  • WHAT A DUMB ASS BITCH

    -yes, a rm member

  • OH MY GOSH SHE LIKES TO SING!!! She has videos. She sings to a guitar and other stuff.DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS? SHES IDOL WORSHIPPING INSTRUMENTS!!!!!!!! THAT IS JUST PLAIN WRONG!!! what the crap is wrong with her!?!?!?

  • Oh my gosh she likes to SING!!! Check out her videos.

  • I read Michelle Peralta's self indulgent letter and her response and I find her to be a prideful person that despises fun. Also, Michelle - it would not make you a hypocrite to go to a basketball game and you know that. Going to a basketball game would not cancel your original point that people should chilax on the Jimmer talk? Or is it just bad to participate at all? B/C that is what your actions are really saying. Pride goeth before the fall. Just remember that.

  • This video is not funny. I find it sad that many of my fellow LDS church members are acting so childish. The sarcastic and so-called "humorous" responses to Michelle Peralta's letter are borderline sacrilegious.

  • @bdrosenlof die of aids please kthnxbye

  • *sniff* This is such a touching story... It brought tears to my eyes as I saw this kind young man offer tickets to a gentile.

  • *sniff* This is such a touching story... It brought tears to my eyes as I saw this kind young man offer tickets to a gentile.

  • And Jared Sullinger requests an Inquisition.

  • To Michelle: I I work full time at the University of Utah, attend school here full time, and I don't really like sports. But Jimmer has sparked something new in me. He makes it all uniquely exciting. I even bought a blue binder today in honor of Jimmer.

  • I've been trying to read the other inciting comments by Chaosfire360, but it appears he must have been ashamed of what he said enough to delete them. Who is hiding behind a screen name now? Chaosfire, where did you go?

  • @byugrad1024 I dunno, but I wrote a novel responding to him justifying the position of the sarcastic comments and I'm kinda cheesed off he couldn't take the heat. He was saying something about judging righteous judgment. Guess he couldn't handle getting Jimmered either...

I'm really bothered by all the holier-than-thou kooks that have come out to back her stance on the Cult of Jimmer in the opinions section of the Daily Universe.

Speaking of the cult, what time is enclave meeting tonight?

  • @Chaosfire360 You missed the point entirely bro. Nobody assigned or asked you to defend her losing stance/opinion in this matter.

Nobody was comparing Jimmer to Christ or putting him on the same level as Jesus before she took the first step in writing her letter. But you've got the power to prove me wrong.

Go search the interwebs and find for me anything that shows mass worship of Jimmer with him being compared to Jesus in a serious way before she set things in motion with her editorial.

  • @Chaosfire360 A few qualifiers for your search for anything concrete in this matter: People waiting in line for hours prior to a game doesn't count as worshipping Jimmer. People stand in line for hours for lots of things. In fact, people stand in line for hours to go to LDS General Conference and they aren't worshipping the speakers or doing anything like that.

Making signs about Jimmer doesn't count because people make signs for everything, and make signs about athletes @ games all the time.

  • @MVHSDynasty I was tired of being personally attacked from trying to ask people around me to stop with the Christ analogies (even before the MP incident), and then that happened and she was being personally attacked for her opinion, and I snapped. But I won't be angry anymore. I'm not ashamed of anything I said. I am ashamed I said it in anger. But I'm not going to argue anymore because it only escalates that anger. Everyone is only trying to do what they think is right; that goes for both sides

  • @MVHSDynasty (continued) I can’t speak for MP, I don’t even know her. But if ya’ll go to games and make signs, cool. It’s good to support the team and I’ve not said anything about that. I’m just going to request yet again that people stop the sacrilege of Christ and the scriptures, and the personal attacks. But I'm done. If you want to claim you “jimmered” me, I don't give a damn. But I am a girl, so get that right for your victory boast.

  • @Chaosfire360 LOL Christ comparisons even before the MP editorial? Yeah, they were all over the place. Weren't they? (note the sarcasm)

Thanks for backing out of my challenge for you to go find on the internet where there comparisons would be public. You back out because you know there would be few if any at all. In fact, if there were comparisons, and that is a HUGE if - they weren't serious in any way.

    And if you're a chick - I'm Harry S. Truman. Or better yet - I'm the Jimmer...

  • @MVHSDynasty My experiences were all in person, and they did happen. But would it matter? Do you think it’s acceptable to say, “I profaned the scriptures because she made me do it?” But you are right, it’s not for me to say what is right and justified for anyone else to do. I know what is right is for me to take down my previous posts, because I can’t stand the thought of them further inciting me or anyone else to anger, and I am no longer going to post any more comments here.

