It is exaggeration to say that the Great Depression lasted two decades; it is entirely accurate to say that after criticizing his opponent, Franklin Roosevelt followed the same plan for economic recovery - a huge increase in government spending and programs. So Hoover was vindicated in that FDR followed his plan, even if the voters emotionally rejected him from office. At least Americans were employed by PWA - FDR's bailouts. Not so with the current bailouts of BHO. Only the rich benefited.
For every American employed by the gubment, it is estimated that 2.3 jobs were NOT created in the private sector. So the higher the gov employment figures, the worse the real economy became.
Progressives are cancer....both republican and democrat progressives. Hate em....teddy roosevelt, hoover, mccain.....all these republicans are for big government.

Starting with woodrow wilson progressive government officials began expanding government to control the value of our money, what type of businesses we can have, even down to how we should live. And the united states is not a democracy, it is a republic. Its a big distinction.

It is not an economic ideology. Economic progressivism supports a mixed economy, so you cannot be refering to that either.

A "mixed" economy is one where government plays a bigger role in regulating money and commerce.....how is that not socialism?
