthcare reform but not Obama's plan. Obama and the Democrats are making a big mistake. Perhaps they do not remember when the Clintons tried to take over healthcare in 1993 and the Republicans took over Congress in 1994. According to Quinnipiac University poll, by a 72-21 margin voters do not believe Obama will keep his promise to reform healthcare without adding to the deficit. By 57-37 margin, voters think healthcare reform should be scrapped if it will add to the deficit.

Massachusetts has healthcare for all. Just like Obamas plan, residents are required to have healthcare. But the plan has failed miserably. Insurance costs have skyrocketed over the last 20 years. Lawmakers cannot find the money to pay for services for the state-insured people. Hospitals are suing the state for inadequate payment. Now they are dropping people from the program. Why should we take a plan that failed miserably in Massachusetts and to the entire country? It makes no sense.

Another example is dialysis machines are in shortage in UK where people are told to get their affairs in order. Government care means rationing and death for the nonproductive or undesirable.