  • @Chaosfire360 The best solution to all this. Convince her to attend the game. Someone was generous enough to provide tickets. It takes a strong person to overcome their claustrophobia - and attend the game. Imagine the impact of getting past the accusations and accepting the peace offering. That would be a story worth covering.

  • @Chaosfire360 Yes I read the letter. She equated everyone that waits outside for excessive amounts of time to get into the Marriott Center to "worshiping" Jimmer. As far as generalizations go, don't you think that might solicit the response she got? Most people aren't equating him to Christ, but she had to call everyone who liked him to repentance. She and you obviously have in common the ability to make generalizations. I never threatened her, although other people on here may have.

  • Michelle - please reconcider. You have a unique opportunity here. Don't wear a blue wig or carry a Jimmer poster. Just support the team. They represent the school well. Though you don't like the antics of over the top fans. Some of their comments on your fb page were sacreligious, there is something bigger here.

You are in the unique position of show that kindness, respect and generosity can win. Resolution through kindness. Where else than at BYU. Please accept the gift

  • @MPwashere You didn't want this attention? By sending a frustrated letter to the Daily Universe? You've reminded of one of my favorite quotes: "People demand free speech to make up for the freedom of thought which they avoid." Have you given much thought to how this decision of yours to voice your opinion may have negatively impacted the rest of your life? With your comments going viral, YOU will be the only person affected in the long run, when future employers google search your name.

  • @Chaosfire360 You want the truth? Here it is: It is completely asinine to judge people of doing wrong when they aren't and you are in no position of authority to be judging them anyway, then accusing them of doing so in an editorial letter in a public setting - particularly the one The Jimmer represents and wears on his jersey

It is one thing to share an opinion and then another to accuse people of doing something they aren't doing.

Please note I said nothing of her right to her opinion.

  • @Chaosfire360 (stupid 500 character limit) Trust me on this one dude - the problem here isn't someone is right and wounded birds are fluttering. This exact same thing happened all across the state/campus when David Archuletta was doing big things on American Idol. This exact same thing happened when Dick Cheney came and spoke @ graduation. This exact same thing happened when G. B. Hinckley passed away.

  • @Chaosfire360 (stupid 500 character limit) If the problem is buzz=worship where were the letters to the editor calling people out then? Where were the letters to the editor when people were putting flowers @ the plaque of the G. B. Hinckley building? Where were the letters about people sending numerous texts to AI voting for Davey A? Aren't those public actions of attention to those individuals "worship" since people are going out of their way to pay attention to those individuals?

  • @Chaosfire360 (stupid 500 character limit) The Jimmer is going to be playing for BYU for 2 or 2.5 more months, and he's done some incredible things this year. People are just being normal and excited about what he's done. It is newsworthy. When it is newsworthy people talk. This is what is happening. The correct thing to do would just be take people's buzz about The Jimmer in stride, buckle-up/bunker in and deal with people's buzz for just a few more weeks and then it is done.

  • @Chaosfire360 (stupid 500 character limit) What we're seeing is someone with some personal problems/issues not handling the issues in a healthy way. If she really is being hounded everywhere she goes - just say, "Don't talk about Jimmer around me." People can respect that, or she just needs to ignore it if these are strangers to her. People talk about things we don't to hear about in public all the time. It is called living in a society.

  • @Chaosfire360 (stupid 500 character limit) If you look to find copies of the original Facebook thread you'll see she says something about sending ANOTHER letter to the editor and how she hopes is doesn't become a habit. Her husband's comment is very revealing in that he says, "what happened now." To me that shows someone who finds a lot of problems about things other people do, and doesn't know how to deal with it in a healthy way. How often does this gal overreact to trivial things?

  • @Chaosfire360 Fact: people need to quit using Facebook like a personal vent platform because it gets them in to trouble, and is very revealing about their character. She was proud of her efforts to correct the heathens of The Cult of Jimmer. Why would she mention it on her Facebook profile? People are going to tee off on her in a public setting because she did the same thing. If you can't handle spamming on Facebook - don't tell the world that you just sent a letter to the editor.

  • @Chaosfire360 If she handles her problem about the Jimmer "worship" in a healthy manner we see none of these snarky sarcastic comments about Jimmer being larger than life to begin with. To my knowledge none of those were happening before this, and I frequent the site her actions were brought up in initially. Best way to handle this is keep your beef to yourself for a few more weeks and The Jimmer "worshippers" camping out or missing class to go to games - let God sort em' out… 'nuff said…

  • @Chaosfire360 It's great to have high standards. Judging others by your own standards is the sin of the pharisee. It's those few BYU students that cross that line that give BYU it's bad reputation. 'Holier than thou' is not a good thing. Trying your best to do your best is the key. Criticizing others for not following your example... You probably see my point.

