  • awesome. subscribe to my account. watch my short 2d animation film I have..

  • there were so many things wrong with this, work on your anticipation

  • ^__^

  • Wow this is great :D

  • hey good one.....and r u an indian

  • @cdzzz92

Hey ! Thanks, yep I am Indian.

  • oh.....me tooo....

  • @cnlrules hey so any art that some one makes is always frame by frame drawn out and colored?? i never fully grasped moving drawings, whats the frame rate that you need to do to make an efficient and "moving" drawing?? awesome work!

  • @boxa888 Drawn frames are generally done at 24 FPS .... however to make an efficient and "moving" drawing.. takes a lot of practice and good knowledge on the subject, but well worth getting into, it's a great feeling to see your own creations come to life [:

  • tres bien fait ! chapeau !

  • when i saw the pitch and then the bird flying... i was kind of expecting something, haha.

  • the bird needs more body movement. good job on rest.

  • very talented my friend good luck keep it up

  • Totally off balance work……….. Work on balance a lot.

  • you r vary good

  • these animations are classic tom and jerry/ mickey mouse great job

  • How do you keep the line quality so consistant?

  • @sebcastilho Mechanical pencils can help that, and a steady hand

  • well done !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • i like the video. i just finished my first clay mation check it out and let me know what you think.

  • nice work :)

  • By any chance were you trying to demonstrate the animation principles with this? Its really good work.

  • @Blackthawne

I was trying to apply the animation principles that I had been learning/ reading about.

  • good work

  • Wow! you make them properly! I cheat, and use animation software!

  • It's not cheating using animation software. It takes skill to use programs like that. Trust me I'm trying to learn.

  • I really love your animation! especially the one at 00:14! Amazing! i love the leaf too! you're talented! how did you learn it?

its my biggest dream to study character Animation ._. but i really have problems with the perspective. I don't know how to let the character do an turn with the head, for example. Do you have tips for that?

  • Herzverrueckt - look up "The Animator's Survival Kit", by Richard Williams.

  • Thank you very much!

  • @herzverrueckt I would recommend these books - "Character Animation crash course - by Eric Goldberg" and "Animator's Survival Kit by Richard Williams", These books would definitely help you get along

  • I see a lot of techniques and effects that are used by Disney, like anticipation of events, using less frames during an action, letting some objects take a few frames to catch up, etc. It's very good work. I look forward to see what else you do.

  • animation is feb but bird have to more improvement . i suppose more bend d body

  • Excellent work!!!!

  • @ScratOlga

    thanks !

  • cool

  • @venugopaldas

    thanks :)

  • omg i love this. love ur artwork 5*

  • @SilasR7

    thanks !

  • awesome!!

  • @wizardballx14

    thanks !!

  • what speed dod you use i am tring every thing but it seem choppy using 2's any help would help

  • @aknight4u2001

Earlier I dint have much understanding of how to use 2s and 1s. Now that I have better understanding of it, I would recommend using 1s for fast actions and 2s for slower stuff.

  • Great stuff for your first reel. I just started a 2d animation class and its hard but tremendous fun.

  • @codyserio

Rightly said ! Its hard but really fun :)

  • reference

  • whow good job! is there a specific program you use?

  • pencil and pen

  • @nappyr13

at uni after drawing them with lightboxes, we use stopmotion pro with P2 cameras to take th pics.

  • @nappyr13

I used Toom Boom Studio to convert the scanned images into videos. But there are a lot of them available - Pencil, Flipbook.

  • really good mate!

  • nice...

  • Well done. Bravo.

  • damn..this is good!!! I want to be an Animator, but I'm afraid that I'm not capable enough D:......is it hard to do?

  • Thanks! It sure is a lot of hard work, but its so much fun to see drawings come to life. If you really want to be an animator, go for it.

  • Cool stuff!

  • Thanks!

  • AWESOME dude!! I was wondering, could you recommend any book?? I wanna learn it for the interests sake, and can't go through formal learning.

  • "Animator's Survival Kit" by Richard Williams. Everything you could learn at a school is in this book!!

  • Thanks :)

toocoolo said it right, read the Richard Williams book. The best guide out there for understanding animation.

  • Thats really hard! My brother is an animater and it tooks one week for him to make 1 min

    nice job dude

  • this is really good!!! i would never be able to do something like that.

