2) The first disciples of the Yeshua were Jews. Luke was only the non-Jewish, non-Hebrew writer.

We have had such kind of laws (or rather political instructions) in Sweden for about 15 years, and rates for other crimes have skyrocketed. Why? Because the police and justicesystem were instructed to put hate-crimes before all other crimes. Putting unproportional resources on a very very small amount of crimes like that, seems to destroy the sense for justice through the whole system.
What the pastor was talking about resembled very much what we have seen, and been through, here.

We have had these laws on our books for over 40 years. Something that the fundamentalists wish to ignore. It is only because these laws may be extended to more people that they hate that a fuss is being made again.

I am not prejudiced against christian values, only against those who feel that they can speak for all christians in the manner presented here. I've watched the video and live the experience of being denigrated on a daily basis by those who espouse a version of christianity that would make Christ cringe.

You and the video haven't given any cases to explain that occured here in the United States. I also find it quite interesting that the actual text of the bill is never referenced, only comments about it. Could it be that the creator of this video doesn't want the audience to know what is contained in Section 10 of the actual text of the bill?

I favor people who tell their story of the travesty that they recieve from the government for having an opinion. Its a load of bull ship if you ask me. Human rights commissions and tribunals are full of it, and its not a democratic or balanced procedure at all. Freedom of speech is necessary to have freedom period. If were not free to voice our opinions and disagree with others what do we have? A country where theres cencorship and control over the population. Imprisonment for verbal error

The human rights commissions in Canada basically make it so anyone can make a human rights complaint....even the most trivial of complaints. Ezra levant was in the vid i sent u. He was one such complaint. Problem is, the right to freedom of speech gets minimized by the FREEDOM TO NOT BE OFFENDED!! Its actually part of the government, these commissions that persecute people who disagree about such things as Islam, or homosexuality, the danish cartoons reprinting was one such issue.

Still preaching to the choir. Speech is not protected in Canada to the extent that it should be. How is this related to H.R. 1913, a piece of legislation before the U.S. Congress which deals with physical acts of violence?

How does a piece of legislation created in the U.S. dealing with physical acts of violence in the U.S. relate to speech issues in Canada? It is apples and oranges. This seems to be a common theme with those who oppose this bill, comparing it to everything but existing legislation that is already in place to protect other groups.

Psychoanalyzing the level of "hate" in a crime is irrelevant. The criminals are just as guilty regardless of their motives.
The victims are just as dead if their killers "meant nothing personal" or "hated them." To assign more punishment to a "hater" is to assign a lesser value to the life of other victims. That violates the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment. This "Hate Crime" legislation is unconstitutional, and all representatives and senators voting for it should know better.

On behalf of all rational, reasonable Oklahomans, I apologize for this poor, misguided man's attempt at scaring people by misrepresenting legislation aimed at keeping people safe. It saddens me to see christian ministers choose this dark path of divisive, hateful, "not what Jesus would do" bigotry. These people are still singing the false chorus of "gay people as pedaphiles." Indeed, kjvonly01 got it right: This man and others like him have called evil good and good evil.

Please try telling me how the words out of anyone's mouth have actually hurt anybody, save their "feelings."
This "hate crimes" law would actually result in American clergy members being arrested if they even dared to mention that the Bible teaches that homosexuality is a sin, which it quite clearly does.
If and when this ever starts happening, it will only be a matter of time before violence erupts and martial law gets declared.

Have you heard the term "inciting to riot?" Indeed, words have been used for centuries to incite people to do horrible things to each other.
American clergy will not be arrested for what they preach from their pulpits. Indeed, there is wording in the bill to that effect.
The Bible also "clearly teaches" that people who eat shellfish should be put to death. Shall we post "stoning squads" outside every Red Lobster in the country?

As for inciting to riot, don't worry - Obama's overreaching power grabs, arrogance, confiscatory taxation, and contempt for anyone who opposes him will provide plenty of incitement and then some in this country.

Ignoring your sarcasm for a moment, where is the contradiction? Ministers today can teach their congregations how their particular faith interprets the bible. Everyone may not agree, but that speech is protected. Insinuating or directing people to act on those verses is certainly incitement, though that area is handled quite nicely by radio "commenters." If your minister directed you to "kill all homosexuals" would you do it?

Can the author of this video (or someone else) please post a link to the full text of the bill as it currently stands? Also a reference to the bill number would be nice. Over and over, the video quotes from some supposed bill but there is no way for anyone to verify that what it quotes is even accurate without references. Please post a link to this "pedophile protection act" that you speak of... preferably directly linked from a US govt website and not a private publication secondary source.