  • @TheRando305 Great comment Rando.

Funniest is that MP and everyone else backing her stance can't see that. National media got hold of this and people covering it think the response is absolutely hillarious. Unbiased third parties have been impressed with how BYU fans have handled this. But the prudes make stuff up like "it was happening before."

It'll all be over in a few months anyway and hopefully they'll think twice of judging their peers of wrongdoing of any sort.

    GO BYU!

    GO JIMMER!

  • @Chaosfire360 Furthermore if she were in the South and did something similar about someone, oh I dunno - like Cam Newton she'd be facing death-threats instead of snarky LDS sarcasm.

Again, props to EG for extending the olive-branch and it is a shame MP won't even try going to a game for 10 minutes.

    GO BYU!

    GO JIMMER!

  • I think the whole "easily sold out" excuse sounds like more of a pride issue. It would show a lot of humility to show up and show that you are a fan. The right way.

  • @TheDoubleOT

But I'm not a fan, in case my letter didn't make that clear.

  • PS. The extreme response to my letter is only stregnthening my point. There's a line between fanatacism and sacreligion, and it's being crossed.

  • @MPwashere So how's the view from that high horse of yours?

There's no harm whatsoever in appreciating an insanely talented person when we see one. You surely believe that Jimmer's talents are God-given, right? So why not appreciate what he's been blessed enough to do. If you don't care, you're missing out and that's your right. But to accuse people who get a kick out of watching a spectacularly talented person do his thing...that's a little wrong.

  • Tell him you want his autograph, a hug, and a photo. Post it on here, Facebook, Twitter, etc. You'll have tons of people impressed with you then. C'mon, we're calling you out. As the Beach Boys sang, "Be true to your school."

  • @MPwashers, after getting Jimmered on Facebook, DesNews, SI, etc., you most definitely would NOT look like a hypocrite, but rather a reasonable person. You've been called out or challenged by your fellow students and others around the country. Now, if you honestly give it a try and you're not impressed, then you get respect points. If you don't go, you just look line a snobbish prude with no school spirit. Do Jimmer a favor if you do come - let him know first. Tell him you want his autogra

  • 1:12 the defender gave up cause jimmer was so far out :)

  • Try them, try them, you will see! You may like them, Michelle P.!

  • If you would of thrown in a free toaster, MP wouldn't have any claustrophobia issues!

  • For the natural Michelle is an enemy to BYU sports fan, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless she yields to the enticings of The Jimmer, and putteth off her distaste of him,and becometh a basketball fan through the watching of The Jimmer, and becometh as a true Cougar, submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which Jimmer seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to his father.

  • @TaeLynn this is the best Jimmer/Michelle reference yet

  • Shoot! I have to contact my Mexican neighbor about a fake ID and fast! I am Michelle Peralta!!!! I am!!...gimme them Jimmie to tickets! ...don't let my mustache fool ya, I am Michelle!!!!!!!

  • This is Michelle Peralta, and I'm afraid I will have to decline your kind offer, on three grounds. First, if I were to accept, it would make me look like a hypocrite and someone who is easily sold out. I don't want that sort of image, for obvious reasons. Second, having an all-sports pass is no guarantee that there will be a seat available, and I'm not going to camp out for someething I really don't want to go to anyway. Third, I suffer from claustrophobia. So, thank you, but no thanks.

  • @MPwashere

Do you have a television? Then you can enjoy your JIMMER in the secret privacy of your own home. I do sometimes. Heck, sometimes I DVR it and watch it over, and over, and over, and over. Try it, you'll love it. No one has to know but you, your husband and JIMMER

  • @MPwashere Trust me on a few things, you will have front row seats with no waiting. It has been arranged that when you come you have seats in the front. Also I understand the Hypocrite thing, but to be honest this would be the ultimate way to show that even with strong views and things getting blown up you still see the excitment that you created and buzz. You would be well received at the game. As far as the claustrophobia you will be close enough to the court with plenty of room. please come!

  • @REALFrontRowFanatics I'll come if she doesn't :) I am be Michelle! lol

  • @REALFrontRowFanatics

I do not like basketball. Was that not clear from my letter?

People know my name, but they wouldn't be able to pick me out of a crowd. I'd like it to stay that way. I didn't ask for all this attention, and I don't want it.