  • Thank You ! I appreciate that :)

  • Thanks :) Right now I am working on the animation of my short film.

  • nice work dude

  • Thanks !

  • this was the coolest thing ive ever seen. I try to animate but all i have is a scanner. THen i just click through the pictures really fast. Im having a hard time figuring whether to be a concept artist or an animator. I really like designing characters and stuff but i also like making my drawings come to life. Although i havent done many animations cause i dont have any kind of software what so ever. I like 2d alot. What advise on software could you give me. Any other advice?

  • Great to see your enthusiasm. I think you can get an animation table or simply build a light box - a wooden box with slanting top and put a acetate(I am not sure) glass on it. Put a bulb inside and turn it on.

You can then pin drawings to the wooden frame on top and then using the light below draw next drawings in sequence.

Then you can scan them and put them together using software like MonkeyJam software or FlipBook.

  • Other way, you can just draw directly in Flipbook, try its trial version.

Biggest tip I can give you is dont get caught up in software. Have fun !

  • I'm studieing the same animation movements right now, so I kinda know how much work it took you to make this.

Nice job, it was really worth it.

  • Yes, its a lot of work, but its fun to watch your drawing become alive (atleast sorta), isnt it ;)

  • Very nice work!

  • Thanks for watching.

  • Your animations are very cute! Nice work!

  • Thank you!

  • i wanted the bird to hit by the stone !!

  • Lovely stuff

  • Thanks everyone !

I am now studying character animation at AM. You can watch my new work on my blog, mentioned in the video info.

  • qwool

  • wow, awesome I especially loved the candle...I always wanted to be able to do traditional animation, but the redrawing was too daunting so I never tried :P

  • Hi. Nice Work. I read your blog about getting accepted to Animation Mentor. Congrats. Anyways, I was wondering if you have any word of advice. Right now, I'm only a high school freshman, but I really dream of one day becoming an animator. Do you have any advice on which classes to take (art, computers, etc), anything I should be strong in? Thanks.

  • I would suggest you study drawing. That would really help. Take life drawing classes. Computers you can learn when you start to do animation. You can always start studying animation right now. Get these books.. "Illusion of Life: Disney Animation" and "Animator's Survival Kit". Join some good character animation program.. AM is awesome! Whatever you do, dedicate completely to it ! :)

  • hey chaitanya, ur work's pretty good for a first timer. but being a classical 2D animator myself, i believe when u were animating ur characters, many of the poses were off balance... as if they're about to fall. and u gotta work a li'l on the timing. why dont u check out my work and comment on them? they're also my first!

  • That's really good work for three months worth of animation! I can't stand punching my sheets from the bottom, the post on my pegboard feel funny on my hands and I could never draw right, so I punch from the top and capture upside down. BTW I use I-stop motion pro.

  • Sorry for the really late reply on this .. but try using the bottom pegs, you can then flip through your drawings then and see how the poses are flowing. I know it does pain a little to get used to those pegs :D

  • hi, cnlrules, thats fine one collection, i think it is not yours first, well trained and fine one. just one question? did draw on paper and capture? or directly draw on flash?.

  • hi, thanks :) trust me, this is my first effort, i've been doing this since last 3months

Yes, i have drawn each of them and captured. Havnt used computers for anything here other than putting together a video.

  • thanks. for your reply. You know I am a educator in visual communication for higher studies and won the technologies company for web, multimedia and training. some times as faculty for others multimedia education centers.

  • Awesome!!! Especially if that's just three months. I think your future animations are going to be great!

  • Thank u :) Yep, will surely try to create even better animation

  • What software do you use to play back your line tests?

  • I am using ToonBoom Studio and sometimes Flash 8 to run my line tests.

  • Thanks, I use Flash 8 as well, but I was curious if there was something else that you were using. I need to sit down and figure out ToonBoom. I've never used it.

  • I like it... very old-school. Your style is reminiscent of old Disney short cartoons.

  • Thanks a Lot ! This comment means a lot to me :)

  • Heh... you're welcome! n_n

  • Superb animation

    keep it up dude..........

i cannot believe that it is completely hand drawn......

well to ask you how many slides you had to draw to make this animation...........

so sum up it is really good.......
