Thank you SO much for posting this. For years I have been looking for it, had the book and remember the movie too. Could never remember the name of it. This is awesome !!!!!!!!!!
Thank You!!!!! I remember the book JT, but was too young to know the movie - I love Kevin Hooks (The White Shadow, Sounder) as an actor and director, and Ja'net Dubois - I see she later changed the spelling of her first name during "Good Times". Sad that they don't make films like these anymore. We need to get back to meaningful television.
This makes me love the internet even more (didn't know that was possible)! THANK YOU for the post(s). Does anyone know how to get a DVD of this GREAT movie???
Great Post J.T. !!! Every kid my age had watched this movie when it aired over several seasons. And then it just vanished. Thanks so much for bringing it back to us !
First of all, I remember seeing this as a movie in school...2nd, 3rd and 4th (maybe 5th as well) grade. We all loved this movie.
Also, when I saw it I was a huge fan of Good Times and it didn't strike me that not only is Willona on this show but, the who comes out of the bathroom and yells at JT about his radio was also a recurring Good Times cast member. She was weeping Wanda!! The woman that always cried.
thnx so much for posting this!!! i havent seen this since i was a kid. ive been looking for it but couldnt remember who was in it. im 46 and am sobbing like a baby lol. im going to make my kids who are grown, watch it. they dont make stories like it anymore and such a pity!
LOL...wow. I'm sitting up her CRYING, and I'm an former Army Captain. I remember this movie from the early 70s, and even as a kid I loved cats. It STILl breaks my heart to see that boy give the cat his food and even his hood.
i saw this in '72 in Pittsburgh visiting my grann...i was about the same age as j.t. and dug cats too.....Just watched this with my wife and i STILL remembered dialog from 37 years ago (!?) amazing film...so "real" to a suburban kid from SoCal at the time...and memorable
Thank you for posting this show. I've looked for it off and on for years after viewing it on TV almost 40 years ago. It'll be great to watch it all again!
By the way, the teacher in the show is played by Holland Taylor, who plays the mother on Two and A Half Men today.

I always thought this was a special 15 minute short film, and I was the only one that remembered it. I expected to never see it again ?

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
For years I wondered where this went. The last time I remember seeing it was around 1974, and then it disappeared.
Thanks again, and A Very, Merry Christmas to you and yours, and the best in '09!
