@IPIay To be honest, I wouldn't drop emotionally so instantaneously in that situation when Kamina died. I'd be like "FUCK YEAHH!!!" for about 10 seconds..then just "..*emocorner*" ..just over the situation the girl I like loved him and I was thinking I'd have her to myself. Kamina was just truely fuckin epic, Simon close behind and Viral an EXTREMELY close third, in best anime characters ever for me. Don't judge my opinions, damn it. ANYWAY, off to play a lil TF2.

not every amv has angsty music. Nor do all 13 year olds listen to angst.

Anyways, i think it's because a lot of animes are agnsty. By that i mean have some sort of twist or problem and the main character(s) are doing something to save someone or something like that.

A lot of animes are like that.

Plus a lot of animes are shounen(however you spell it..). Meaning targeted for mainly boys form 13-18(in asia) years of age.

It's rather rare to have a popular anime made for young adults.

Everyone has issues, so of course the anime companies going to make their characters more realistic by giving them some sort of problem(s) to deal with the rest of their life. It's make them unique and admirable, despite being fictional. Look at Ichigo from Bleach, he was carrying around the guilt from his mother's death for years and deals with it like a normal person by mourning on the anniversary without being some emo freak.
