  • 4:14 confuses the crap out of me. Everything is made over there, and they dont know what a camera is? Or is recording a crime, and they call recording groping? Now Im going to wonder what everyone is saying when i go over there.

  • @Zlykin Anyone who rides a train in Japan will see warning signs about chikan. In Ireland (where I come from) we don't have such warnings or, as far as I know, such practices, so when we visited Japan, my friend and I were taught what it is. At 4:14, our habit of filming Japanese people (to us: exotic beautiful people) was playfully interpreted as voyeuristic by our Japanese friends: "Chikan!". I think our friend's quirky sense of humour is more the exception than the norm for a Japanese :)

  • @finorgan Thank you, but I'm afraid I'm still lost. What exactly is 'Chikan'? And is recording actually a crime? I do intend on recording a lot while i'm over there myself.

  • @Zlykin Chikan, meaning grope, is what some men do to women on the crowded metro trains. To help prevent it, some trains have women-only carriages during peak times. Video recording is definitely not a crime, you'll see digital cameras everywhere in Japan. Enjoy your trip!

  • @finorgan Ah. Okay. i knew what grope meant, but it was unclear to me if it meant something totally differnet over there. I see now. thanks!

  • i miss japan
