  • The motor on this changer is no longer available and you can't find a replacement anywhere so make sure the motor bearings are first cleaned, THEN lubricate it. What a classic; combination belt drive/idler wheel driving a heavy 11/34" platter with built-in flip up 45 adapter, micro-touch tone arm, providing a smooth, accurate, rumble/flutter free turntable speed. "The Quality Goes In Before The Name Goes On." No truer words ever spoken. Good Luck. Got more questions; let me know. JIM

  • The set-down adjustment is the screw right by the tonearm housing. Just rotate it in either direction so it sets down in the proper position. It would be rare that the problem is in the area of the tonearm where you suspect since the tonearm moves freely across the record until it gets into the trip area, therefore I would suspect what the tonearm trips.

Wish I were closer. I'd get that unit working flawlessly as it was designed. You are fortunate to own it. See next post.

  • As the tonearm moves into the trip area of the record, it moves a lightweight aluminum lever, which contacts the velocity trip mechanisim clutch located on the gear assembly. Follow it as it makes contact w/the tonearm assembly. It may be binding or the clutch is sticking. If the problem is not readily obvious, the assembly may have to be disassembled/cleaned. This may be complicated so be careful; lots of springs/levers/assemblies. See next post.

  • Hi. I have several of these precision high-end quality Zenith Turntables. They are not just turntables, they are works of art for their era. You are fortunate not only to have the turntable but also the console it was installed. Great sound and built like a Sherman tank made to last forever.

I've serviced Zeniths for years. Do not, I say again, do not remove that clip/screw under the tonearm. Your problem, which is minor, is in the mechanisim underneath. See next post.
