FOR THE LAST TIME LOL: Flower at the ending was a projection of Setsuna memories of the desert flower that was oh so prominent throughout the entire series. Setsuna regarded the flower as a symbol of peace, hence ELS having made aware of his experiences, try to show the world that they actually come in peace, by transforming themselves into the flower that they thought symbolises peace. But I still think that the filmmakers could have made the link stronger
The movie compared to the first exellent 1st and 2nd can be discribe in a single word and that is a disappointment. The overall aliens idea isn't bad and the movie starts good. But the rest ist a failure. Simple storyline, messy battles, which are just sharpshooting metatic nails in space, no interesting dogfight at all. And the ending with the flower in space.. and then the Credits God... what was that? The Aliens got flower and then kiss kiss, let's make peace... heh.
The action scenes in the movie are the stuff of legend. It's to bad though that the ending is utter shit. The message is total bullshit, the ELS were hostile from the very beginning. You can't take an enemy that is clearly evil and just magically make them this misunderstood lifeform. And seriously, they turned into a giant flower. That's so stupid, god why!

It would have worked in Gundam Seed, because Seed had realized characters on both sides and prejudice was a profound theme.

Instead they use the 00 Quanta which not only looks silly with its asymmetrical shoulders, but its real purpose was to speak with the ELS. People watch Gundam to see giant robots blow things up, if I wanted a meaningful well written story (which this was certainly not) I wouldn't be watching anime.

AT first, I was really skeptic about this movie. Gundam is hard science with tads of transhumanism. What were aliens going to do in that setting. In Macross, maybe, but in Gundam?

for RPers, it gives plenty ideas for your campaigns, if you play games like Transhuman Space, Traveler or Eclipse Phase (you have a text book Exsurgent infection, asyncs and basilisk hack, in that flick!)

@j9rwb67q all I gotta say, the movie was pure ASS. Although the fights were intense but the story didn't live up for my expectations. I mean, I've watched this whole series fighting people with different problems and then we end up fighting alien lifeforms from cybertron all of a sudden?
The movie was good during the first half but the last parts were pure ASS....no....pure SHIT.....>_<

AT first, I was really skeptic about this movie. Gundam is hard science with tads of transhumanism. What were aliens going to do in that setting. In Macross, maybe, but in Gundam?
And yet, they made it really unique and pretty scary.
Really a great conclusion to a great story.
for RPers, it gives plenty ideas for your campaigns, if you play games like Transhuman Space, Traveler or Eclipse Phase (you have a text book Exsurgent infection, asyncs and basilisk hack, in that flick!)

@lokisg3 Fuck no, I watched it and its all makes complete sense with season 1 and 2. I read the plot before I watched and I understand everything it all makes sense. if you dont like it. then dont even bother telling others because every one has a different opinion .
