Nice work. Keep practicing. I can remember learning the same song to about the same degree of fidelity back when I had only been playing a year (about 20 years ago) and those were good times. In reference to some of the other comments you've gotten, I hope you will continue to study whatever you want to study in whatever order you choose. Unless you're hoping to make a living by playing guitar you should just do whatever makes you happiest. Keep it up!
@pimpifyable after reading all your comments on this video I've decided what you are. You're one of those internet tough guys who in reality prolly can't play guitar for shit but likes to come around and tell people that you and your band that prolly doesn't exist sound better than them. Or like you did me and two others that we're gay or a fag. Ya know its people like you who bring a bad name to music. So go back to trying to give yourself head and leave me and the other real musicians alone
Learn the rhythm of the song before you play solo. You got the signature solo licks pretty well but thruought the song (the vocal part) you rely on the backing track and almost dont play at all, or play the rhythm parts wrong with no energy or feel. Its a common beginners mistake. Be a good rhythm guitarist before becoming a solo guitarist. If you cant play rhythm well in band situatuon you will be of no use to anybody.
@MrMOMOJAZZ your exactly right when I first decided to play guitar i learned almost all the chords first and got down basic songwriting, THEN i started learning scales now i am actually a pretty good guitarist. Lead in my band and we sound amazing.
I'm sorry but there is no feeling in this... If you're going to cover Slash at least have some soul. Don't be so busy on the wah. Feel it! Thats what its all about! its not about how close can you come to Slash its about can you capture the soul that he put into the song... And in this case you didn't... Sorry
that proves that you clearly know nothing about the true meaning of music. You should be able to find your own connection with every song that you love and want to play. Sweet Child O' Mine is an amazing love song with lyrics that Axl wrote to his wife. Its a song that the softer side of you connects with and says "HEY! I wanna feel like that about someone" From that point on you have a connection with it. So whether he's playing a cover or not he should ALWAYS try to capture the soul of it.
does this guitar differ from the normal epi 56 goldtop?
if not, is it a solid purchase? I wanna upgrade from my LP100. 56 gold top is my 1st option, but also there is LP standard top. im not sure, can u plz give me ur feedback?
I have never played an epi 56 goldtop..should be about the same, guitar wise.. the only differences I can recall are the SLASH truss rod cover, long neck tenon, Alnico Pro II Pickups and the slash neck profile...
@YoAmAGangster epi gold top is alot different from this guitar i have this one and i have checked out the epi gold top, it has soap bar pick ups for one thing, and the neck is not as big, but not as close to the neck pick up either, tuning pegs r different too go on guitar center and research.
Hey bud since I can't see anybody that helped you out with this I figured I would try. The difference from this and the normal 56 goldtop's are that the normal ones have Gibson single coil pick ups in them and the Slash models have his humbuckers in them
good actual pedals usually are better then the ones in the PODs..my opinion tho..i have a Dunlop 95Q Wah pedal and never seen a wah that can match it! Boss and Dunlop are the best for me! try them out before buying a POD!
@Shelbones01 lol yea a good amp is 50% of your tone! but why you think you won't get one? pedals are so cheap in the USA! in Brazil we pay twice as much!!lol
11 months playing and you already had a $1000 guitar? WWTTTFFF!! i've been playing for three years, with the same guitar since i started epiphone sg g310
do u think this is better then a Gibson les paul studio??? PLEASE answer back i am trying to decide which one i want and dude that's the first song i learned to
Better is a very subjective. I had a studio before, but the cheaper one , the Vintage Mahogany one. It was very nice, and well constructed. I'm sure the more expensive ones are even better/nicer. But the Studios had 50s neck profile, which I felt was too think for me. The Slash has a slimmer neck..plus I'm a big fan of slash, so I kept the Epiphone. I suggest you try out both and decide of yourself. They both are very good guitars.
it doesn't matter if he doesn't play it with lots of feeling.. he's only been playing for 11 months and if he would run around etc. he couldn't consentrate on the playing!
lol, first I'm no Slash, second this is not a live stage, lastly I have to operate my pedal to switch sounds, since I don't have a dedicated guitar tech to do it for me at the backstage.
I've been playing 3 years and I can't do anything close to that.. haha
Don't be so insecure with your work and try to justify your mistakes. Just make the mistakes and if any ass on youtube says anything, tell them to STFU.

in the intro i thought that was from ADF u got almost exactly the same tone as Slash! Can u really get it so close with the PodXt Live`?
Slasshh12 2 years ago
well, in this video, my Podxt live is plugged into a pair Roland active studio monitors.
To get the most out of the Pods, don't plug them into guitar amps. Unless it's a power amp only, like the Tech21 Power Engine and Atomic amps.
raku10 2 years ago
'key, thanks for the advice man

great job dude. now when you said about 11 months, how many days out of the week did you practice? and how long did it take you to learn this song?

I love it, it's very nice guitar. A lot of ppl seem to be happy.
Value, is a very personal thing. If you are to built this guitar your own will cost you about $800
Epi Standard $500
SD Pickups set $180
Hardcase $90
Strap + Goodies $30
Long neck tenon $??
So is Slash's name worth the extra $200??
