  • @guyrocksurworld101 neh. i5 and i7 is a new cpu socket. it wont fit

  • nice graphics in this video

  • Does all this Hyper Threading, Intel Turbo Boost and Cinebench 11.5 come inside the computer, or is it only upgrades you need to buy ? - Please respond. I really need your help

  • eerr...i thought the i5 and i7 had integrated intel graphics solutions...whats up with that??

  • it help a lot thanks!

  • Great comparison bro! Thanks for uploading. I got the i5 and it "seems" slower than the core 2 duo at startup with an SSD, but once you lost 2 seconds on startup, you just EAT IT when you get to processing RAW pictures, movies and sounds. Thanks Apple, you got a mean machine in a 13" screen, smoking any 900$ windows laptop :)

  • The price between them is also a big difference lol.

  • fuk man, i bought my mac pro 13 in' about a yr ago, now it has i5 for the same price. so fuking mad FUK!

  • @Alxphat Apple will upgrade their macbook pro, without any extra cos. Meaning the price will stay the same.

  • @Alxphat dont be...last gen 13s had better graphics...what your device lacks in cpu power it makes up for in graphic power...

hope i could comfort you a bit ^^

  • @Alxphat hey man thats not bad, i bought the first aluminum macbook and 3 months after it was released they released the macbook pro with the same exact specs but more features like SD card slot for $200 cheaper :(

  • Does the 2011 macbook pro 13 inch come in core i7?

  • @XxH3LLsB3LLsxX There is a few different kinds, but one of them does...

  • what is better macbook pro 15 intel core 2 duo or macbook pro 15 i5 or macbook pro 13 i5 please answer

  • @alextrikaliotis I'm not him , but I think that the macbook pro 15 i5 is the best of all you said :)

  • oh and slightly faster than core 2 duo? were you looking at benchies the corei5/i7 raped c2d on an epic scale

  • Helped me, thx

  • Yes

  • Duhh afcourse the C2D is less better then the i5 and i7 why would you make a video about it but when you only play WoW on it its fine.

  • Great video mate, thanks

  • Great and informative video. Good work:-)

  • fml. i bought the 13" core 2 duo a week ago.

  • @comedian376 I know how you feel, I got the c2d one 2 weeks ago. I didn't pay for it though...so on one hand I can't return it and get the new one cause I don't have the receipt, but on the other hand it wasn't my money so it's not that big a deal....kinda

  • @comedian376 me too i just returned it haha i was pissed but now im ok,

  • @comedian376 i also same.........what to do....sales men never inform bout this new model.....also rushing buying laptop

  • @comedian376

come on dude, not all ppl could afford MBP ! it a good stuff anyway!

  • @comedian376 Refurbished???

  • @MrDjkike Brand new

  • @comedian376 i know how you feel i did the same

  • @comedian376 Is it good? It's on sale where I'm from.

  • @asnallar Yeah. I'm using it now. Really sturdy and the 13" is super easy to cary around

  • @comedian376 Ok. The reviewer said the 2011 models are better investments for the future, but the old one in Core 2 Duo is good, too, right?

  • @asnallar Yeah. depends on the price

  • @asnallar correction 2010 core i3/i5/i7 are better investments for the future too but core 2 duo is still very very very very good for day to day tasks and gaming

  • @comedian376 return it then and get the new one

  • @comedian376

    And i'm going to buy a 15 2.2GHz i7 today

  • is 13 inch good for starcraft 2 gaming?

  • @s7xu im on a macbook pro (2010) 2.66 ghz 4gb core 2 duo and i run starcraft 2 fine.

  • the 13inch got a core i7 now and i5 of ur choice

  • wow , now i regret a little for purchasing it 6months earlier when it's still at core 2 duo haha

  • 13inch = best for college

  • great data. very well done. thanks!

  • Yeah it is as portable.

  • eh im still getting the 13 inch pro. 2010 model of course. mostly cause i already have a 15 inch asus so i need something portable

  • why does girls computers/macs allways have some kind of defect lol huge dent even my sisters is falling apart

  • I HAVE A MACBOOK PRO 15'' ...HOW CAN I UPGRADE MY SOFTWARE FROM 10.5.8 TO 10.6.3 OR HIGHER ?... ITS CAUSE I BOUGHT THE ILIFE 11 AND IT DOES NOT LET ME INSTALL UNLESS I UPGRADE . do i have to buy snow leopard ??? ... THANKS

  • @SHYBONER yes you have to buy snow leaopard

  • nice video! BUT you are comparing a 2008 13" with 15" (i5/i7) from 2010. your 13" has less ram and older gpu. would be nice if you could do the same test with the actual 13" (April 13, 2010). :-)

  • Good video!

