I have ad-aware SE. It's very good program, but (I wrote about this to lavasoft) once I chose to scan Windows and System Volume Information folders (under ADS option), I got a result that I have over 4000 (yes 4000!) Critical Objects. Under full system scan it found 4 - 5 objects. It marked as malware and TAC 7 every file of those 4000. Can anyone tell me why did that happen?
is it true that ad aware se is no longer supported, forcing you to go update (so they call it) to ad aware 2007? i recently updated to the 2007 thing, and have read many comments that se is no longer supported which would explain why i havnt been able to update it for a long while now. and 2007 takes sooo long, so much more space, and i miss my se, has anyone else heard of this?
Well Ad-aware SE is still supported but you have to update manually through their website to get the latest defenitions. It kinda sucks if you ask me :(
Actually, it is OK to have Ad-aware and Norton Anti-virus installed on the same computer, because Ad-aware is not an anti-virus program. It's an anti-spyware/malware program.
However it is NOT OK to have them both running a scan at the same time. You need run a scan with each program separately.
And livin831 is correct. You can not have two anti-virus programs running on the same computer. They will conflict.
its impossible to find who did it u just cant do that it doesnt display names when uve been attacked i knoe i am a dialer, hacker, adware, malware, spyware if the person creates a program that is in a different program such as freeware or shareware and u deleted the program u cant find the name when u go to ur antiprotection like norton(norton sucks)u can only find them if u go to quarantied-ip-ipaddress then itll show the virus map and a trace of where it came from
man i was hacked and my wow account lost NOW I WILL DESTROY ALL HACKERS AND ALL VIRUSES plz create some vids that show some tips of doing that keep the good job
no it will harm your computer because an anti-virus is technically a virus itself so when you have more than one it will attak the other anti-virus programs hope it makes sense
Ad-aware and Spybot are both anti-spyware/malware programs, while McAfee Total Protection is both an anti-virus program and an anti-spyware/malware program. It is OK to have all of them on the same system. You just can't have two anti-virus programs on the same system, like zhukov99 said.
And make sure that you do one scan at a time. Running more than one program at the same time to scan your computer could do some harm. My friend lost a hard drive that way.

do i need to disconect the internet while performing th scan i heard that u do.
aidman606 4 years ago
No, you do not. And you need to have it hooked up to the Internet before you do the scan as well so you can update the spyware/malware definitions.
