i got a 1990 honda prelude si whit b21 but it keeps heating up! we checked the fans thats not it and we put anit freeze but it doesnt help and we checked for holes but it isnt leaking any where?? can any one help?

can anybody give me a list of motors that are compatible for my 91 prelude? i just need something to make it run again. im not an expert on cars but all i know is that i need a new motor. it's automatic and it is the 4ws SI version if that helps. thanks in advance. ive already invested a grand on other problems but im not giving up yet.

het dude need some help here HAD a 3rd gen now gotta s13, but still on preludepower as red 90 lude never got a chance to use it cause u have to pay to do anything which made it useless to me @ least. i don't mind paying,there's no way of contacting anyone and u can do anything as a guest or w/e. basically i want to get the ball rolling, cause foroms r the easiest way to modifiy and educate urself about cars ESPECIALLY 3rd gen lude's.

b20's basically...

b20a, b20a5, b20a4... some are carb'd. most are fuel injected.

theres about 3 or 4 different motors...

the ones to avoid are the carbed' version which is a single cam & has no power...

the other motor to avoid is the b21a1. usually in the 90-91's. They burn oil like fucking crazy and usually throw rods.

look for one with a b20a5 or b20a ( the jdm version)

o and i forgot to mention they also come with the f22 which is a very nice motor to do the h23 head swap. they have iron sleeves so they can withstand alot of boost. Just slap on an h23 or h22 head (the h23 fits ALOT better) and boost it around 13 lbs and you got yourself a f*ckin beast my friend.

actually, the f22 didn't come until '92, the fourth generation. a lot of people think we get h22's and h23's in our cars stock. lol it's okay, though.

That ain't true, I finished rebuilding my B21A1 a year and three months ago. It's a good motor. Right now it uses some oil; it's been 5,000 miles since the rebuild and it purrs like a kitten. The question is why do they burn oil and throw rods? The driver's who drive them are the problem.