I repeat what I said before: I don't want people to see me as a liar, hypocrite, someone who is easily bought out, or an attention seeker. I voiced my honest opinion, and I want that to be the end of it.

  • @MPwashere

At the very least, don't lie about not asking for the attention. You published a very bitter article in a public & interested forum regarding a hot topic and attached your name to it, and, judging by your Facebook post, did so with a great sense of pride. You could have lied low when it blew up in your face, but you went so far as to create a YouTube account for the purpose of pushing your opinion further on the matter. Consciously or subconsciously, you are seeking the attention.

  • @MPwashere Worried about looking like a hypocrite.. awesome.

  • @MPwashere Stay strong Michelle! You have a fan in me! Being a Cougar myself, I'm saddened to witness soooo many Zoobs!

  • @madmartigan64 Haha. Bologna! Anyone who calls people "Zoobs" is obviously a yewt. Pfft.

  • @andyrafn There's a difference between a "BYU student" and a "Zoob." Zoobs are those who feel they're degree from "the Y" will grant instant access at the pearly gates. The "You'll never amount to anything in the LDS Church if you don't attend BYU" folks. BYU students are those who go because they want an education, not an "MR/MRS degree."

  • @andyrafn Dawg, I'm anything but a yewt my man! I'm a zoob, you're a zoob, michelle is a zoob, and all the idol worshipping Jimmerites are zoobs!

  • @madmartigan64 Do you sincerely believe we worship Jimmer? You've gotta be kidding. Lighten up man.

  • @andyrafn Do you sincerely believe I sincerely believe you are worshipping Jimmer? Hahahaha, maybe you should lighten up!

  • @MPwashere Forget that. Did someone say E-bay?

  • Hi, my name is Chris - and I'm a Jimmerholic. And this wonderful season, I am off the wagon, baby!!! Pass me another one. Party all the way to Sweet 16 or better!

  • And the earth was without Jimmer, and void;

And God said, Let there be Jimmer: and there was Jimmer.

  • She should get to sit in that couch if she goes to the Utah game! It would be the most epic conversion ever.

  • I will trust the JIMMER, and lean not unto my own understanding. - the Bible

For all shots have been taken in the wisdom of He that makes all shots. - the Book of Mormon.

From the mouths of two or more witnesses, Michelle. Experiment upon the word. Go, and doubt JIMMER no more.

  • QUÉ TIPO TAN IMBÉCIL.

  • Jimmer gives me true happiness. Why would you want to take this away from me, Michelle?

  • If you love me, keep my commandments...If you love me, feed my sheep...If you love me, vote Jimmer POY!

  • I'd like to punch Michelle right in the Jimmer-maker.

  • I have a testimony that Jimmer is true.

  • Jimmer...isn't it about time?!

  • Michelle dislikes this video. As for myself and the others who like this video, we shall serve The Jimmer.

  • @ksizzle87 Michelle and her husband dislike this video. Jimmer, forgive them. For they know not what they do.

  • @ksizzle87 - Michelle and her husband dislike this video. Jimmer, forgive them. For they know not what they do.

  • Michelle, until you can gain your own testimony of Jimmer, lean on mine, lean on mine.

  • wish we'd give free all-sports passes to true fans who actually appreciate the game... but then again those fans probably already have all-sports passes to begin with...

  • I know that as you learn about Jimmer, you will feel warm and peaceful inside. You will come to know that Jimmer is the point guard for the BYU Men's Basketball team, and that he is really, really good. Ponder these feelings in your heart, and share them with your friends and neighbors.

  • I too know that The Jimmer is the best basketball player in the nation.

  • This is the best!

  • Pure awesomeness... Come on Michelle, we are all counting on you!!!

  • Bringing Jimmer in my life was the greatest decision that I ever made. Before I found Jimmer, I was in a bad place. I acted like a yewt fan in word and deed. I was able to find joy in the fact that families can be together watching games at the Marriott Center. I also learned that believing in Jimmer was not enough and that I should live every day following His example.

  • So awesome.

  • You are a good man glemonade11.

Hopefully she'll see the error in her letter to the editor and won't hate life as a result of her rushed judgment on how Jimmermania is a good thing.

    GO BYU!

    GO JIMMER!

P.S. - what'll you do if she doesn't take you up on your offer? I've already got tickets for the remaining home games, but I know someone who'd love to sit in the Student Section during any of the games they wouldn't come to. Hint: my source for the fan's point of view vids in my channel.

  • YESSS!!!!

  • the song is hate it or love it by "the game".

  • What is the R&B music on the second half of this video? Love it.

  • I'll do a happy dance if she goes

  • This is great!
