Awesome. However I have noticed...

Many American players play 'flat footed' and stomp the shit out of the pads and kind of 'cheat' while not fully doing the step or putting as little of there foot on the pad (not all but many) while more Asian players play on there toes and more or less 'scoot' across the pads. Which is why I would guess you here screeching sneakers and no stomping...it's interesting.

It MUST be REFLEX and I also think you need SPEED and BALANCE because let me tell you my friend when I used to play DDr I double AA'd the last song many times and unlocked this bonus stage, only to fail at the very beginning of the song where the arrows move slow and the arrows were reverse. I don't know if it was the reverse or the slow moving arrows that threw me off.

Either way, I see players here in Japan using their toes constantly, but none of them are good. All the top-tier players (just like in America) use flatfoot style. It conserves energy (don't have to pick up your feet as much), it's more accurate (arguable), and it doesn't look as silly lol.

ITG is community decided what it is, and what that is is the absolute pinnacle of foot speed and stamina.

Pump focuses on no bar stamina, technique, and freestyle... and isn't tremendously far behind ITG in foot speed either. Take a look at Sorceress Elise Single 23... it's absolutely ridiculous.

DDR's focus is simplicity, and then BPM gimmicks.

It's just a matter of what you prefer in a game. But they are all different.

Your argument might have some merit if he was playing on an ITG cabinet or something, where he theoretically could have put a slowed down version of the song onto the machine and then played that, but on a Supernova 2 machine, he can only play official songs. And if you look around, this is the official chart for Fascination (Eternal Love Mix), and this is its actual speed.

So do some research before you make any more accusations.

If your arcade will actually take care of your pads the way its supposed to. If you're forced to play on bad pads, using toes doesn't work. That's why I've learned to play flat footed. It's the only way I can get it to work. That, and I like to to hear the sound of my footfalls.

Actually, I was very good at DDR and what I realized is that these movements are actually not related to those in running or sprinting. These movements are actually in the rotary ligaments in your legs and foot muscle and reaction. Running requires quads, ankles, etc.
