@KaraNmef Thanks!! One more thing. I noticed u used a f/1.4 lens and a f/2.8-4.5 zoom lens. Which one did you use more? I'm debating on getting a 50mm f/1.8 but idk if I want to. I have a Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 which is a great walk around lens and does decent under low light. Does f/2.8 and f/1.8 make a HUGE difference in low light??

you did a great job in doing taping those film and in editing. I would say that you haven't done this the first time. Are you in the filming or photo business, because you can see many cameras in the clip.

So far I did not know that there are SLRs which are able to tape movies. Can you remember the settings in premiere? The movie is looking like a real hollywood made one, because of this filter.

I made a movie in my last holiday in west europe. Maybe you can help me in finding this filter.

@bigsby71 I'm in the advertising business, i don't deal with live action that often (mostly cg), but yeah, i guess it helps!

I think i mentioned before, it's not about the settings, or filters...of course, there is a combination of technical aspects that make a video look nice, but mostly its the editing id say...the rest is color correct, tweaking.

When you look at a painting you think looks nice, i'm sure you dont ask yourself which pen it's been made with :) its all about the picture ! :)

you are right. But when you look at two pictures showing both the same thing, but one is sharper and has better colors, you love it more ;-)

Nearly all films made in the Stated have a nice look like blockbuster. If you comrape it to a german made movie, you will see the difference. In earlier days they used a filter infront of the camera, nowadays they use a filter in the editing software.

Hope you know what I mean. Maybe it's is the camera itself in addition to a very nice editing.

@bigsby71 sure, i know what you mean, of course...i think that the camera itself plays a big part in the final look...the 24fps mode is definitely a plus, the aspect ratio of the video as well (2.39:1). The lens as well of course.

As for the colors, it's just levels, or curves, to enhance or lower contrast...i didnt use any external software because i wanted to demonstrate that with a decent camera (600£ in that case), the right shots, and a bit of editing, you have a nice video!

thank you so much for that. So far I wasnot sure buying a canon, because you just can use canon lenses, because the autofocus and steady aim is integrated in the lens. At the moment I bought my first SLR I thought that it would be better to have these things integrated in the body, and that I prefer to use cheaper and more lenses. So I chosed Sony. In my case the alpha100. Next time I will know better when buying a SLR with movie function.

@Tech1Today1 You can't use the viewfinder because the mirror is blocking the view while shooting.

@Verdoux007 Actually, that's not really true, i shot everything using the viewfinder.

When in video-mode, the viewfinder automatically turns on on this camera.

Filming with the eye-view is not really recommended, I would say, as it obstructs your vision of what's outside the frame, and you might miss the point :)

@KaraNmef Are you confusing Live view with the viewfinder? You can't use the viewfinder while filming in any Canon DSLR. For framing the shot and focusing you can only use the LCD screen (unless you do it before turning the video mode on).

Filmer avec un reflex est en fait assez plaisant ! Le poids reduit peut surprendre au debut, mais tres vite il devient un atout...et puis, comme il s'agit d'une video de vacances, la mobilité est de mise.

J'ai utilise Premiere pour monter la video.
