  • "On your knees!...I asked it of Julius Caeser..I DEMAND it of you!"owned LOL.Love this film Elizabeth and Richard are brilliant, and it' so sad at times.

  • Every time I see her with him at the dinner table I look at the black grapes in the bowl, then look at her head, and back at the bowl. If anything he could've said "I'd very much appreciate it if you took those grapes off your head".

  • Your Egyptian Hahhhhhlot!

  • "She sleeps, I hear, fully clothed!"

    Couldn't have said it better.

  • " you have not been dismissed.... You are now dismissed" A woman with power!

  • Elizabeth was the Greatest actress of All times.

    R.I.P.

  • Poor Cleopatra!!!!!!! :***(

  • favorite line in the movie she punked him good lmao

  • I ASKED it of Julius Caesar

    I DEMAND it of you!

    Oscar worthy performance right there

  • @SGetsReal "You dare to ask the pro counsel of Rome "

  • la unica

  • 5:17-5:26 too epic. lmao. then she kills him again: "I ASKED it of julius Caesar, I DEMAND it of you!"

  • @SKULLRED2010 That is right. But Richard Burton (Anthony) died 1984.

  • Anthony lacks chivalry...treating Cleopatra's ladies-in-waiting as if they were dogs lol

  • i love the part where she orders marc antony what to do while she's on her throne lol.

  • Poor Cleo, and poor octavia.

Cleopatra is denied the men she loves, and octavia is doomed to forever live in the shadow of cleopatra by the men she loved.

  • this is how min-skirt was invented....richard burton LOLLLL...again its too short...

  • Que mujer más bella!!! Y más encima actua muy bien. DeP

  • Wine goes sour?

  • One of the best Films ever!!I have watched this film many times.Liz Taylor & Richard Burton were fantastic..These are my favorite scenes too.

  • Im agree with you! fewcusi maybe she take tooo personal his rol in the movie and

confuse her in the REAL LIFE!!!!!

  • Richard Burton had a big head and a skinny body. Elizabeth truly cheated on her husband for that? A scrub?

  • @fewcusi have you looked at eddie fisher? lol

  • she wasn't known for her speed in paticular and yet,we have this.

  • The changes in costume denote that they argued for days.. I've always thought

  • ok - so I see what you are all talking about on the chaning of the outfit in one second but if you would also notice the conversation is taking places in two areas...the first half in her tomb and the second in the palace...so the change in costume is warrented.

  • Liz Taylor - what a WOMAN!

  • @zellerhelsinki amen! a goddess

  • She changes clothes and hairstyles 3 times in the coarse of one argument...

  • How the hell does Cleopatra change her costumes and hair in like one second?!

  • @Mittenzzs its an egyptian wig

  • @Mittenzzs I take it that the argument isn't an unique one, it's like they were fighting over several days

  • "YOU HAVE NOT BEEN DISMISSED!"

    -stares-

    "you are now dismissed"

    Lol, I love it

  • 1:40...awwkkkwarrrdd.

  • why does her costume change with her mood? looks like egyptian and greek women were more obsessed with how they looked than modern day women lol

  • she had one outfit on, then another thenanother within 1 minute....im i goofy?????

  • were is Cleopatra's son?

  • ooohh!!! you go girl!! "you will kneel.i asked it of Julious Ceaser i Demand it of you"!!!!

  • Historically Antony and Octavia's marriage thrived, they had 2 daughters both named Antonia. The movie did overlook Antony's plans to conqueor Parthia and his mini Armenian victory.

  • @HistoryLover1550 How does someone handle two daughters with the same name? That just sounds confusing

  • @lochnessmnstr Ikr! perhapsbecause one was the major and one was minor was how Antony annd Octavia handeled it Idk for sure.

  • Loved it when she grabs Antony's sword and starts swinging it hitting thins in anger and then stabbing her bed.

  • Caesarion's hardly seen throughout the movie.

  • If Antony and Cleo's 3 kids had been shown in this movie, it would've made their relationship more dramatic.

  • Cleopatra was outraged when Antony 'stabbed her in the back" by marrying Octavia.

  • aww poor cleo. she really did fell for marc more than she did with cesear. her heart was broken how did she really end up.

  • I hate how fat Irene Schariffs or whatever's horrible clothes make her look like. The costumes that were used for the first Cleopatra made Liz look so gorgeous and were historically accurate.

  • Woweee the Egyptians invented the clothes hangar.

  • Octavia is such a b***h

  • 1:40 UGLY!

  • @SpilledCoffeeStudios haha yeah !!!!!!!

  • @TheMusic3773 Hell Yes

  • I ASKED it of Julius Ceasar! I DEMAND it of you!

  • @gregoriodavila I loved it when she shouted that!

  • "Your master must not be love. Never love. Give yourself to love, and you give yourself to forgetfulness of what you are and who you are and what you want" Hell yes.

  • damn 4hours long 0_o

  • I don't know why she's so upset! She's much prettier than Octavia, there's no competition!

  • @AmericanEvita

I don't like the scene, but it actually reveals how much she loved Antony! Because of this, she was willing to act less than a dignified queen by throwing vases and cutting a curtain. She was not acting spoiled. She was deeply hurt by the first person she ever loved. All her previous relationships had been strictly political. Cleopatra's love for Antony brought her downfall. Had she not cared for him, she most likely would have made another political alliance with Octavian.

