Hey man, your video convinced me to take the leap and buy the Damien Elite 8 but I disagree with you on the floppiness of the F# string. What gauge strings do you use? Did you have yours set or was it tight straight out of the factory? I've got the default strings and I'm not so happy about them...
@ganza222 hmmm i wonder why its so floppy for you? My other guitarist has the black elite 8 string and it plays just like mine. We use the S.I.T. brand strings and they are 74 gauge.
@StarFaukes The standard tuning is about all you can do, if you drop the F, it's too wobbly. You can drop the B to an A ok but thats about it. The neck isn't long enough to drop the low F any further.

@davo664 Damien has much better parts, Mahogony body with a maple veneer instead of basswood, grover tuners 18:1 ratio over 15:1 schecter tuners and EMG 808 pickups not schecter diamonds. hope that helps. you pay £249 more for £400 more guitar (based on £350 omen 8 to a £599 damien elite 8)
Difference between the Omen 8 and the Damien Elite 8 is that Omen is basswood, and Damien Elite is mahogany.
Omen 8 has no EMGs, and the Damien Elite 8 has EMG 808's.
Personally, you can't go wrong with either guitar, because you'll still be spending the same amount of money for the guitar if you replace the PU's in the Omen 8. Basswood isn't a bad tone wood to be honest, lots of Ibanez's use it, and sound nice.
However, you might want the Damien Elite instead, since it's pretty.

@clanbigger4 I say schecter, schecter has EMG 808 active pickups and Ibanez has just some random humbucker pickups, sound is very different, schecter is more brutal i say. :D I know that the pickups aren't the only thing what makes guitar better but it's very big thing in sound world !

As far as i know they're all almost identical except for the damien being a bolt on neck and the hellraiser being a set neck. Not sure what neck the blackjack has. They all have the same pickups, hardware, and are made from the same woods.

No it's a legit straight from schecter chainsaw guitar, it was a limited edition they did a few years back, 100% factory paint job and inlays. was only $699 if i remember right which isn't bad for an axe like that. how big is the difference in string tension between your schecter and your agile??
and one last thing.. what kind of strings do you use on the Agile and what guage.. I was considering the 30' model.. but need to know if finding strings long enough to fit is gonna be a pain haha..
@motabaco Not that big a difference, the agile is a little tighter but not much. I just use the strings rondomusic recommends. They sell them on their site. lemme know if ya need anything else.

I got a question, how low can you tune this guitar before it gets "loose" or "muddy" and what is the actual heaviest guage "guitar string" can you can buy marketed for an 8 string, with out actually using a bass string for the low F?
@Standard420247 I think its a 72 gauge my friend. thickest string in a baritone set. also the gauge you need also depends on the scale length of the neck. this guitar can keep the F taught as it has a 261/2 inch scale length. However if you wish to go lower (past D for example(3 half steps lower)) you will need either a longer scale length or a bass string.
@Standard420247 F sharp is about the lowest you wanna go on this, you could go down a half step but for me that would make it too loose. It comes with a 74 gauge string, not sure if you can buy a legit guitar string any heavier?

@slesperado Wow thanx, i really didn't think the mic picked up the guitar all that great but I guess it did... I was using a Sony HDR SR-11 camcorder with the built in mic, so nuthin' special was used to get the sound like this.

yeah, I tried a Schecter Damien Elite 8 a few days ago, kinda like the look of the Blackjack ATX with the flat black colour.. but both play very nicely, and has awesome tone... your music kinda brings me back to the days when nu-metal was THE effing heavy sound to go for :) good old days where there weren't that many generic metal bands.. keep it up dude \m/

I'm influenced by so many styles of music so i like to try and incorporate everything. Nice review bro. I've been playing a Les Paul for a while and I want to dive into an 8-string. Would you recommend spending some quality time with a 7-sting first or just going straight to the 8?

I got a question, how low can you tune this guitar before it gets "loose" or "muddy" and what is the actual heaviest guage "guitar string" can you can buy marketed for an 8 string, with out actually using a bass string for the low F?

@Standard420247 I think its a 72 gauge my friend. thickest string in a baritone set. also the gauge you need also depends on the scale length of the neck. this guitar can keep the F taught as it has a 261/2 inch scale length. However if you wish to go lower (past D for example(3 half steps lower)) you will need either a longer scale length or a bass string.

@Standard420247 F sharp is about the lowest you wanna go on this, you could go down a half step but for me that would make it too loose. It comes with a 74 gauge string, not sure if you can buy a legit guitar string any heavier?

@edgenchristian I don't really consider us nu-metal though, some songs could def be considered that but we have so many different sounding songs it's real hard to label us. We have some straight emo songs and even electronica tunes too.

Hey!!! How did you capture such good sound on this video. I've tried so many techniques, but I can't seem to get a "true" sound of my guitar on my videos. Whatever you did on this video allowed your guitar's true sound to come through. Show me how you captured the sound.

@slesperado Wow thanx, i really didn't think the mic picked up the guitar all that great but I guess it did... I was using a Sony HDR SR-11 camcorder with the built in mic, so nuthin' special was used to get the sound like this.

@slesperado Kodak makes a little camcorder the Zi6 or Zi8, it's only $100 and the mic on that thing totally destroys my sony!! No joke, u might wanna invest in one of those, they shoot in full HD

yeah, I tried a Schecter Damien Elite 8 a few days ago, kinda like the look of the Blackjack ATX with the flat black colour.. but both play very nicely, and has awesome tone... your music kinda brings me back to the days when nu-metal was THE effing heavy sound to go for :) good old days where there weren't that many generic metal bands.. keep it up dude \m/

Huge riffs with good singing n screaming and big catchy choruses... yaya! Taproot, Reveille, Ill Nino, old deftones, 40 below summer, coal chamber, dry kill logic... the list goes on hahaha

@SLIPKNOT8018 Man... our style is pretty different. I like that name, rap-metalcore! I don't really rap that much but the songs have that feel to em. I'm influenced by so many styles of music so i like to try and incorporate everything. Some of our favorite bands are Taproot, Blindside, Caliban, Acacia Strain, Skillet, 36 Crazyfists, Slipknot, etc...
