Visited La Fonda on July 17, 2011. We were not impressed! We use to come here approximately 13-15 years ago and loved it. Now with the new owners and renovations made, it has lost its quaint ambience. We were a party of four and were disaapointed with the food. We had to ask for chips and the drinks took 15 minutes to come everytime I reordered! The fish did not taste fresh and had to send two plates back as the food was cold. Funny thing is that we had the same waiter as you.
@SuperStevlo Sorry to hear your experience was less than grand. It was my first time staying at LaFonda and it was definitely a ghost town. But I was really craving that type of peaceful isolation that borders abandonment.
That's funny because I also wanted to send my fish back. Although I still liked the chips served hot with the salsa fresca.
