  • How scary is it climbing such a knifeedge?

  • @purplemonkeyelephant Hi, It depends on the amount of snow. The year I did there was´t to much snow and the knife-edge was a little narrow, an a little scary for the views but not very difficult and amazing feelings. I recommend you for sure.

  • Hey, sust wanted to let u know that I climb the Island Peak 3 weeks ago and want to let confirm that u do not need a month . I left Lukla last 21.11 + went back to Katmandu on 6th Dec. AM. You just need a good aclimatation . doing the Gokyo Peak, the Chola Pass, the Kalapatar, the Everest Base Camp as well as the Chukum Re.. after all these you will get a good aclimatation for sure!! We start lc,jmbing the Island Peak from Base Camp 1 - at 00.45 AM reach the submit at 7.00AM.. WAS AMAZING!!!!

  • @aracelisarah Congratulations. Yes I'm agree. You only need two weeks. First for aclimatation you can do de everest base camp trekking ( for Gokyo and Chola Pass) and then the Island Peak summit. And of course, it's amazing. I still remember each moment. Do you find lot or few snow during de climb?

  • Hey, just to say that it's entirely possible to do it for much less than £3000. My friend and I have arranged the whole trip, with a sherpa and two porters booked for the Island Peak aspect of it (it's a month in total), for around £1500 each...I fly on the 3rd April and we've planned a much more varied and individual itinerary than for example Mountain Kingdoms offer, for a fraction of the cost...plus we're both only 18.

  • For those interested in second song of the video. "My Spirit Flies to you" the Buddist Monks. Enjoy

  • Yes it's Nepal. Sorry for the delay ;-)

  • I want another video to be uploaded soon...........featuring my friend Aayush and co......best of luck guys

  • can you please tell me which band plays the last song from your video?can you also tell me the name of the song?

  • This is good, well done.

It looks amazing. How much experience of winter mountaineering do you need for this?

I'd like to do it next year.

I walked the Jomsom trail and Annapurna base camp in '96 and truly loved Nepal.

Since then a lot of Scottish mountains, summer only so far.

  • @Rockpig1969. Sorry I ddn't see your question till now. It's interesting you have experience in winter mountain overall in glacier walks because there is a lot of crevasses. Feel free to answer any doubt.

  • @danieliglesiasucha Hi, thanks for the reply.

Well it's two years since my post and I still haven't done it.

Doubt I will if it means paying a company £3000.

I no longer believe in that kind of experience, I ever did.

If I go, it'll be with a couple of friends.

  • Great video. I just love Nepal.

BTW, what was the second song (after Orff)?

  • this isnt nepal...

  • Island Peak (Imha Tse) is in Nepal

  • Very nice video - and Orff's Carmina Burana fits in perfectly! Honestly, I wish more people would have this sort of idea of musically underlaying a video, instead of the blaring, earsplitting crappy pop music one usually gets bombarded with when watching otherwise very good mountain videos!

  • Thank you veru much. I'll try to uoload new adventures in the same way.

  • ive climbed island peak twice both times traversing, the hardest and best way what a beautiful climb, train hard, have courage

  • Oh... I want to go back!!! I climbed Island Peak 4th of Nov 2007

    Thanks for a great video!!

  • Hey what training did u guys do before u went to Island Peak

  • This has to be my fav video - its just an awesome climb

  • En este video falta el medico de la expedicion que es el mas importante y se ve mucho al calvo ese con cara de pisapraos.