  • great review Jonathan.

it really helped my decide to upgrade from the c2d to the i5.

  • i have that old macbook pro, and that was my first, and only mac that i own.

  • get more cores :D

  • I have a macbook pro 13 2010 C2D 2.66 processor and it is fast enough for editing and designing

  • @george5030 do you think the 15 is worth the money? i have a entry 2010 13 macbook pro. someone wants to buy it for 1150. i thought maybei should sell it and save up for the 15.

    think its worth?

  • @randomrazr I think it depends on which macbook pro 15 inch are you buying... if you are going to buy the one that is 11699 i think is not worth it... but if you are buying the MIDDLE one i think it would totally worth it.. if not, keep your 13 inch :)

  • @george5030 i was looking at the entry level macbook pro 15. its already 1749.00 here in canada, very expensive lol. the i5, discrete graphics card and larger screen are very attratcive features i want to jump on to but, its almost double the price of the 13 i paid for with tax :s

the thing that is pressuring me, i know i prob wont get another offer for 1150 again for it. my next best offer was 1100.

  • @randomrazr well... then you should go for it! obviously the 15 inch is going to be faster than the 13 one because of its i5 processor! For me the 13 inch one is much portable than the 15 one.. but that is just my personal preference! If you can afford to buy it then i'd say go fr it!

  • @george5030 well, they are both 2.4ghz lol

  • @randomrazr nope I have the 2.66 one

  • What did you use for the CPU power charts? Keynote?

  • aye bruh thanks for the advice. you helped me make up my mind!!

been wondering all day on which to go with... to keep my new i5 or trade for 13" pro + cash...

im getting into photography, web, video editing so the i5 IMO is the best choice

    -once again thanks

  • @jc77real is the 15 as portable as the 13?

  • so im about to get my first macbook, the higher the CPU power is, the better? so like 2.66 is better than 2.4 ghz? let me know... haha, i'm not so good at english =/

  • I don't agree with his statement about the inch being good for mail and surfing etc. I own a 13 inch model with 4 Gb of ram and use it for heavy duty Photoshop and Aperture and it really flies!

  • @4Climates the 13 macbook pro actually performs well for photoshop?

  • Homer Simpson

  • Man. The core i5 or core i7. That's just a stupid question. The core i7 is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better than anything else. :|

  • nice, i'm most definitely going to be saving up for a i5 MBP. going to wait a few years though since i just bought a 13 inch MBP back in june this year.

  • @Athos523 ur already tired of ur 13 macbook pro after 1 year? LOL

  • @randomrazr i'm not tired of it. i'm just saving up now and wait a few years after there is enough a significant upgrades to them to buy a 15 inch. i did the same thing when i had my first macbook i bought back in either 06 or 08.

  • @Athos523 well heres my story

i have a 2010 13 macbook pro. i payed 1214 for it new, and decicded to put it on kijiji to see if any people would buy it. i gotton a couple offers for 1150. seems like it wont get any better then that. i was asking 1200 lol. its 6 months old but in like new condition

should i let it go and save upp for a 15? the 15 are so expensive, 1900 dollars , thats with tax here in canada lol

    what do u think?.

  • @randomrazr what would you be needing a 15 inch for? i'm saving up for one because i'm a audio/video production student. i need the extra power for final cult and stuff like that. sure the 13 inch handles it alright but the extra power would be nice for me. well you might want to hold on to it. i think there might be a refresh soon but i don't know when exactly. if you only need it to do basic things then just stick to the 13 inch.

  • @Athos523 oh u in university?

i just want the 15 inch, cause of better specs and bigger screen. i dont really need it, just cause the highest resource app ive used is prob imovie lol. it just seems more nicer and more future proof.

ye i know of the coming up refresh. i thought if i decide not to get the 15, then i could still sell it and buy the new 2011 macbooks .

do u think i should get rid of hte macbook for 1150? and then save up for a 15 or wait till a refresh. or just stick with it.

  • @randomrazr yeah but more like a tech school. honestly, i think it'll be a waist to spend all that if you aren't going to be using it for resource use. why buy a high end car if you are just going to have it sitting there and not use the horse power. if you get what i mean. even though it is only 6 months old and you're being offered that much i think is a good deal. yeah if you sold it at that you would make a lost of $64 but if you really want it then you have an easy 1150 in your pocket.

