wow. you are such a fool! If you're not a skiier or boarder why go up? thats what its there for, not to entertain some tourists who dont ski or board. Its not some cartoon or fairytale, And if you stay up there at night and actually have friends there, its such a fun night. And they will easily survive the economic downfall. This resort is amazing since it keeps tourist like you from crowding around and whining. I love silverstar!

try sking there or doing the skating or tube town when its sunny out with the fresh snow you will change your mind. If your not snowboarding sking or hiking there, your not acually seeing the place, try that out don't just walk to the resurants and go this place sucks try something out, whistler on the other hand is a huge tourist attraction go to the top and take a picture with the olympics sign on the top leave mabey have lunch but silverstar is the way to go thats for sure.

If you want atmosphere and are a non-skier, Wistler Village is the place! Even the base of Blacomb is bland if you don't ski, but the runs are excellent.

I spent a New Year's Eve here when I was in my early 20's (about 20 years ago ;), and stayed in one of the condos you can see when you drive in. We had a blast! Night skiing, complete with glowing light displays of torch bearers meandering down the hill. There was a real party atmosphere at night, but during the day, it is all business.
