Also, Michelle - it would not make you a hypocrite to go to a basketball game and you know that. People stand in line for hours for lots of things. In fact, people stand in line for hours to go to LDS General Conference and they aren't worshipping the speakers or doing anything like that.
Making signs about Jimmer doesn't count because people make signs for everything, and make signs about athletes @ games all the time.

@Chaosfire360 The best solution to all this. Convince her to attend the game. Someone was generous enough to provide tickets. It takes a strong person to overcome their claustrophobia - and attend the game. Imagine the impact of getting past the accusations and accepting the peace offering. People know my name, but they wouldn't be able to pick me out of a crowd. I'd like it to stay that way. I didn't ask for all this attention, and I don't want it.
I repeat what I said before: I don't want people to see me as a liar, hypocrite, someone who is easily bought out, or an attention seeker. I voiced my honest opinion, and I want that to be the end of it.
At the very least, don't lie about not asking for the attention. You published a very bitter article in a public & interested forum regarding a hot topic and attached your name to it, and, judging by your Facebook post, did so with a great sense of pride. You could have lied low when it blew up in your face, but you went so far as to create a YouTube account for the purpose of pushing your opinion further on the matter. @andyrafn There's a difference between a "BYU student" and a "Zoob." Zoobs are those who feel they're degree from "the Y" will grant instant access at the pearly gates. The "You'll never amount to anything in the LDS Church if you don't attend BYU" folks. BYU students are those who go because they want an education, not an "MR/MRS degree."

I know that as you learn about Jimmer, you will feel warm and peaceful inside. You will come to know that Jimmer is the point guard for the BYU Men's Basketball team, and that he is really, really good. Ponder these feelings in your heart, and share them with your friends and neighbors.
Bringing Jimmer in my life was the greatest decision that I ever made. Before I found Jimmer, I was in a bad place. I acted like a yewt fan in word and deed. I was able to find joy in the fact that families can be together watching games at the Marriott Center. I also learned that believing in Jimmer was not enough and that I should live every day following His example.
Hopefully she'll see the error in her letter to the editor and won't hate life as a result of her rushed judgment on how Jimmermania is a good thing.

I think the whole "easily sold out" excuse sounds like more of a pride issue. It would show a lot of humility to show up and show that you are a fan. The right way.

There's no harm whatsoever in appreciating an insanely talented person when we see one. You surely believe that Jimmer's talents are God-given, right? So why not appreciate what he's been blessed enough to do. If you don't care, you're missing out and that's your right. This is Michelle Peralta, and I'm afraid I will have to decline your kind offer, on three grounds. First, if I were to accept, it would make me look like a hypocrite and someone who is easily sold out. I don't want that sort of image, for obvious reasons. Second, having an all-sports pass is no guarantee that there will be a seat available, and I'm not going to camp out for someething I really don't want to go to anyway. Third, I suffer from claustrophobia. So, thank you, but no thanks.

Also I understand the Hypocrite thing, but to be honest this would be the ultimate way to show that even with strong views and things getting blown up you still see the excitment that you created and buzz. You would be well received at the game. As far as the claustrophobia you will be close enough to the court with plenty of room. please come!

You published a very bitter article in a public & interested forum regarding a hot topic and attached your name to it, and, judging by your Facebook post, did so with a great sense of pride. You could have lied low when it blew up in your face, but you went so far as to create a YouTube account for the purpose of pushing your opinion further on the matter. @andyrafn There's a difference between a "BYU student" and a "Zoob." Zoobs are those who feel they're degree from "the Y" will grant instant access at the pearly gates. The "You'll never amount to anything in the LDS Church if you don't attend BYU" folks. BYU students are those who go because they want an education, not an "MR/MRS degree."

Bringing Jimmer in my life was the greatest decision that I ever made. Before I found Jimmer, I was in a bad place. I acted like a yewt fan in word and deed. I was able to find joy in the fact that families can be together watching games at the Marriott Center. I also learned that believing in Jimmer was not enough and that I should live every day following His example.
