Sure there are good ones but thats the reputation here.

If they are anything like Holland, they are great. Here where I live, roads are full of holes and cracks, and I'm talking about USA. Cars get beat up here in the states because of the long distances to travel to and from places. I can't just walk outside and walk to the store to buy a pack of cigarettes. I have to drive at least 10 minutes.
So what I'm trying to say is that while many European cars are fine in Europe, they would not work in America. That's why cars like Fiat, Peugeot, Renault, Alfa Romeo, etc cannot be sold in the U.S. They simply cannot withstand the day to day driving and wear and tear. Surely the VW is ages ahead in technology and reliability than all those that I mentioned. Another thing is that the VW you have from 17 years ago isn't made with the same materials as the ones now. Now, more plastics are used.
Well, about the distances you are right. We don't have to drive long distances for everything and we have good roads. But ther are many other things which wears out a car. Our roads often are very, very curvy and hilly. This wears out the wheel bearings, the drivetrain, the suspension, pretty much everything... Also we have a lot of snow and salted or dirty roads. So it's the same thing with american cars in europe, that's the reason you can see nearly no american cars around here.
So I think american cars are made for american style roads, maybe european cars are made for european style roads but I don't think so.
All I can say is that european cars work very well here and I dare to say they can't be "the most unreliable cars" over there if they are among the most reliable cars here!

its very good on gas in the city only 13lt/100km. on highway 11lt/100km average 12lt/100km compare to bmw x-series unbeatabel on fuel economy, plus diesel is cheaper then gas in anywhere in the world other then usa. but this car is expensive then bmwx6. I would go with this one

we in recession not many are buying....like my bros mate picked up a q7 and an A3 cabriolet for 60 thousand combined...u wont get many of those people tbh...everyones buying BMW desiels...its all 320 d or some number with a d on the end...
recession is crazy i had to throw my car at buyers they didnt want it for 60% of market value lol..so imagine trying to see your used luxury car...its harder than usual..but maybe not impossible..car market is suffering at th emoment

ye u can get a new car..but to be honest...theres lots of new cars for under 10 grand.
but ifyour going for this expect to pay.
if i was audi i would charge even more. you want luxury you want to flash you better flash the cash.
if i was rich i would cop one audi or bmw...but as things stand autotrader gimme a call. lets see what i can get for under 2 grand A to B does the job. When you think like that lifes a lot easier....or you got finance option so u dont worry about parts etc

lol everyone wants that though,. Id much rather have a big house or own many properties THEN think about a car. Like I know someone whos mate owns a car rental place..he borrows the car for 3 to 4 days or sometimes a week. Then sends it back. I wish i could do that. I would be happy just getting to test drive the cars. Thats okay for me..
But I would like to test drive a Buggati Veyron or at least ride shotgun..That would be enough for me LOL.
When the pocket gets filled we can think bigger!!
