@shiversul It's not heavy at all, but it does a decent job at gripping itself to my desk. Unfortunately there is no suction, but that's probably something you could add yourself.

A very nice knob. I can't seem to figure out what else it does besides control the volume- most of the time. Perhaps I have it too far down the daisy chain of USB hubs. Yes, I've installed the software. I love shiny machined aluminum gadgets. And as far as being expensive, I've payed more for a lot less. $30 bucks ain't bad.

If you think of it as a $35 volume knob, you aren't making use of 99% of it's power. You build triggers/actions just like in Automator. They can be global, or application specific. Ex: You can set triggers in Safari to basically surf with the controller. Press to Open a new window, press with command key to open a new tab. Turn right and left for scroll. Press and turn to rapidly tab through links. Press and hold to see open apps, and on and on. Huge time saver.

Many people who install computers in their cars use these as an easy way to control music. I would have one for my car computer, but there is honestly no place to mount it in my tiny car.

In the PowerMate settings next to the + there is a rectangle with a triangle in side of it. click on it and then right click on the PowerMate that appears, normally called PowerMate 1. after right clicking click configure. hope this help.
