The Unions job is to negiotiate a fair wage and benefit package that allows companies and worker to benefit and SURVIVE!. They are political entities now. Our country is based on the secret ballot. card check tells them who to lean heavy on so they voting yes next ballot. This can be violent. I was teamster, AFL/CIO, never again They turned into scumbag organizations. the theft of GM, coslt of living raises while states go under and we get to carry the burden . No ones getting raises today.

Card check is just as bad as putting a 'Yellow Star' on your jacket to show you are a Jew. It didn't work out well in the 1930 and 40's and it isn't going to work out well now! Any time someone has the ability to see how you vote they will be able to intimidate the voter. If not every voter a large majority of voters and in reality one intimidated voter is one to many.

@masanf : The Employee Free Choice Act doesn't get rid of the secret ballot. H.R. 1409 is the amendment. Workers would have 2 options to be certified by the NLRB: Petition with 30% for an election, or 50%, plus one cards signed.