  • @Athos523 my friends said the samething, wasting money lol. i should prob listen to them and save myself 800 dollars lol. i really want a nice laptop for unviersity though lol coming up this fall.

what about selling it, and waiting for the new 2011 macbook pros? like even buying the 2011 13. assuming they keep the 13 lol.

  • @randomrazr lol might be a good idea to listen then. a 13 inch is nice. i love mine but sometime i wish it had more power for what i needed. if you wait to sell when the new ones come out, you'll have to probably sell it for less. if you don't need it now and want save up another 100+ then by all means go for it. you can also get a student discount on them too. i got a $100 discount plus a ipod touch (after $200 mail-in rebate) when i bought mine. i forget what it came out too though.

  • Nice Video dude! How to you made the presentation ? It's very nice!

  • Thank U so much Mr.Goodlookin:)

  • great the i5 is awesome. Anybody got $2,000?

  • is that dirt on your chin??

  • i planned on getting the 13' MBP with 8gigs of RAM and an SSD, how would that be compared to an i5?

  • there doesn't seem to be much of a difference between the i5 and i7?

  • @hojobojo i5 is a dual core with 4 threads and the i7 is a quad core with 4 threads...

  • @zaknology no, I meant in the tests... there's a huge difference between core 2 duo and the i5 but less of a difference between i5 scores and i7 scores.

  • the i7 is nearly double everything INCLUDING the price

  • That's because were guys duh!!

  • my dell has got 2.18 fps lol noob

  • I am amazed no one has mention how amazingly good looking this guy is....

  • Nooo, I just bought the Core II Duo model! :(

I have to say though, I'm really happy with it regardless; around the desktop it easily keeps up with my i5 Windows laptop and i7 Windows desktop. As a new Mac user (and ex-hater, now I've finally put my ignorance aside after over a decade!) I can honestly say I'm hugely impressed with Macs on the whole.

In fact, I'm already saving for a 27" iMac after just two weeks of using my MacBook Pro :p

  • Now reaching speeds up to 2.66GHz, the new processors in the 13-INCH MAC BOOK PRO are big on performance. With the 1066MHz frontside bus and 3MB of shared L2 cache, all your applications will run faster and more efficiently than you thought possible.

  • hi man i'm really like your video which answered my questions but i was wondering to ask you if any way that i can find the macbook pro 13" with i5 or maybe in the future to wait for it, because i interested in the 13" only, can u recommend me something about it i will apreciate a lot, thanks man bye

  • I'm looking at maybe having around $2000 soon. I need word and AppleCare. is it worth it to spend the extra money and get the 15 inch i5? Should I wait till next update instead of getting it around Christmas?

  • Comment removed

  • @omarlugo1982 If you are not doing any heavy video editing, gaming and such you might want a 13". Befor you buy a MacBook pro wait till the end of this month when the MacBooks will (probably) get updated.

  • I am about to change my PC, and I am going to buy my first MacBook Pro. I am a Business man so I don not use any video o image editing software, or any design software. I am choosing between the MacBook Pro 13" and the MacBook Pro 15" core i5... what would you recomend guys?

  • I have the Macbook pro 2.53 2009 . i m thinking to sell it and buy hp envy i7 with 16g ram. whats your opinion ??

and.. how much is the price of it now. is in perfect condition.help!!!

  • I hope the 2011 mbp models provide blu-ray and 3.0 usb.

  • sick

  • What type of font are you using on during 0:30 Seconds?

  • When the i10 comes out, Ima be the first one to get it :P

  • i'm going to wait to the next refresh in 2011 and if they put a i3 in it then I will get one

  • how did u get your desktop on the mbp looking like this?

  • information overload. lol

  • buy the i5. the i7 will break. i know 3 that had the i7. it breaks

  • Thanks for this video. I work as a radiologist in Brazil using OSIRIX and I would like to ask about the performances between:

    1- Macbook Pro 13" 8 Gb RAM

    2- Macbook Pro 15" i5 with 4 Gb RAM

    Since now thanks for helping.

  • Thanks for the quality review, the problem for me will be money, however i will get a small loan to buy it, i have a question regarding the screen that you have in the back? could you tell me the model of it?

  • i5 processor ftw! not to expensive but works great and i7 is only a little better!

  • Hey man thanks this vid helped alot... I think im going to go with the core i7 but when im using my laptop im usually have facebook, email and apple store website open as well as me watching videos on youtube and Listining to my itunes music and being on msn messenger... Do you think i should stick with the 4 gigs of ram or upgrade to the 8 gigs of ram?

