It still amazes me how some people try to correct other people's misspellings with more misspellings. I am talking about the way jerrynog uses "you're" when he/she is supposed to use "your." This is a very common error (among many others) all over youtube

uumm, no. "Your" is a possessive and there is no possessive where I used "you're," which is simply a contraction of "you are." As in, "if you are intent on critiquing someone," as I wrote, using the contraction "you're" to shorten the two words into one. If I had said, "if you're intent IS to critique someone," then you'd be right. Please read posts before you try to dissect them, professor.

Yes, because this woman CLEARLY opposes helping people because she's sad that a kitten was burned alive in an oven. As a said, no life is a dime a dozen. Just because we're human doesn't mean we suffer more than animals. And I will indeed take up learning critical reading skills, but only if you accompany me, if you "pls."

In absolute terms, I agree with you. Relatively, though, a person's life is infinitely more important than a kitten's. Sorry, that's just the truth. I know, it's terrible, but sometimes so is the world. Oh, and I like the sarcasm with the whole "pls" jab, very nice...except "pls" would be a spelling error and not a critical reading one, which reinforces my original point that you need to learn those skills. A for effort, though. Don't worry, there's room for extra credit in the future :)

notice i never said that killing the kitten was a good thing. in a perfect world, candy hearts and gumdrops would rain from the sky onto Happytown, but we don't live in a perfect world and the whole point is that a kitten's life is a dime a dozen compared with a person's. Her making this video is a waste of time and encourages people to ignore human causes in favor of animals. I'm sorry if my "little narcissistic head" was advocating helping people. learn some critical reading skills pls :)

I like animals, but this lady is a fucking moron. If you have this much time on your hands to bitch and cry about some dime-a-dozen kitten, you could easily spend it helping human beings in poverty, homelessness, or general hardship---this is where the real important work is to be done. Worry about the animals after we solve humans' problems.

I see your point in this, but I also think that any kind of killing done by humans, if for no reason, is a human problem that needs to be corrected. Some people are complete dicks and think this stuff is fun, but in truth, they are doing something horrible. To take life for no reason wether animal or human, I believe is a human's problem. But I see your point about worrying about things that need our attention more. Animals should come second to humans. I wouldn't risk my life for a cat.

Thank you! Finally somebody understands what I'm saying. Killing the kitten was a horrible thing, but it's the context of this lady's response that irks me. If she is at all representative of the average citizen, then it is ridiculous how upset we all get when a cat gets killed. If only we all got this upset and inflammatory about genocide, for instance, Rwanda and the Sudan may not have happened. But, instead, people on here post about life sentences and executions of animal abusers.

But if you read the rest of the post, from which you cherry picked one line to distort its meaning, you'd see that I never said it's wrong to get upset about animal abuse. It's just wrong to get upset with it to this extent, especially when there are far greater crimes being committed that we seem to care nothing for.

Now, *this* sentiment is what I have a problem with. No, it is not wrong to get this upset. There are few crimes (if any) worse than burning a living being- human or animal- to death.

Fine, I respect that. But consider that humans are themselves animals. So what we have is two differing, but supposedly equally important categories of animals, humans and cats. But when cats are killed, we get detailed news reports, ginned up mob rage (in every media outlet), and legions of internet posters proclaiming death sentences and life in prison for the killers! When a million people in Rwanda die, we rationalize it away and turn off the TV. (Cont.)
