Large displacement engines typically aren't designed for only the highest possible peak hp, they're built for a beefy torque curve at an affordable price. Especially when used in a street car of this size. Today's "hp/L" ricer logic is too simplistic to mean much, especially with V8s.

Ricer logic focuses on peak high rev hp at the exclusion of everything else, and treats displacement as if it's somehow a negative. There are simple ways to increase the peak hp of any engine, but that doesn't automatically mean it's faster or getting "more" value from it.
With the same peak hp, a larger displacement will be more ballsy. Advertised hp only tells 1 point on the curve. Turbo is closest thing to a substitute, but that's not a free lunch either.
