Different techniques work for different kids, too extreme on either front, letting them do whatever and beating the shit out of them, cause exterme usually negative results. This dad obviously had a enough of a handle on his 2yr old to cause her to understand what she did was wrong, if it works, let him be. While I on the other hand would have needed to be yelled at or hit non abusively in order to get that I did something wrong, not at age 2 but as a kid.

I don't believe one is better than the other. Some children need spanking; others don't. Period. We are different. We learn differently. While many children respond well, to the example stated in the video, others need firmer discipline; NEVER child abuse, though.
To me , asking all of those questions to her is pointless. All it is doing is creating a lot of guilt and confusion. With a child so young there is only one way to nip it in the bud and that is a light spanking just until there are tears and no further. After that It should never be brought up again. You basically demonstrate what parents do nowadays. So all that guilt just keeps building until they are in their teens to late twenties where they are most likely to have problems with depression.

Being a parent and having kids usually means that at some point in time you are going to helplessly suffer from some commodity damage in your residence, be it the piano, the pool table, the prized coffin etc.

You shouldnt interigate, for all you know she was making art work for you by decorating your favorite toy. Now she feels silly & confused. She's more important than that piece of wood & should still be thanked for her attempt at expressing herself & feelings. Interigation opresses the memories which will haunt her later in life. Believe me, i was raised by a seargant. If you want her to understand, then support her in her art endevours. Just a suggestion as i am sure you are doing great.

Also, this has absolutely no bearing on her as a teenager....that was an unnecessary and inappropriate question to ask her father.

He talked to her calmly and encouraged her every step of the way and praised her the whole time she did it. Guess what? If youa sked her now, she would totally be on his side and be a really little adult to you about it. He did not yell or scold or put her down, he merely requested that she clean up her mess.And she did

Different techniques work for different kids, too extreme on either front, letting them do whatever and beating the shit out of them, cause exterme usually negative results. This dad obviously had a enough of a handle on his 2yr old to cause her to understand what she did was wrong, if it works, let him be. While I on the other hand would have needed to be yelled at or hit non abusively in order to get that I did something wrong, not at age 2 but as a kid.

I was never spanked as a kid and I think I turned out alright. I'm 19, still a virgin, I've never smoked, nor done drugs, I read a lot, babysit, and volunteered at the hospital when I was young enough for the program. Once again I was never spanked or hit. Did I turn out so awful?

I am all for CP, when it is necessary to make a person see he/she misbehaved, but CP is just a part of it!!! Raising any kid the proper way is to make sure it gets punished one way or another when it has done something bad and compliment for doing the right things!!! One goes not without the other as any good parent knows!!! Making her clean up the mesh she made, made her understand, its ok to mesh up as long as i clean it up again!!!!
But thats not really what you were aiming for, i bet!!!

I don't believe one is better than the other. Some children need spanking; others don't. Period. We are different. We learn differently. While many children respond well, to the example stated in the video, others need firmer discipline; NEVER child abuse, though.

To me , asking all of those questions to her is pointless. All it is doing is creating a lot of guilt and confusion. With a child so young there is only one way to nip it in the bud and that is a light spanking just until there are tears and no further. After that It should never be brought up again. You basically demonstrate what parents do nowadays. So all that guilt just keeps building until they are in their teens to late twenties where they are most likely to have problems with depression.