  • @spaciousgalaxy I dont think so. Her relationship was both politcal and romatic with Antony. With Caesar dead, Antony Being Caesars cousin and right hand man was probably the most powerful and influential Roman left at the time so she allied with him. Little did she know that the scheming Octavian would slowly seduce the roman senate and the people into hating Antony.

  • RICHARD & ELIZABETH:

Legendary and without any doubt the most beautiful couple of the XX century.

The great and main romance of their whole life took place at a time when Cleopatra ordered Antony: "On your knees!" .... and he obeyed....being unable to resist her charms...on screen and beyond it.

  • @84maryna he didnt kneel to her because he was so smitten they were already in a battle of egos he wouldnt have kneeled from charm he kneeled cause he was in the egyptian court and it was demanded of him

  • In Part 17, she said...

"Perhaps consult with your superior in Rome...Octavian...Caesar Octavian

"You will kneel, on your knees.

I asked it of Julius Caesar, I demand it of you." You have NOT been dismissed.

We women know what to say to get under a man's skin...both to irritate and intoxicate him. Great delivery.

  • FIRST, I would love to see an African American actress to play this role. That being said, Taylor NAILED it. She exhibited the pain, anger, & jealousy of a scorned woman with great feminine guile. Loved it!

    Loved their banter. Great chemistry.

  • i tought she was good at the scene she is mad/sad at marc anthony

many actresses of today wouldnt pull it off,

and besides movies at that time used to be more exagerated,

just in how they kiss is way different in how they kiss now in movies,

and there is no comparison needed between vivian leigh and elizabeth taylor,

we all now who steals the show.

  • Vivian Leigh could've taken this part in her heyday and mopped the floor with Elizabeth Taylor. Especially this scene where Cleopatra is being stern and queenly. Just my thought...

  • @AmericanEvita : I dont think it would have been the same passionate Cleopatra if she had done that. Petty, yes. But much more in line with her fiery character.

  • @AmericanEvita uhm....this is why the movie is epic! This IS.... REAL DRAMA at it's best! and this is how people expressed their emotions back then.

  • hell hath no fury than a woman scorned

  • @lilly032 Soooo true!

  • I love her quick costume changes. ........amazing. :D

  • @Beatleschick1 I think they do that to show that they argue over that particular point for quite some time...

  • i love Cleopatra @ 9:24 "BOTH!!! & DAMN YOU FOR NOT UNDERSTANDING EITHER!!!"

  • Antony says Roman Empire. Its not yet a Roman empire. Its still Roman Republic.. Still a good scene. I loved when she said" I asked it of Julius Ceasar. I demand it of you." Best line in the movie.

  • how dare you treat poor Cleopatra!??? I kill yoU!

  • the hairdress Octavia wears wasnt invented at her time

  • the table is so long

  • "You have NOT been dissmissed.."

    ..5 seconds later of waiting

    "You are now dissmissed"

I love comebacks. She is my idol.

  • "Put it another way... I give to you 2/3." Love it! Best scene in the entire movie...

  • lol hissy fit much

  • The acting by Elizabeth Taylor in this film is unprecenteded. Every word, every line delivered with such conviction, to the point where ones believes it is in fact Cleopatra herself. Excellent, Excellent. Excellent.

  • the different outfit changes denotes the passage of time- they mean it to be a long

hash-out-eventually she wears him out, and she's right, too-

"...he has made of me unmistakably your whore!..never fear Octavian?

"it is he now who I think must be unafraid..

    too true-

  • "I will what?"

    "on... your... knees"

" you dare ask the pro-consul of the roman empire?!"

" I asked it of Julius Caesar, I DEMAND IT OF YOU!!"

god i love women in power

  • i absolutely loved that last line :) its like you had the audacity to marry someone else AFTER me so therefore i DEMAND this of you!!!!!!!

  • Really I have been inspired by this movie on how I want my house to be. Roman/Egyptian/Greek.

I hope I can find architects and engineers that can pull it off

  • "She sleeps I hear fully clothed"

I love that, how Cleopatra seemed to have such contempt in her voice.

  • "if you choose to regard me as such" 5:08

  • Got it. :-D

  • Wow, Cleopatra has such a wrath!

  • i dont blame her. :-D

  • I'd be pissed like that to

  • " ON YOUR KNEES.....I asked it of Ceasar, I DEMAND it of you"

    LOLOLOLOL...A WOMAN SCORNED!!!!

Ok seriously she had three outfits in the same conversation in less than one minute, for real?

  • awsome line lol

  • That is probably my favorite line of the whole movie!!

  • This scene is so unnecessary: just an excuse for Taylor to go berserk while wearing a negligee - yes: it bothered Cleopatra when Antony went off, for multiple reasons. Neither Cleopatra or Octavia was this shallow, or insipid, but then the men look tough and complex in contrast. Antony's arrogance as envoy of Rome is accurate.

  • Except that Cleopatra really loved Antony. She was with Caesar for Power, with Antony by love. I think this is the normal reaction of a cheated woman.

  • @YukoxDoll she might have loved both of them. She might have married Caesar for power and or love, she might have married Antony for power and or love. I think she married Caesar for power only. He was much older than her. Why else would she marry him? I think that when ceasar died she had to resort to a backup plan for her quest for power. Mark Antony being ceasars cousin and right hand man and one of the most powerful romans left was the best available option and fell in love with him.

  • hehehehe men in skirts... wow...

  • she is so pissed haha
