  • Powerful epic tune of electronic genius.

  • Shame this vid starts a couple of mins into the track. Tis a work of genius. I have the whole vid anyway. Used to work in a Soho basement doing runs of Mute records (amongst others) stuff. Made myself some nice comps :)

  • good evil sounding tune ...prefer the album version though.

  • Brilliant ! F***in Brilliant !

  • it's one of my lifetime classics!

  • wow! never knew they made a video for this track.

  • Best Add N To (X) track ever!

  • Truly amazing, I discovered it by accident and bought the cd, after that it started being played in just about every household here, who knew? Guess the darkness in iceland in the winter needs songs that describe utter despair and darkness!

  • my friend said this song is about beastiality with a horse

  • @warlockboyburns Weird I recently had a drug induced psychosis shortly after watching a doco about a guy who died from horse sex. I felt like it was integrally and distinctively linked to recent cosmic expressions of existence. Towards the end of my psychosis I listened to "Revenge Of The Black Regent" for the first time. I felt it was some cosmic expression of existnence from the future about our past.

  • @warlockboyburns Only a horselover to know that.......

  • @Tyrian11 he does love horses...

  • @warlockboyburns Only a horse lover to know that.......

  • Fuckin tune! I remember comin back from techno and listenin to this album with a big fat green one unt hidin in a cupboard ! :-) happy days? happy daze :-)

  • thank you so much.. I love that song and I love the video... wow!

  • Who is the singer? Is she a guest or a membet of the band?

  • @polinaski As mentioned by other commenters, the vocals on this track are by Alison Goldfrapp.

  • @Mouldytone

really? I never thought of it

  • Revenge of the Black Regent, Magnificent.

  • god, i was thinking "this sounds exactly like alison goldfrapp" and sure enough. good find

  • sounds like some of radiohead's music was influenced by them....Kid A, Amnesiac

  • tro bn s son!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Love this track. Saw them live in London back in '98/'99. Bent my mind a bit and it's never straightened again.

  • @misterkatman Yeah... How do they do that anyway??

  • For anyone who's not aware, Steve Claydon [drummer] is now an accoplished artist; check out some of his work, you're bound to find it on the net somewhere.

  • i first heard this song the other night and it's really good

  • odd but quite good

  • This is great and just perfect at Givenchy´s SS 09.

  • Can anyone recommend any other music that sounds like Add n to X?

  • check out my playslists ... i have lots of eclectic mix of things ... ( ugh ; language is a virus !)

  • @ tonymulryan.

Goldfrapp were heavily influenced by them in their earlier albums.

  • she went out with one of them in this band ages ago, i love 'total all out water' which is alison singing as well

  • maaaan.. another bad quality-sounding vid.. it sounds better than this kids!

  • sounds good to me on my speakers . . . best song !

  • I didnt know this had video =0

at first the song reminded me of Myxomatosis by Radiohead.

  • Sick! Really sick!!

  • my fist time was reasonable people!

  • seeing this on tv changed my life.

  • the first time in terror fabulous

  • PSYCODELLIC BLISS !

  • G-20 meltdown

  • It's a fantastic track but I always felt the video needed someone in a black cape riding a monstrous horse.

  • don't forget the evil moustache :)

  • Definitely an evil moustache!

  • it sounds like marianne faithfull being buggered by the future,

  • Thankyou

  • great vid and song ¿:)

  • OOOO! It's Miss Frapp!!!

  • you mean the vocals, right? she isnt the woman in the video if thats what you meant!

  • this is so dramatic

  • WARNING!!! SHOOT HEROINE B4 WATCHING

  • Ohhh you can hear the EMS here!

  • thanks for uploading my favourite add n to (x) tune... i'm in love with moog, theremin & esp. ann ;-)

  • Great tune. I made a video of this before the gulf war- with Tony Blair's face slowly melting, intercut with clips from the Nuremburg Rallies and various actrociries. This is the perfect song, sounds creepy, toutured and evil. ahhh happy days!

  • pure beauty ! band and video.. I wish there was more :p

  • Great video. Anyone know who directed it?

  • i did...

  • Respond to this video... i did...

  • *****

  • them and goldfrapp single handedly quadrupled korg ms-20 prices - they go for 900 quid now!

  • ...only for the lowpass filter...;)

  • ADD N TO (ME)

  • Totally brilliant band - great records and amazing live. Genuinely disturbing synth sounds - quite an achievement. Their early Vero Electronics EP is fabulous. Sorely missed - I loved the way that Barry 7 lived Add N to (X) as a high art concept thing.

  • yep.. its always blahblah "analog =warm" blah blah blah.. now the emulators can simulate some of the "warm" but "disturbing" is magic that only the real deal can do.. this band proved it..

  • The voice you can hear from 1:35 onwards is none other than Alison from Goldfrapp. I've only recently been made aware of this association, despite adoring both bands for many years now. It made me smile.

  • It's Alison Goldfrapp?! God, I should have figured that one out myself. Like you, I've adored both for years!

  • I think it's telling in a way, since a lot of stuff from Black Cherry sounds very similar. But regardless, I failed to make the connection till someone told me.

  • really?i knew of this for a full 3 jupiter sun cycles before THEY even started the countdown for the destruction of man.

  • You'll also find a very young-looking Alison on Orbital's 'Are We Here'.

  • I first heard of her from reading this album's notes years ago.

I hadn't heard of anything else she'd done until recently.