  • @AdamOliveira13 When multitasking ram is usually the most important thing, the core 2 duo should be fine for all of those things, and 4gigs of ram is plenty for an average user.

  • @AdamOliveira13

lol why use a i7 just for these things i am using photoshop and after effects on a core 2 duo with 4 gb and an very old 256 mb nvidia card ( or just macbook pro 13")

  • hey dude a small help for photo editing and some video editing and to some work will the 15inch macbook pro i5 2.44 core will be good right???

  • cant wait for the next revision, hope they have a core i3

  • i have sweaty hands. is the laptops gonna break? should i still get a 13" macbook pro?

  • i have sweaty hands. is the laptops gonna break? should i still get a 13" macbook pro?

  • Excellent comparison. Thanks!

  • the presenter is handsome!

  • your girlfriends macbook has dents guess she hit it hard on your head lol joking!... nice video brotha

  • I LOVE YOUR HOMER JAJA

  • Hey Im looking to get the intel core i5 but do you think its worth getting the i7 for an extra 700 bucks? keep in mind im 14 and dont have a job I get my money from doing stuff for neighbors and my parents I almost have enough for the i5... do you think i should wait or get the i5?

  • @alisson3000br yeah its pretty dump but they couldnt do different since core i3 wouldnt fit in it, search it on google :(

  • @alisson3000br The reason they wont put an i core CPU in there is because it will just generate way to much heat. Thats whats happening in the 15 and 17' models right now. OSX isnt a resource hog like windows so the 2.66ghz C2D is more than adequate, especially as it pertains to notebook use. And with 8gb's of ram either from apple or say ramjet . com, it will be just as fast as an i3.

  • Nice vid. My take is this. If I need Core i5 or i7 power, ill use my desktop mac. But for general purpose notebook, the 13' a great choice over the i5/7 MBP models for a couple reasons.

The C2D 2.66ghz cpu paired with upgraded 8gb of ram will pretty much handle most tasks thrown at it. Also, with the i5s and i7s, there is much more heat generated from the procs and overheating has been a common issue in those as well.

For a all you need in one notebook the 13' is the way to go!

  • So, I wanna do music and recording and since I"ll be back in school in a few weeks I won't be able to save up for the i5 or i7, do you think the 13 inch will be fine for recording music? Or should I start selling stuff?

  • thank you sir! :) time to rip my macbook pro 2008 and go get a i7!

  • very good vid, thank you dude!

  • i barley have enough for the 13 inch

  • hey man I was planning on buying the macbook pro 13 inch. But i am not so sure if i should get it. I will be using my computer for mostly web browsing, occasional gameplay, and just running basic programs like iwork. I am just asking cause my macbook right now is like 3 years old almost, and the 13 inch doesnt look like it has improved much. I can get a nice sony viao for the same price but i am not happy with the windows 7 OS. So would the 13 inch be good enough?

  • @rohitmd152 The 13" will do all that stuff without breaking a sweat!

  • i have a feeling the i5 and i7 are also wayy better in editing pictures and making videos

  • i bought the 13" macbook pro and ive used it for video editing on final cut express, among many other things, and its done very well handling everything

  • @luke11992 thanks, that's what I came on here to know. I

  • This video answers exactly what I was looking for; a performance comparison between the different Macbook Pro models. Good job!

  • The 2010 13" Macbook Pro smokes the 2008 Macbook 13'3".

    Ram on 2008 = 667 mhz DDR2

    Ram on 2010 = 1066 mhz DDR3

and the graphics are way better now. :)

  • most likely the 13" macbook pro will be stuck with the C2D for quite a while. the main reason that they don't have a i3 or i5 because intel dosn't want nividia to put a intergrated chipset next to the new icore line. it is mainly a legal battle then a hardware issue. if this keeps on going on for say about a year the sales of the macbook and the 13" macbook pro will drop dramatically do to out of date tech. so apple has to think of something fast...

  • g00d presentation br0!=]

  • What kind of powerpoint is this?

  • I am going to save up for a macbook pro

  • duh i5 / i7

  • I need a computer for my new school, im starting game desinging next year so i want a mac, what do you think i should get?

  • @cristian4anime2 what kind of tasks are you interested in doing??

  • @tldtoday uhm a bit of programming with C++ Java, and all that kind of stuff.

  • @FullArsenalTV

macs can run bootcamp, a software that allows you you run any OS such as Windows 7 on any apple product. That should handle the gaming issue. As for PC vs Macs, Apple has to win for its customer service and very universal network/community where help can always be available.
