Im 36 I grew up during the early 90's and love the music from that time, i dont know if kids today appreciate their music today, but maybe 20 years from now they will say the same thing I am saying now, who the fuck knows?
it's a bit sad the way people think about music..i urge people to listen to Dan le sac Vs scroobisu pip - snob. JUST FOR THOSES WHO WONT LISTEN TO IT... STOP BEING A SNOB WITH YOUR MUSIC, IT'S MADE TO BE HEARD MAN, ANYONE CAN USE IT!! :) i'm 18..if it's pop, rock, r'n'b or even soul, if the song being relesed has put a smile on someones face, it's a damn good song.!
@LadyMaewynn In a way I agree with you, but in another way I really, really don't. I'm 18. I listen to Mozart, I listen to Nat King Cole, I listen to Rusted Root, I listen to Eminem. My age doesn't determine what music I listen to. Remember that a huge part of Gaga and Perry's fans are grown up. Try not to generalize so much, and just be glad that there's so much variety and beauty in music ;)
@LadyM- I agree with Kenzie. I am 50 years old and I like many types of music, old and new. A great thing about music today is that everything is out there and people of all ages are enjoying all of it. If you think young people don't appreciate older music, just do a search here on YouTube for "Beatles Covers" and survey how many teenagers/young adults are covering The Beatles. Rather than thinking everything you hear on the radio is reality, dig a little deeper. I think you'll be encouraged.
been listening to all kinds of diff music all my life, never been big grateful dead or phish fan. i enjoy this albulm although. (also, seen dead 3x and phish once)
I ate a bunch of geltabs and all my friends left me alone in an apartment, I played this song over and over all night long, it's forever in my head....good song at least!!!
I dont think this song has any age barriers at all, but dont trip out and listen to it it gets weird
I ate a bunch of geltabs and all my friends left me alone in an apartment, I played this song over and over all night long, it's forever in my head....good song at least!!!
@LadyMaewynn You couldn't be more wrong, there are thousands of kids and teenagers who hate lady gaga, katy perry and all of those acts such as myself. I love music which is acoustic like this and listen to even new evolution of this type of music from the likes of bands such as bombay bicycle club or cajun dance party. All this kind of music has a different approach, i myself love so much different music like, reel big fish, the smiths, jack johnson, dinosaur jr and many more! and i am 16.
@domthasmoothie I completely agree with you. There are still a small few like myself that stand for music that is actually good, that actually involves talent
Proud to say that I'm sixteen year old girl, raised on Rusted Root and still a faithful listener of their music. So much life in it, all the new pop music has no soul.
Music should be life, and THIS song represents all of it.
I'm 14 and this is a billion times better music then lady gaga and katy perry, ofc some teenagers like lady gaga etc, but far away from all, i don't know anyone that like that kind of music, so plz don't say that we only listen to that kind of music, thank you!
@ffixdmc3 Come and hear the funeral marching Maybe this is your suicide Maybe this is more pure Pure than simple Maybe this is all I have for home Why have all beautiful people Brushed you on down? And brushed you on down? I saw the shame inside your addiction, Waitin' to see what was passed on by. I saw the shame and wondered why I should live, and die. Leave a note and tell me, Leave a note and tell me why.
I like this music. Not many people listen to this stuff anymore, or really anything that isnt Lady Gaga or Katy Perryish, haha. Especially the kids and teenagers - thumbs up if you agree :)
@LadyMaewynn im a teenager and i listen to this greatful dead phish all the good stuff this band is one of my favorites got to see them in st. louis so fun
@LadyMaewynn Please don't just say that all teenagers and kids like all the modern crap. I'm 13 and all the music that I like is from the 90's and earilyer. So don't speak for us, we can speak for our selves!
@LadyMaewynn thats so sad. lady gaga isn't good she's just trying to be wierd and her and katy perry are just embracing whats wrong with the world today. lets bring back whats beautiful not exsentuate the evil in society!
@LadyMaewynn I'm 19 :) I listen to this ANNND katy perry and heavy metal and rap and dirty dubstep :) :) I'm feeling in a fluffy fairy mood at the moment though and anything less then rusted root is too abrupt :D
@LadyMaewynn I'm 14 and I love all kinds of music. Especially acoustic stuff like this. There are a lot of anti-mainstream kids or kids who enjoy a lot of different genres! so thumbs up for the people who just love music in general!
@LadyMaewynn Really, that's quite an insult for a whole lot of teenagers these days. I prefer other music than the ones you've mentioned, and you should have a bit more recognition on that subject before saying that and generalizing it.
@LadyMaewynn you shouldn't put people into categories. I'm 17 years old and I like music of my mom's teenage years more than she does! I don't listen to the local radio stations purposely because it's all mainstream lady gaga/katy perry crap. I'd much rather hear a really great musician over a popular one just because they have the expensive equipment to make them sound good. so before you make assumptions, you should narrow down exactly who you are talking about. thanks
@LadyMaewynn on record, im a teen, nearing 15 in 4 months, and i dont listen to this new pop bullshit. rusted root, metallica, styx, i listen to the older stuff. haha.
@LadyMaewynn I'm 14 and i agree that most of the kids listen to the mainstream bullshit that contains no real talent. But i know a few kids who have great taste in music and I'm offended when people assume I'm like the other mindless apes.
such a beautiful song.......and it mimics the worst part of what it is to be human...to be alone....to be sad.......to be without the things that make you happy....in truth, it needed to be be represented, and rusted root did a wonderful job of it. However if anyone feels they need to inact this song I implore you to live on.....we NEED you here. All of us.
I'd never heard of Rusted Root til Stephen King's nephew gave me this album about 11 years ago. It has been in a constant loop on my playlist ever since. Beautiful stuff.
My dad got me into rusted Root and when I first heard this song, I really got the chills and goosebumps! Rusted Root is amazingly AWESOME! I'm in awe!
